  1. Good question...I actually only have maybe 6 ft then a 90 degree bend and another 6-8 feet to the where wire can be run too..Access is not an issue as I can get to speaker wire in room behind entertainment center. Please tell me this is possible as I think this may be my only option as well.
  2. not sure..I think you may be right on the wiring since no other speaker has this problem..The wall that the speaker wire is in is facing the back patio and only about a 1 ft high before really tall windows line the wall and there is an outlet around 1 foot away from where wire comes out of the wall .Anything that can be done to help this problem? My rca adapters were pretty simple, 2 wires (neg. and pos.) tied to speaker wire..
  3. Why does my sub have a low pitched humming noise when not being used? The location I really want to place it has pre existing speaker wire placed with an rca adapters and unfortunatly this is the same spot I get the humming. When I place the speaker right next to my reciever and use regular rca wiring all is good. Is it the wiring or the location that is the problem and any idea's how I can fix this? thanks
  4. Thanks, thats exactly what I was looking for...Guess I can probably find these at my local Radio Shack?
  5. How can I connect a sub to a reciever with only speaker wire run between to 2 locations with no rca jacks at ends and only a rca jack connection to reciever? Is there some adapter I could use to place rca jacks on each end of the speaker wire? Thanks
  6. I recently purchased a synergy 10 sub but am having problems with connections. The location where I would use the Sub strictly has speaker wire with no rca jack and my onkyo reciever also only uses a single rca jack as well. So my problem is connecting a run speaker wire between the reciever and sub with no rca jacks on either side. A last resort is putting my sub very close to my reciever but my wire with rca jacks would be exposed. Any help or ideas would be great, thanks..
  7. I recently purchased quintet 3 system and ksw-10 used, My quintet is operating great but my Ksw-10 seems to work a couple of days then stops working. I have tried to using the auto feature and simply keeping it on but to no avail. I have it plugged into a wall outlet and have it plugged into my onkyo 509 with a y set. The lights work fine (red when off and green when on) so I do not think its a fuse. To get it to work again I usually have to unplug it from the outlet and reciever and plug in again. This usually gets the sub working but only for a c ouple of days before it stops working again. Any ideas? I consider myself a beginner in this so please be as simple as possible. Thanks
  8. Having a problem with my ksw-10. I connect it to my onkyo and it may hit once then never again, then randomly hits really hard out of the blue ,and sometimes never at all. I have the sub setting turned on on my onkyo and still nothing. The sub is used, but I took it to a store and it seemed to function ok when I tested it. Not sure exctly where to set switches on side of sub but I do have it on auto. Any suggestions?
  9. I finally got it figured it out..I had to turn on HDMI setting for the onkyo and a couple of setting on TV and bingo, everything is good...Thanks to everyone for there help and recomendations
  10. i will continue to mess with it today, but I have the same feeling that something is simply not working properly..Thanks again and I will keep you posted as to what I find.
  11. Ya, no component connections being used on my onkyo. Again, whenever I go hdmi from att uverse cablebox to cable slot on onkyo and hdmi out feed from onkyo to tv all I receive is audio feed, no video feed. Only I can get video feed is by using red, blue, green connections from tv to att uverse cablebox.
  12. Will I attempted hdmi from cable box to reciever (in cable slot) and hdmi from reciever( out port) to tv and can only get reciever sound, not getting video or audio feed from tv. Do I still need to run a seperate set of wires for the video feed?
  13. Currently when I go to tv mode the onkyo remote only powers up my tv and not the reciever. Is there a different mode I need to set for an automatic start of my receiver? Also, I currently have my wires (green, blue, red, yellow) from my cablebox to my tv and havemy hdmi from my reciver to the cable box. Should I have this wired differently in your opinion? thanks for your help
  14. Ya that does the easiest but I guess I gotten used to simply hitting one button on my Uverse remote and turning on both my tv and cable. and going from there. Right now all I have is the onkyo remote which came with the receiver and I do not think I can turn on all the units with just one button, but I might be wrong...Did you have to buy a specialty remote or did you just a standard remote? Also, any idea why my tv settings (change from 1080 to 4:3) would change every time I shut off the unit?
  15. I am kind of confused with where I need to run cable from and to. I currently have an HDMI cable running from my reciever to my cable box and nothing running from my reciver to my tv, is that ok? I ask, cause my settings seem to keep changing when my tv is shut off, primarily my 1080p setting keeps reverting back to 4:3..not sure why, any suggestions?
