  2. RP-280FA tower with integrated Atmos speaker. Color balance of the image may be slightly off... but probably the Walnut. Unless it's a previously unmentioned Cherry veneer? That's just the lighting. In most lightning, it will look like the official product photos.
  3. Yah, yah, I know...Almost all of you have seen most of this already, but we officially posted the product pages, specs, photography and an introductory video. We genuinely believe Dolby Atmos is the biggest advancement in home cinema since surround sound. It's something you really need to experience to understand (although we try to explain it in our blog haha). It's probably the craziest/most awesome demo I have had in the 3+ years I have worked at Klipsch. The RP-280FA is a version of the RP-280F floorstanding speaker with Dolby Atmos built-in via an elevation channel. It comes in black and real walnut wood veneers. The RP-450CA is the matching center channel for this system that comes with those same veneer options. The RP-140SA is actually pretty cool because you can add it to whatever speakers you currently have if you are looking to implement Atmos that way. I actually just picked up a pair during an employee auction for my home theater (RP-260F, RP-450C, RP-250S, R-112SW). Of course, we still make in-ceiling speakers that deliver the Atmos spec. I get that some people are skeptical and that's fair...but, as we always say here, just have a listen.   9. It is my sad duty to report that Scott Ramsey and his wife Donna have passed away as the result of a car accident. Scott was a valued friend and employee of Klipsch since September of 2014.   10. I went to our new neighborhood Chipotle today. See attached image if it worked. Sure enough, looks like Heresy in the high wall. Pretty subliminal marketing if that is the intention. Actually think they need a third in the space they have designed. They got a little nervous when I started taking photos of their new operation. It's not marketing on our part. They just bought our speakers because the founder of Chipotle is a big fan.

  12. A niche? The Heritage line and its upper models with horn loaded cabs were the norm and was what helped Klipsch get worldly known. Its almost like this line is heralded as what Klipsch use to be. Its unfortunate this line has to be stuck in a "holding pattern" for life never to be offered with any true updates. I think its time Klipsch step outside the box or rather, step back inside their "old" box. Forgive me, but IMO, Klipsch and its new offerings have been stagnate for almost two decades. Where are the ideas of the 1980's and 90's with the likes of the Fortes', Chorus and others when it seemed there would be more improvements and innovation after releasing the second versions of each? Why are we not seeing more horn loaded incorporations at the drawing table? Why are the new minds of Klipsch not pushing the envelope instead of high fiving over these same old tired tower designs? Surely there are some there that are hungry for a real breakthrough or should I say "breakout' of this continuous loop. Points to make... - You are definitely right that we have made some missteps and need to do better. - You are right that some people at Klipsch took Heritage for granted. I can promise you that is not the case right now. - Someone already posted a PWK quote that applies as a response...but essentially the Klipschorn is a 1%er speaker. That's who it was made for. That is the definition of a niche. It's not an insult in any way. The simple fact is that the Heritage Series is for the high-end market, particular with the current state of things. You can still make a good deal of business from a niche series. Heck, Audeze is a niche headphone brand and they make a crap ton of money selling headphones from $700+++. B&O does as well with its ridiculously priced systems. My greater point was that the Heritage speakers themselves are niche, but they are not niche to the brand itself. - There are people on these forums even that prefer Reference Series to Forte/Chorus/etc. Subjective to conclude that there has been no improvement made there. - All the principles of the Klipsch Heritage Series goes into the design of all Klipsch speakers. It is drilled into the engineers and everyone else here ad nauseam. Are there times when those principles are violated? Sure. Even PWK knew there was a time and place for that - Heresy. - We DO make improvements to each speaker line. Reference Premiere vs. Reference II is a big-time improvement. Listening is believing. - The Klipsch "Bridge' concept we showed at CES is a great example of what we can do. It takes some of our best new technology from the Stadium with wood cabinetry. As I said in its thread, the new demo blew everyone away. - The Heritage Series is not done improving yet. - There are even more cool things that we are working on that were not displayed at CES. We have to develop alongside what sales/PD/retailers dictate the market wants. It is simply bad business to go through all the R&D and then no retailer wants to take in the speaker. Essentially, I could have erased all of that and said "I don't think you'll be disappointed by 2015-2016."
  13. Heritage speakers is a critical part of the marketing of the Klipsch brand. They bring authenticity and authority to both our brand marketing and our other speaker lines. They won't be going anywhere, as there will always be people who want to buy this type of product even if it's niche. "Niche" doesn't have to mean they don't help our business financially or brand-wise. More on this to come later.

  15. Throwing this out there... Would anyone be willing to share stories about their mothers/fathers and how music/audio/Klipsch was part of the relationship? We're looking for some fresh content for the blog on Mother's Day and Father's Day, so I figured this might be a nice human-angle to it all instead of the standard "buyer's guide" blogs. I would do my best to make it worth your while! I have some posters, bullshit buttons, etc to hand out to participants. Possibly some 'phones too.   17. Stay tuned. they sound like cans - horrible - A. It's a cell phone video B. It's on the CES show floor. We demo'd a newer version of this recently and they were right there with speakers in our own lineup that are much more expensive.

  19. Our photo guy - Philly D - updated the on-white product photography in all finishes, grilles on/off and multiple angles for the Klipschorn, La Scala, Cornwall and Heresy.   20. I would second this notion. These aren't speakers that are going to being outdated with technology. Their sound is simply timeless and this style of speaker is actually coming back into fashion if you care about that sort of thing. Only a few companies out there like Klipsch still make them like this and you happen to have something that even we don't make anymore. You (or your family) may buy speakers from another company down the road that cost $1000 (which may be all you can get for these) and I GUARANTEE these speakers will outperform them 10x over. Of course, I should never tell you what to do with your assets because we have all needed money from time to time. I just wanted to offer up some food for thought.
  21. Hi Sancho, Thanks for the feedback. We are just outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Wondering why being unfinished makes them desirable? Terri Because you can stain it whatever you want to match your other speakers or your furniture or whatever. The condition is what impresses me most.
