    Beautiful amp, should go fast!
  2. Loving my Goldring 1024, mounted on my Empire turntable.
  3. Wow, that Marantz amp would do very well with Cornwalls.
  4. bose 601 series 2. I’m so ashamed. The less said the better.
  5. New gear does NOT sound better! I’ve put my Scott 299C integrated amp (restored by NOS Valves) and actually put it up against numerous solid state amps in the $4000 to $8000 - and some blindfolded testing to boot! The Scott, except in one instance always won. (Another 2 tests couldn’t find a difference in sound). Sure you need to adjust the bias and voltages periodically to keep it at peak performance, but that’s all part of the fun.
  6. Looks like another satisfied customer possibly,……who said this forum is dead?
  7. Try it with Klipsch Cornwalls, you will not believe what depth and richness you will hear-not to mention the enormous sound stage!
  8. So grendel, how do you adjust the line voltage from your outlet to your amp? 120 volts is fine for me, not 128 or whatever.
  9. Hi, am building a house and found a power transformer on a pole which will be tapped for my house near me. I was told power could fluctuate from 120volts to 130volts. I plan to use HH Scott amps to power my Klipsch’s and it was suggested they run great at 115 to 120volts. Is there some kind of power limiter to get only 115 or 120 volts to my amps? (I don’t mean a voltage regulator that has the big knob to adjust from 0 volts to max volts. I mean a set voltage of 115 or 120 volts).
  10. Jeez, $549 each…………..that’s a deal and a half!
  11. Thanks for the info, I believe I’ll go for the RP-8000 series ll.
  12. Just saw the new R-800f speakers. I was getting ready to order a pair of the RP-8000f’s and wondering if I should switch to the R-800f’s instead. Anybody know if the R-800f is improved? They seem awfully similar and while one is Reference Premier and the other is just Reference I’m just a bit confused. ( and I dislike being confused )!
  13. You need another room, pronto.
  14. Hey garyrc, Your diagram of Khorn placements shows 60 degree angles, which I believe would be perfect, but if they are placed in corners correctly for the bass wouldn’t it be 45 degrees? ( unless some models had adjustable mid-horns ?) Also just wondered how you knew I liked Star Trek? You are right of course!
  15. 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea with James Mason and Kirk Douglas, excellent visuals and super sound (Blu-Ray version).
  16. Why pick another company for the subwoofer. Wouldn’t the Klipsch R-120SW (for instance) sound and look better than the SVS woofer? Just wondering?
  17. I’m still wondering if I should wait for the R-800f if it’s an improvement over the RP-8000f ………..it really is a bit confusing.
  18. I only have the RP-600M……………………..like I said, superb sound and quality.
  19. I’m building a listening room with a surround sound system and am contemplating getting a pair of Klipschorns for the corners. The room will be 20’-5” by 26’ by 8’ high. I plan on putting the speakers on the 20 foot 5 inch wall - it would work best there. My question is could that be too wide a space for Khorns? Were they designed to be a bit closer together? I don’t want to lose the soundstage that they are famous for producing! Thanks for your replies!
  20. Seems like you have to be quick to order them, I have a pair myself and am super enjoying them!
  21. I am setting up an atmos surround sound system and was pretty much set for left and right fronts the RP-8000f and now I see the new Reference R-800f, is this different and better than the RP-8000f’s and if so what are the differences? Is it too early to ask for this information now? Or are the RP-8000f’s being phased out for the Reference R-800f’s? Thanks for any help!
