There's a company named Forward Air. I've used them to ship heavy items. The only hassle is they don't deliver, you have to pick up at the station (usually near the local airport), the sender would have to drop it off at the local station (usually near the local airport). The items would have to be strapped to a palet. The price is pretty cheap though. If I remember correctly, the price is approximately $60-65 per 100lbs. For example, I shipped a car engine with a bunch of other parts strapped to a palet from Portland, OR to Canton, OH. The total came out to $210 with insurance coverage for $3500.

I am gauging interest in my system. I will be selling in the next month or so. All speakers are in great condition, color is black for everything. Front speakers: RF-82s 1st gen Center: RC-64 1st gen Rear speakers: RB-3s with stands Subwoofer: SVS PC-12plus. This is a great sounding system and is ready for someone to hook up to their receiver and enjoy. I love this system, but I've gone to the dark side and started down the road of building speakers. I am located in Portland, OR 97236. Willing to travel within reasonable distance to help meetup or deliver. I prefer to not ship, but would be willing to if really needed. Get the 82s. The difference in price is worth it. Will the 62s sound good? Yes. Will the 82s sound better? Yes. Shop around and you'll find the right deals. I ran an RC-3with my 82s and thought it sounded good. Then I switched to a RC-64 and regret I didn't do so ages ago. Buy the best one that fits your budget.

I agree. The Reference line currently has the RF-42, RF-52, RF-62, RF-82, then jumps to the RF-7, with a huge price jump. I personally think there should be something in the middle between the RF-82 and the RF-7. You get plenty of options if you look at the low end of the Reference line, but when you get up to the high end, you only have two choices. I guess what I'm saying is why have so many choices for the low end Reference line, with minimal price difference, then not many options for the high end.

I'm relatively new on here, so take my opinion for what it's worth. I've own a few Yamahas in the last 12 years. Most of them are mid-line ones. I was given a Yamaha DSP-A1 a few years ago as a gift. I've been enjoying the heck out of it. While it's way outdated technology wise, it still sounds great. I've been looking around at possibly upgrading to a new receiver with HDMI and such. I work within minutes from a huge electronic store, so I run over there and test out their receivers all the time during my lunch breaks. I've tried all the Onkyos that you've listed, tried the Denons, Tried the newer Yamaha. So far my favorite is the Harman Kardon line. I think they're are more musical compared to the other brands. The HK AVR-3650 or AVR-3600 would likely be my next purchase. Give the HK line a listen.

Did you have your receipt to get the warranty? Just curious.

You should be fine with a PC12-NSD. I have an older PC12-Plus with the 525W Bash amp, not the new ones with the 800W amp. I have my bass gain set at 50% and it get plenty of bass. Unless you have a big room you're trying to fill, the PC12-NSD should do just fine.

Greetings all, My current system consist of RF-82 front speakers, RC-3 Center, RF-3 rears, and a SVS PC-12Plus subwoofer. All powered by an older Yamaha DSP-A1. I have the bass gain set on the receiver set at 0, and the gain at the subwoofer's amp at 1/2 way. Watching movies are great. Plenty of bass, the subwoofer goes real low and shakes everything. When listening to music in two channel stereo, is a different story. I feel as though my bass is very boomy and the bass also overpowers everything else. This is my first real powered subwoofer, it has all sorts of settings on the back. Everything is set at factory settings. I don't even know where to start playing with these settings. I've read up on isolation pads for subwoofers to help relieve some boomyness. I'll be building one this weekend. In the meantime, does anybody here have this subwoofer and can recommend settings to help out? Thanks,

Who has the best deals on RF-7II that you gentlemen have found? I've been thinking of getting some RF-83s, but the prices people want for the RF-83s are close to new RF-7s. I'm thinking I may have to go that rout instead.

The sound quality is great. The looks of a cylindrical subwoofer is growing on me slowly. Deep down inside I think I still prefer a box style subwoofer. As of now, the sound quality is making up for everything else. Every time I turn the system on, I forget the physical aspect of the unit.

Very nice! I wanted that sub, but got a killer deal on the PC12-plus. I bet the bass from those two is enough to shake the whole neighborhood.

Oh the really funny thing is. When I had the Bose Acoustimass system, I thought it was nice that the sub would make picture frames rattle a little on wall. Once I hooked up the SVS. I felt earthquakes! Can't believe I use to think Bose was great.

Hi, I'm pretty new to this forum and high end stereo equipment. This forum has been very helpful. I've been building my first real HT system. I had a Bose Acoustimass system for years and decided to get rid of it and step up. My system has been a budget build and I've been piecing it together. So far My system consist of: RF-82s Fronts RC-3 Center SVS PC-12 Plus Subwoofer Yamaha DSP-A1 I got the RF-82 and RC-3 barely used and not broken in yet for $425 I got the SVS PC-12 Plus for $420 The Yamaha DSP-A1 was given to me a few years ago to power the Bose speakers. It's a great reciever, the sound quality is great. However it's old technology now. My current room set up is not optimal, as my TV and speaks are in a corner of the room. However, I'll be purchasing a new house within the next year and will be particular about an entertainment room layout. My question is what would be more of a benefit to me or what will I notice the most result with? Upgrading the Yamaha DSP-A1 to a newer receiver, or getting some Klipsch RC42 or RC52 for surround speakers?

An update. I got my hands on a pair of RF-82 for $350 and the guy also had a RC-3 for an additional $75. The RF-82 were the originals on the series 2, the guy said he listened to them no more than 30 hours, and that they're not even broken in yet. I grabbed both and they sound great. To my surprise, the RF-82 is huge. I hooked it up and played some music with it, and they sound amazing. A special thanks to member Shake777 for all the advice and pointers he has given me. I feel really bad for backing out on a deal I had going with him, but this deal was local. Thanks again Nic.

Do you not have a Klipsch sub because you do not feel the need for one, or are other brands of subs that you feel are better? Enlighten me please.

I really like your room layout. The two recesses on each side of the fireplace is perfect for tower speakers.

Hello all, I've been a long time lurker around here but finally signed up to post. I've owned a Bose Acoustimass system for years, thinking it was a pretty good system. A few weeks ago I heard a Klipsch Synergy system and was amazed. I tossed around the idea of upgrading away from my Bose system. Last weekend, I decided that I can toss ideas around forever and nothing will happen unless I do something about it. I posted up my Bose system for sale and sold it. This is where the addiction starts....and my search for a new speaker system starts I currently have a Yamaha DSP-A1 receiver. It's a little outdated technology, but it still puts out good sound quality and will serve it's purpose until I save up for a new receiver. I started looking at the Synergy speakers (F20 and F30) due to the affordability of them. Then I start reading the review on here and now I'm leaning towards the RF series speakers (RF-62 & 82). They're a little more money, but sounds like they're noticeably better. My questions are: Is the RF-82 worth the extra money over the RF-62? Is the RW-12D worth the extra money for the KSW-12? I use my system for 80% HT and 20% music. The setup will be in my Living Room, which is relatively large, approximately 20x22. My planned system is: Yamaha DSP-A1, RF-62 / RF-82, RC-62, RW-12D, RS-52 Anybody have any input or feedback on the system I'm planning? This will be my first "real" HT system. It'll be somewhat of a budget setup. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
