  1. As I sit in my cubicle in our company cube farm leading my middle class life...I think it a lot harsh to demonize some of these wealthy folks. Many of these folks started with nothing but an idea in their parents basement/garage and turned it into a very successful business. These business provide employment and benefits which support significant numbers of workers. To me, if you can come up with the idea, see it through, take all of the big risks of failure, and then see it blossom...kudos. Those folks deserve to reap the rewards of their labor. It's easy to criticize from the peanut gallery what they do with their money...but neither you or I have taken the risks that they've taken nor have we come up with that valuable idea/process that they came up with. If we want to live in a communist society where everyone is capped at a certain level for every idea, see how much innovation that will lead to. I didn't see Silicon Valley housed in the USSR/Cuba/N Korea/etc. You can also decry the "donation" of their wealth, but why don't you use Google and actually read about where some of it is going before you criticize. Providing clean water to people in third world countries...I'd say that's a noble project. Providing valuable funding for research to cure deadly diseases...I don't think that should be criticized. If it's your money, spend it/donate it how you like, but don't criticize someone else for how they choose to donate their wealth...especially when you & I live in the richest country in the world...our poor are still richer than much of the world.
  2. The parts guy with his insistence that lower power causes voice coil problems is not good. That shouldn't happen...especially from someone working the parts phone.
  3. I think it's less an indictment on Klipsch as a company and more an "audio" distributor that doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. I've run across guys like this in many walks of life...they'll tell you something patently false because 99% of Joe Public has no idea and won't call them on it. Pretty sad, but they get away with it.
  4. Will blend perfectly with your 4s.
  5. If you're going to make compromises, the center and sub are the two places you don't want to do it. I seriously doubt that you'll be happy with the g16 in that configuration. Just my $0.02
  6. Difficult to find but not impossible. Great speaker and incredible in between CF 3/4.
  7. Thankful for health, family, friends, and all that the good Lord has blessed us with. Also thankful for the good people I've met and run across in this forum.

    Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Safe travels to all that are heading out.
  9. The link from Bill or Craigslist should help in finding a good 62ii.
  10. Welcome to the forum. I know this won't help as size is a consideration, but you'd be better off with an RC 62ii as your center than the RP 440. The 62 was built for the speaker line you have, while the 440 is built for the current RP line. Not to say it can't work, but you may notice the difference. In my opinion the 62 is also a better center then the 440, but maybe someone else feels differently. Just a thought...
  11. There's your issue...needs more space for air to circulate/heat to dissipate.
  12. So you're saying that for only $2800 I can get a 4.0 system? Wow!!! What a deal...lol
  13. Me thinks they'll be available for awhile...
  14. Is the $500 for the camera body only or do you want a lens with that. Because, that will greatly affect what you can get for sub $500.
  15. I believe one of the local radio stations begins their switch to all Christmas music on Monday. Seems like it gets earlier every year.
  16. Yeah. It would be nice to try and work a plan to meet. I'm more than willing to drive on up! I know we're entering the crazy season, so if next year works better??? I think that'd be fun also. Probably right in that it'd be best to plan something for after New Year's. Mr. Due, you're certainly welcome to join...maybe we can crank the Epic's up a little bit.
  17. In my experience the changes really weren't that big of a deal. For Episode IV or all of them?Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk On IV-VI. It just wasn't that big of a deal. Maybe you'll feel differently but it didn't amount to much for me.
  18. Some great advice has been dispensed so far, but I think what you said above is key. I recently bought a DSLR to take pictures of my daughter's indoor sports, vacations, etc. as we got tired of blurry photos from cell phone and point & shoot cameras. A solid DSLR body with good glass is what you need in order to freeze frame these shots. Glass is the most important part...I'd rather have great lenses on an average body than the other way around. The glass is what makes the picture. The suggestion to buy the DSLR body used is a very good one...one I think you should consider. You can get a nearly new camera that someone maybe took a couple hundred pictures with but then never used again for well over half off retail. Most of these will come in the original box with all the original accessories...just like a new one. After that, you can spiral down the well of lenses...that's where you'll want to really do your homework and figure out exactly what you want to accomplish in your picture taking. Lenses have different strengths and weaknesses depending on what you'll use them for. A little reading up will go a long way. I just started down the road a few months ago, but it's amazing how much and quickly you can pick up. It seems overwhelming at first but some reading and a lot of trial and error really helps. Go with a setup that feels good to you in your hands...I have Nikon, but there's little actual difference between Nikon & Canon...despite what others may say. I just preferred how the Nikon felt and I like a couple of the features it had. Good luck...
  19. In my experience the changes really weren't that big of a deal.
  20. God Bless and thanks for your service!
