  1. I love the speakers but have a hard time leaving things alone. I have a pair of RB61 ii's and am wondering about making the box stiffer or dynamating the horn. Do you have any other suggestions.
  2. I want to be able to run a cable from my computer to my stereo and play internet radio. I want to rip some of my CD's to the computer and be able to play them over the stereo. I also want to be able to use my stereo as a 2.1 home theater system ( I have Direct TV a DVD player and a Sanyo TV). What else do I need to buy? http://www.mav-audio.com/base/product/tube_magic_d1 http://www.mede8er.eu/products/new-med500x2.html The Marantz NA7004 is nice but it's expensive and I am not sure it will do everything I want it to. Have Marantz CD player, year old Energy EWS-M8 , Klipsch RB61's. Need to replace I have an older receiver that I would not be against upgrading. If I upgrade the receiver I was looking at the Yamaha RS700 but it is not an AV receiver. If I have to go with a AV receiver I thought about the Marantz NR1402 but not settled on it. The room is 14x16 . I don’t listen to music over 90 db max. Thanks
  3. How about this one at newegg?
  4. R.I.P. Ronnie Thanks for the great Rock and Roll.
  5. I know of a climate controlled livingroom where you could store them cheap. Glad to hear you are keeping them and as others have said don't ever sell them.
  6. Seriously, there is a whole new generation that has never heard anything better than a "hot"MP3 through ear buds, and will never know the difference! Crying shame!! Yah I know what you mean.
  7. Have you thought about Heresy's? Because the last time I was at a dealer I wasn't even going to listen to them. I couldn't imagine buying speakers that looked that bad. Fortunately I was not impressed by their sound and ended up buying something else.
  8. I want to get a new set of speakers , budget is $350 ea. That puts RF 42, 52's and F-30, F-20 and KF 26's into play. I will power them with a 2 ch amp for music with some TV duty. Also have a Energy ESW M-6 sub. I hope to get to a dealer in a week or two but I would like to have an idea of what each model is before I get there. What is better for music RF's or the F's or KF's?
  9. It's been years since I had a nice stereo. Back in 01 I sold my Musical Fidelity A3 Integrated Amp and Canton Fonum 600 speakers. I kept my Nakamichi CD player. Since then I have been using a JVC shelf system. A few years ago I picked up a $299 Yamaha HTR receiver new in the box for $100 . Last summer I finished my cabin ( about the size of a 2 1/2 car garage ). FF to this Christmas shopping season I was watching NewEgg, Crutch, J&R and B&H. I ended up buying the Klipsch WB-14 from Egg $200 and just ordered a Energy ESW-M6 800 Watt Mini Subwoofer for $200. I got the sub today and have it working in now. I decided to check Egg's site to see the deals on the big Klipsch floorstanding speakers. I checked the sub deals and saw my sub for $159 . Oh well it was a good deal and I am happy with it. The system sounds good for $500 + an old CD player.
