  1. Really? $750 seems a little high based on what they look like. He will probably call you back when they don't sell, your offer was more than fair.
  2. Are those really worth that much? You can buy Cornwalls for that amount.
  3. All those horrible angles...... sure looks like those cheap replacement woofers were trying to get slipped past you. Good catch
  4. I have 2 Aura's on my couch, I think they are cool too. Very cheap really and it adds to the whole movie special effects. My system is in my basement on concrete slab so none of the shake of my subwoofer makes through the floor into any seating location. Like you said they are great when you can't blast the sub but still want that feel.
  5. Best ever series in my opinion.....watch it.
  6. Thanks for all the info the age does worry me some for that price. If I have to get it serviced I'll be in pretty deep. What do you think is a good price?
  7. Anyone own one and have thoughts on how it may sound with LS? Can't find a ton of info but most of what I found seems very positive. Found one for sale nearby supposed to be in mint condition for $200
  8. Cool thanks for the replies, I knew I would get my answer here. Great info
  9. Many times when you go to see bands in clubs and bars you end up looking how the speakers and sound equipment is set up. I noticed that many musicians put a mic on a boom and place it in front of a monitor or speaker. It seems obvious that they are then going to amplify that sound. Isn't that going to introduce a ton of distortion as compared to traditional ways to amplify the sound. I would love to understand what they are doing and why. BTW I just went and saw Sonny Landreth last night and he was awesome, and yes he had one of the monitors behind him mic'd up which is what got me thinking about all of this.
  10. I bought the 301 last spring, crutchfield had them marked down and there was a factory rebate got it for $299 new. I really bought it for my daughter to use in her room but before I gave it to her I hooked it up to my Quartets in my room. I thought it was great, plenty of power and very detailed sound with no noise at all. Blutooth works well even though you loose a little fidelity as compared to hard connection. I would buy another one without a doubt, if that deal comes around again I might be forced to get another one.
  11. So I would be wasting my time, is that the general consensus of others who tried it as well?
  12. Can anyone direct me on the proper way to add a center channel in a 2 channel setup? I want to try one of my Lascalas between my Khorns using a 2 channel integrated amp.
  13. Well I ordered one late last week I should have it on Wed........we will see how it sounds with the Khorns. Jo56 maybe a little soft may be just perfect.
  14. Jo56........so soft as in no bass? What speakers are you using with the amp? Can you explain farther? I would use them with Khorns.
  15. Anybody try these or know anything about them......... http://www.glow-audio.com/AmpOne.html
  16. I hired a buddy of mine to build my THTLP. Parts and wood were around $500 and I paid him $150 to make it from the plans. I asked him to build it 18"x18" by 72". I placed it against a side wall and stapled carpet to it, it lays down behind a couch but I sometimes use it as a seat when I have parties.
  17. What Yamaha amp did you order? I was looking at various Yamaha's as well. If you do keep it I would love to hear your review on the gear.
  18. They look great, I'd pay that amount.
  19. The A-S 1000 looks awesome but has no built in DAC, I definitely want that feature. Any feelings on the the Peachtree Nova 65SE or the 125SE?
  20. Anybody have one of these? Looking for something in the 1K range and thought I might try it. I'm looking to use it with either my Khorns or my Cornwalls. http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/hifi-components/amps/a-s801/
  21. Thanks for the info, makes more sense to me now.
  22. If 4 ohm is less resistance then why is it a more difficult load? Seems like it would be easier for the amp to drive and create less heat. I'm confused.
  23. Gone already.....guy came in less than an hour. Full price.
