  1. I love the Parasound HCA stereo amps from that era!
  2. I recently acquired a second pair of oak KG4, which I figured I'd possibly stack for fun. I replaced the old electrolyic caps and installed Crites Ti diaphragms. I noticed that one pair has ferrofluid in the tweeters, while the other does not. I don't recall my other KG4 pair from long ago, having the fluid. I left it alone for now, since it wasn't dried up and still wet. Do any other KG4 users have the fluid, or can comment on if it makes any audible difference? Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the heads up on the sale. I've been meaning to buy another spool of this cable. It sounds great with Klipsch!
  4. Those vintage Kenwoods look fantastic and sound just as great. GLWS!

    SOLD

The 2220 is a great sounding receiver! It's sound quality is up the same high standards as the highly regarded 2230. GLWS
  6. Oh gosh! I wasn't aware of this. So sad 😔. He was so knowledgeable!
  7. I agree, the Ti diaphragms are great. Swapped them in KG 3.5, KG4, KLF10, Tangent 5000, Chorus 2... Always sounds more open and addictive.
  8. Link https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/ele/d/entire-system-for-sale/6603648075.html. I'm a big T5000 fan. Floor-standing Heresy 2 sound with big bass.
  9. Well, they went for $475. Maybe they would have sold for more if they had shown the woofers inside. Anyone here get them? Too far for me, and that pickup time window is ridiculous.
  10. My guess, they'll end up going for $1000. Who knows what woofer is in there.
  11. What did you strip them with? Looks great!

    .

I'm sick of Monoprice running out of stock immediately. I tried to buy a spool of OFC 12g speaker cable, the main item on my order, and they told me out of stock after shipping out the other items. They're always out of stock on it, and it said IN stock when I placed the order. Just cancel my damned order next time so I don't have to pay shipping again. The amps look great, if you can actually get your hands on one. End of rant!
  13. Yes! Deoxit! 2330B is one of my absolute favorites. Definitely give that shot. There are a lot of switches and buttons that need to be cleaned over time.
  14. Check for a fuse, like Peter recommended. It's not uncommon for the power switches to go bad on these too. I had to replace the one on mine. They're not expensive.
  15. It's fun to see these Speakerlab threads, even though they copied Klipsch 😉. Their upper-tier speakers are pretty awesome.
  16. Wow, what a beauty! Congrats to you both, from another vintage receiver fan 😀.
  17. That's handy that you can adjust the autoformer for the 8 ohm EV midrange. They actually did make 16 ohm versions of the DH1A as well as the neodymium version N/DYM 1-16. Both use the same diaphragm. The neodymium version is great too, weighing in at about six pounds versus twenty-something for the DH1A.
