  1. Yeah, I'm heading off to LA and I'll probably be occupying a space 1/4 of the size for twice the price. Something about that makes my head hurt. It will likely be an apartment and the speakers wouldn't have room to breathe (not to mention, they would probably get me evicted at the levels I enjoy playing them) I'll probably pick up a pair of Heresy and a smaller sub.
  2. Sorry! For whatever reason, I haven't been getting email notifications that there had been replies to my post and I completely forgot about it. I'm located in Austin and I'll dig up some photos for you guys as well. If I hadn't mentioned previously, both the speakers and the receiver for 4k! This is just a feeler and I'm not ready to let go of them yet. It will likely be within the next month or so...closer to my move.
  3. Living in Texas for quite a while has afforded me a lot of square footage in which to keep my home theater, but I'm moving soon and I likely won't have the space to give this setup the room it deserves. I want to see if there's any interest in the whole set, before I start breaking them up individually. I've got a pair of cherry RF-63s, a cherry RC-64, a pair of RS- 62 II, and a pair of Epik Legend subwoofers (each with dual opposed 12" woofers) All powered by a Pioneer Elite SC-67 receiver, which will also be up for sale. I'm keeping my Screen Innovations Black Diamond Zero Edge, but my Epson 5020UB projector will probably be on it's way out as well. All speakers are flawless except for the RC-64, which has a small ding on one of the corners. I'm thinking $4,000 for the speakers/receiver and $1750 for the projector. Any interest?
  4. I'd love to take this off your hands, but I just had my receiver die on me and bought a new one. What horrible timing! If no one snatches this up, I may be revisiting this post soon Good luck with your sale!
  5. I've been on the lookout for some cherry 83s and that price is very right. I just emailed them. All goes well, I may have some cherry 63s up for sale!
  6. My RS-62s got delivered today and I must have been crazy to think I could hang these without a stud. They're massive! And the Omnimounts are pretty heavy as well.
  7. Really wish I could snag this. Bad timing, though. I'm setting on getting a projector into my house ASAP. This is a great deal!
  8. I've got a really high vaulted ceiling and I'll have to mount my RS-62's up in the corners of my living room. I've found the recommended Omnimount 30.0 WAB mounts to angle them down towards the seating area, but I'm wondering if finding a stud is absolutely necessary? 25 pounds doesn't seem like THAT much.
  9. How would this compare to something like an Emotiva XPA-5? Anyone had experience with both?
  10. I do have a 2nd output on my receiver, yes and I'm not terribly worried about the player being on at all times. It's got a 2 year warranty and that's good enough for me.
  11. I'm planning on getting a projector in the next few months and since I'm making a pretty substantial video upgrade, I might as well go all out. One thing that interests me about the Oppo is the HDMI inputs and the fact that you can run any video source through the Oppo's processing. This might be a silly question, but being that I've never owned a blu ray player with inputs, I'm curious. Could you in theory connect all of your HDMI inputs (including one out of the oppo) to the receiver and then connect the output to the Oppo's input so that everything takes advantage of the video processing? Oppo/Apple TV/PS3/Cable box -> receiver -> Oppo. Does that make sense? Am I crazy?
  12. After staring at these pictures for the last few weeks, I've decided to say "screw it" and just get the RS-62s instead of the 52s. I get a pretty decent discount through my work and the price difference isn't that significant.
  13. Pretty small room, not the greatest acoustics, but making due.
  14. I love it! My first receiver was a Pioneer 1021-K and it was fantastic, but I wanted more power. The Denon had the power, but something was just missing. The sound didn't seem as full and the iphone/ipad app was awful in comparison to the Pioneer. I love my SC-55. My only minor complaint is that the HDMI handshaking requires that devices be turned on in a certain order and if they aren't, I have to power on/off the receiver to get a picture from that input.
  15. Cost isn't an issue. I can get a very good price on anything current gen brand new, but I'm just wondering if there would be a big difference in sound between the RS-62 and 62 II. I've already got my heart set on 6 inchers all the way around. If the original RS-62s are a better match, I'll wait and find a good pair of used ones.
  16. I've got RF-63s and an RC-64 and I'd like to keep the sound as consistent as I can. Would the second gen RS-62 II pair with my system just as well as the originals?
  17. Sold the Denon and bought a Pioneer SC-55. Should be here next week. I'll report back with my findings.
  18. I'd love to buy your NAD if price and size was no object. I'd like to keep this around $1000 and around 7" in height.
  19. Thanks for all the input. I'll keep toying with it when I get home. It might grow on me over the weekend, but if not, I might end up trying to a shove a Pioneer SC-55 in that slot. Ventilation be damned. (Partially kidding)
  20. I somehow managed to score an amazing deal on a brand new pair of RF-63s and received them earlier in the week. I connected them to my Pioneer 1021k and WOW. I was blown away. Music, movies, games, everything sounded better. A noticeable improvement over my RF-62 IIs. But then I heard that nagging voice in the back of my head. The Pioneer 1021k only puts out 90 watts per channel. I could only imagine how much better more power would make these speakers sound. In my current living arrangement, my entertainment center is the limiting factor of my setup. There is a single cutout for a component and it's not very large. I've only got about 7 inches of vertical space if I want to leave a little room for airflow. That being said, I had a really difficult time finding a receiver that would fit in the console, while also giving me the features and power I was looking for. The Denon 3312CI looked to fit the bill, so I bought one and it just got in yesterday. I went through the Audyssey setup using about 5 different positions and sat down for a listen. The first thing I noticed is that Audyssey turned down channel levels on my speakers. Way down. To the point where I had to turn the volume up fairly high to hear anything. When turned up, it sounded fine. I put in Casino Royale and the opening car chase scene sounded pretty good. I hadn't watched this recently on my Pioneer, so I can't directly compare the experiences, but I was more or less happy with it. Not blown away, but not disappointed either. Music however, was a whole different story. I was not happy with it at all. I didn't notice at first, I was playing some old jazz tracks and tinkering around in the settings. I found the simulated jazz setting to be pretty cool. But as I messed around more and more, I found myself disappointed with the music performance. It could be the settings, but I spent a good amount of time going through the options and I couldn't find that sweet spot. The bass performance is HORRIBLE. Anyone using a 3312 with RF-63s? Have you found that happy place? Or can you recommend a better receiver for the RF-63s that would be around 7" high or less?
  21. I would second the local retailer suggestion. I just came across a PAIR of RF-62 II's brand new in box for $447. Unfortunately, their price on the RC-62 II was not as good. It cost more than both floorstanding speakers combined.
