  1. Michael you will only be able to use pcm for your avr if using the fat PS3 but the onkyo should read pcm and display that then you will know you are using the discrete channels only
  2. I'm on par with scrappy not a matrixing guy I like/prefer discrete channels that were mixed purely and originally by the studio.
  3. Would these kpt mounted on the curling be a better employment for Atmos like in their Atmos theaters I'd rather or I'm planning to go that route in the future
  4. this is exactly what I feel is going to happen with the new speakers tby becoming more appeasing to the general consumer rather than the critical enthusiast such as ourselves.
  5. Happy the new projector is working well for you buddy
  6. I love calibrating man. It's always fun to make the toys sweeter. I spent quite a bit of time doing it with my jvc. Then I had to make adjustments when I placed the anamorphic lens in place due to the increased brightness.
  7. My room is all over the place with pink noise. RF-7ii's sound different than RC-64ii sound different than RS-62ii. I can confirm that they don't mesh up nearly as well as three identical THX's. Used to be able to hear seamless panning across the front. That's gone now. another great reason in having three Identical speakers across the front when possible of course. A third rf7ii is not easily placed for most.
  8. I love this information this forum provides I learn something knew everyday
  9. this makes a huge impact on panning and imaging. I know once I brought my 3 kl650s down to ear level and behind my screen with the left and right toed in to the MLP it made for a perfect front sound stage behind the screen.
  10. Isn't this the truth most people are t interested or wouldn't even remotely be able to comprehend the time and dedication it takes to achieve the true jaw on the floor experience. I'm not talking about someone with a surround sound system they slapped thogether either I mean true jaw on the ground immersion takes a lot of learning and testing and then application to get there. Anyone can put together a 5.1 or 7.4 etc system but to tie it together just rift it takes PPP on this forum or other forums to get there. Most ppl don't care what's behind our big screens so I don't talk to them about it either.
  11. I was not a fan of wides or heights. I like the discrete 7.2 and eventually discrete Atmos in ceiling speakers for the future.
  12. I don't know Derrick after obtaining 5 and 10hz in my room I'm not sure I could go without it anymore I have become spoiled on the ULF. In 4500 cf certain sealed options can work to pressurize it still.
  13. The darbee comes into play when the display is much larger. On a smaller display of 70" or less it isn't as notice ale but when you get to 100" screens and above it shows it value and worth. I have tested it on my 70" elite LED TV and then on my 120" to the 163" and it truly becomes essential for projector owner s IMO
  14. Be sure to pack the first aid kit............ Taz you beat me to it man
  15. The only forum I have been a part of and feel the urge to see how everyone is doing each day I come on here usually multiple times.
  16. I like the idea for your particular situation trying the svs in home trial with one sub in your price range and see what you think. You may be happy with one where some of us are not happy with even 4 lol.
  17. Don't lie to the lad, he just joined. What you really meant to tell him is that you would add another 3 subs down the road. Welcome to the forums PaulV. ok I won't lie. Sell that piddly 12" sub and buy 4 18's. Cause that is the only place to be in bass land. Lol Amen. Also matching the front 3 I believe is better than just upgrading your center. If you do upgrade to the rc62ii then ID match your front towers to it keeping the tweeters across the front identical I can't tell you how important this is
  18. For my theater my eyes are dead center maybe just below it. My 70" elite TV is mounted over my fireplace but we don't sit and watch we usually are standing in the kitchen or at the breakfast table or counter top so about 15 to 30 feet away. I believe distance may play a factor into how high you may like it.
  19. The new items look interesting but nothing on here I would replace my THX Ultra 2 speakers with in my theater. I'd like an option for THX ultra 2 Atmos in wall speaker for the fielding in the future that would be the only future purchase I could think of.
  20. I have never heard the Cornwells before To be honest neither of the two rooms had any terminates in them and i know above and beyond everything that is one of the most import things. I spent months researching and treating my room appropriately during my build for my theater. The first setup used two Krell amps but with a yamaha AVR and i'll be the first to say I'm not a yamaha fanboy at all. The second setup used a Macintosh tube pre and Macintosh 2 channel amp. He also did a side by side comparison with the P39s and the Lascalas i purchased. I preferred the lascars for music but we didn't do any movie testing. Im not sure of any equalizing he did but Im a strong believer of equalizing any setup and treating its environment. There was no eq and darn sure no room treatments Michael. Just plugged them in and let them rip. FYI etc6849 bought my Palladiums. My Cornwalls are taking care of me right now and sound really nice with the Mc front end....... You didn't have those that long did you? Would you say the cornwalls are close in sq?
