  1. I went to view and audition these today. I must say these are monsters. Overall they are in very good condition, They came out of a local movie theatre and do have a few cosmetic blemishes but nothing that turned me off in any way. There is one binding post broken off of one of the LF cabinets but looks like an easy fix. I had him hook them up as they were not connected when I arrived. He used a Peavey amp (wattage unknown) and his ipod. We played some blues, rock and some jazz and these sound amazing. I removed the grills to inspect the cones, foam and gaskets and all was pristine. All of the networks / crossovers are original. Grills are perfect and built like a tank! Anyways to make a long story short, I gave him a deposit and these are coming home with me on Saturday. He was quite firm on his asking price so I really didn't do much tire kicking. He also has a 3rd complete LF unit but no HF unit to go with it. I only committed to the 2 complete 450's but he did offer the other for an additional 250.00 The 2 I am purchasing are sequential serial #'s on the LF but different on the HF I'm not sure what I will do with these but it just seemed too good of a deal to pass on!
  2. Thank you Bill for the spec sheet and your input. Any pointers on what to look for specifically as far as the drivers, horns, etc...?
  3. I think I will contact the seller to audition them. If I was to buy them, I really don't know how I would integrate them into my HT but I could handle for another forum member. Shipping could be a deal breaker unless they are under valued at the sellers asking price.
  4. Hey guys, There are a pair here locally and just trying to get an idea on what they are worth. The seller is asking 700.00 and they look in really good condition. I haven't looked at them in person yet but wondering if it is worth a looksie.
  5. There's really no benefits to a y adapter. Some say it adds a couple of db and keeps dust out of the terminal. I primarily just added mine to help with the wake up / auto on feature. Sorry I misread your op...........and by all means take cecaa850's advise to heart as he is one of the forums "Sub Gurus" [Y]
  6. Welcome to the forum! I have 2 as well and added a Y splitter at each sub for the left and right input. This helped the auto on function for both subs.
  7. I've been looking at the Marantz as well. Any price deal information would be appreciated.
  8. LOL I love it! Unpractical maybe but I would buy it none the less.
  9. Those are nice looking speakers but I like having the full grill so when the lights are out and the movie is on there is no reflection from my speakers...Of course the pin design of the originals sucks. I agree with you that they do grow on you with the grills on and show off the gorgeous wood. I really also like having everything naked but as tkd stated, it can be distracting with 10 copper woofers while watching a movie and such. Also for the price, magnetic grills instead of plastic pins should of been a no brainer......oh well I still love mine!
  10. Me to, but i dont think any TV stand could hold the Weight though. LOL Maybe Michael can photoshop one up for us!
  11. In lieu of ebay, you might also want to check Audiogon or Accessories4less for well priced used equipment.
  12. Ironic, last time you were out of town he took your amp into his room. []
  13. I'd start with newegg. You might have to contact Klipsch warranty department or have your dad (as the original purchaser) contact them for you as a receipt may be required.
  14. You should probably just contact newegg as you are within your warranty. Their customer service department is outstanding. I had to replace one of mine on a shipping damage issue and received a new one in 3 days.
  15. It's the opening in the front (middle bottom) that air is pushed thru. Inside is a plastic tube/sleeve that may have come loose.
  16. Have you checked the front port chute to see if it is loose? These can come loose during shipping / handling and may need to be re-glued.
  17. Very nice ivan! Your stand is from the same mfg. as mine, Sunny Designs of California (Sedona Collection) just a slightly different model. You have good taste! [Y]
  18. That's great! Looking forward to your pics........
  19. NAD and Outlaw would be contenders.
  20. It's what I used on my Jeep's fender. [] Best wishes to you Dean and God speed!
  21. 1500.00 would be more in line for all 5 pieces depending on condition. Freight would probably be the deal breaker. Maybe others will chime in on current values........
