  1. Seymour says .5db which I have attested to and the room correction software Took care of it there is literally no audible difference from my ears once the calibration finished at sweep and Michael I have 12 feet from my eyes to the screen and it's not until around 7 feet that you can see the weave with glasses on and the projector on
  2. Attached are a few photos with the acoustic transparent masking panels in place they slide in and magnets take hold to the screen Frame on the sides top and bottom the material is called Millbel and it is nearly identical to the screen itself The frame of these is made out of aluminum same as the frame of the screen and it is bordered with a 2 inch velvet premium border same as the frame to match.
  3. I say if it is good enough for the movie theaters it's good enough for me I can't see the weave on mine at 12.6 feet away
  4. So far it works beautifully I have only watched 16:9 content to test it out and adjust the projector (I need to add photos of the screen with the masking panels on for all to see). I haven't tried any 2.35:1 content as I'm waiting on my anamorphic lens. I don't think the zoom method would be good to test on it since It is so large
  5. Here is my build thread https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/152019-mikeys-build-thread-round-3/page-3#entry1802496
  6. And the final product the screen installed and mounted with the LCR and dual JTR captivator S2 subwoofers tucked neatly in their alcove out of sight. Viewing distance from the screen is 12.6 feet with the projector a full 2 fee further back at 14.6' recessed behind me. The screen is massive in the room and gives the sense of immersion you get in a IMAX theater which was what i was going for.
  7. before mounting to the wall a few pics of it free standing (thanks to the curve) on the carpet.
  8. a nice clear picture of the rack and it's equipment
  9. A few updates with the now complete theater and i will be starting a new thread to give a detailed review on AT screens and their physics! The new screen is finally installed and i have nothing but positive things to say about Seymour AV and their customer service. Jon Kaisand was a pleasure to deal with through the entire process and the build quality on this screen is on par with the Stewart. Note the Stewart frame mounted together with 4 L brackets and Seymour mounted with 8 L brackets just skinner ones so they double up on each corner. The material and velvet are both equal in terms of quality IMO. I also thought it was neat when the 15' box arrived it said made in the USA by Robots lol. Anyway this is my first AT screen and i seriously wish i would have taken several members suggestions on going this route from the beginning. i Have numerous photos of my babies (speakers) in their alcove behind the screen for viewing purposes but I really have fallen into the group of enjoy8ing having them out of sight and behind the screen like in the theater. The screen is a C-150 model with is Seymours Curved 163" screen. The packaging was pretty incredible and i also purchased the Millbel acoustically transparent masking panels for watching 16:9 1.85:1 or 1.78:1 content. For those interested in pricing they screen doesn't come cheap with it being $2480 and the masking panels were an additional $350 but they did send me a pen, a key chain and bag of popcorn which i thought was funny but neat. This screen is a 2.37:1 ratio which is a little different from the 2.35:1 and the reasoning is because of the curvature it is made to be paired with a anamorphic lens which we known cases a slight bowtie pincushion effect. The 2.37:1 screen fixes this and creates the perfect ratio to lens pair. I will give a separate review of the pic quality / audio quality with the new Panamorph UH480 lens once it arrives. It will have been my first anamorphic lens and hopefully not something that is upgrade often as from what i understand they are a precision cut piece of glass that can be used with most and future projectors. anyway enough out of me i just wanted to give some background info on the equipment and i will also be adding a link with a video walkthrough of the entire theater and all the equipment inside.
  10. Pioneer elites are excellent but I have really come to grow on NAD and I would give both a listen before siding on one
  11. Anthem avrs are probably the rest rated that I have read. I use there separates with the Anthem d2v and it's the best sounding processor I have heard so I'm sure their avrs are very good as well. Next choice would be pioneer elite or onkyo
  12. Of each and every projector I have seen I personally am partial to the JVCs I have owned 2 and their black levels and 2d picture Quality are on par with the old Pioneer elite plasmas and Kuros. For your room Mike I would suggest trying to find a used JVC projector to me they are top notch and the best out there until you get into the next leagues with Sim2 etc. I also have been fairly impressed with Sony's projectors those would be my next suggestion can't wait for you to start your project and have your huge new screen up and running
  13. My screen arrives tomorrow morning i will post pictures tomorrow and give impressions of the audio tomorrow
  14. Price drop 1250 for the Stewart screen for a member.
  15. A quic pic of the legrand adorne lighting system. Indicator lights on each switch allow you to see your way to them in the pitch dark movie viewing experience. Also the vintage Dolby sign is wired to the lighting system and turns on with the sconce lighting. Screen is on order Monday.
  16. Yes sir for about a month ha an nad pre pro on them they are stunning but In the garage it was to many reflective surfaces. I'd rather them see a new home as I usually use my klipsch headphones for music and I'm more of a theater fanatic.

  18. Can't wait to have you down mike. To bad wake couldn't join
  19. I like the look of them both ways but have always had grilles on (no kids or pets). My lcr and Subs in my theater will have no grills but be behind an AT screen. If there were in the open I'd have grillls on them.
  20. I am going to put the order in for the new screen shortly the "wall of sound effect" has new meaning now with a wall filled with speakers inside it.
  21. I'm back!! I tend to disappear when I'm in project mode and I get tunnel vision on my work. I have had contractors complete my recessed shelf installing a header and footer and I have since put 3 coats of paint on the shelf and interior walls. Next up is time for the big screen to be ordered. Going with a 162" 2.37:1 curved AT screen from Seymour. It will be used in conjunction with a panamorph uh480 lens.
  22. Bill has been an absolute pleasure through all of this. Once again the gorillas at FedEx are to blame here.
  23. I got 12 awg wife but the integrated amp I removed ended up being faulty and had to be hipped back. I'm in the process of hunting down an NAD integrated.
