  1. That's handy that you can adjust the autoformer for the 8 ohm EV midrange. They actually did make 16 ohm versions of the DH1A as well as the neodymium version N/DYM 1-16. Both use the same diaphragm. The neodymium version is great too, weighing in at about six pounds versus twenty-something for the DH1A.
  2. How are you liking the EVs? Did you have to lower the midrange level at all? I'm assuming they're 16 ohm, like the original Klipschorn midrange.
  3. Very cool. What crossover are you using?
  4. Sweet! Are you going to try a 2-way setup, or are you using them as midrange only?
  5. Great job! 😀 Much better than the original industrial color with logo. We know they're EVs underneath 😉. I stuck some black tape pieces on the mounting holes from the back, which covers the holes if you don't need to see them. Those DH1A are really nice.
  6. Enjoy fighting over this? Sounds like douchebag seller IMHO. Cool to see the speaker, though!
  7. No problem. I think the texture works out well too.
  8. That was just a quick paint job with Rustoleum hammered spray paint. There's a little dust on them in the picture.
  9. I actually did spray paint my HP640 with a hammered finish, I believe bronze. Turned out pretty good. Very nice sounding horns, I still have them.
  10. The backs can't simply be re-glued? The Atlas diaphragm apparently fits the EV by removing the gasket. I understand the EV driver doesn't have original manufacturer parts for them anymore. I'm curious if anyone has tried them with new Atlas diaphragms, and compared to the other dual phase plug units. Thanks
  11. Looks good! Does it fit the Chorus woofer cutout?
  12. For some reason, the EV-made dual-phase plug K55M don't seem to bring the high $$ that the Atlas-made dual-phase plug K55V does. Since we know from Bob Crites that that K55M can accept K55V diaphragms with minor modifications, has anyone compared the EV with new diaphragms, or even without? Just curious!
  13. Bob Crites shows how to fit Atlas K55V diaphragms into K55M on his website. Those are still available. https://critesspeakers.com/rebuilding_a_k-77m.html
  14. Craigslist is rough. I've posted items on there recently, way below Ebay pricing. All I get is low-ball offers from flippers. Good luck though!
  15. Where can you buy those horns without drivers? I'd like to try those, but have plenty of drivers already. Looks sweet.
  16. Great speakers! I'm still impressed at how big they sound. Added some bass eq and they were rattling my bedroom. Good luck with your sale!
  17. Let us know what you think of them, with new diaphragms installed. I wonder how much difference can be attributed to fresh diaphragms.
  18. I have both, and I think they're both great! Even better with Crites Ti. I recapped mine also, with Jantzen poly caps and Dayton house brand electrolytic caps from Parts Express. I'd definitely check out the KG4s if the price isn't much different, however.
  19. Don't feel too bad. They probably sold for a lot more than 850.
  20. That's unreal. I'm sure the price will be bid up by collectors/flippers.
  21. Yikes, those a little rough for that kind of money. Maybe it's just the dented-in dust caps.
