  1. I have up for sale for the following: McIntosh Preamp C39 - in very good condition 8. The preamp had new light bulbs replacement this year. The preamp perform flawlessly with no issues. It has no dings, dents or scratches on the cabinet or face plate. It's been well-cared for as second owner. This is the version with balanced and un-balanced ouputs. Asking $1350 Harman Kardon HK990 Integrated Amp - in like new condition complete with all original boxes, remote and power cord. The unit was bought in 2003 as brand new for $1999. This is the greatest integrated amp Harman Kardon made. Asking $1250 Both of these amps were used with my Klipsch Cornwalls and they were a great match. I'm updating to Mac Integrated amp MA7000. I can take Paypal with 3% surcharge, personal checks or bank check. I will include ground shipping in continental USA for the items above. I have both gear from this forum but have not sold anything. Thanks for looking
  2. I emailed you today. please check . thanks.
  3. hi Randy, I email you via klipsch forum and didnt hear back. let me know if the mc275 still available for sale
  4. I have pretty good luck with kimber silver streak interconnects, mcintosh preamp and amp, Kimber 8TC as speaker cables. I found that my cw II love mcintosh solid state and silver interconnects. I get very tight bass with them and the mid range details are outstanding. The issue of loose bass you have might be tied to electronics, interconnects and speaker cables. Iwouldspend more on int and speaker cables you will definitely get the tight bass back.
  5. I have a pair of CW II and have been trying to get grille to stay on the speakers with little success. I have changed the velcro straps they will stay on for couple days and then peeled off. CW owners have you used the magnets to keep the grille on? Please share your experience. Thanks in advance.
  6. There is a white paper review on the Cornwall I/II in www.computeraudiophile.com where the reviewer detailed his measuremnets and listening tests.
  7. The woofer I ordered from Klipsch came in couple days ago so I've been listening to my new old pair of Cornwall II through my system. My current system consists of McIntosh MS300 music server, MX119 pre/pro, MR7083 and MC275 version V, Kimber 12TC, Audioquest colorado and MIT cvt2. I also have on hands Forte II and CF3 for comparison. What I've found so far are: the music seems to flow very naturally regardless of genres the mid range is to die for - so much details I could hear various intonations in the voice each instrument in the song has its own beautiful tone to it. the bass is concise and very natural beautiful details at low volume - my Mac vol scale from 0-100 and I listen to them at 15 in 15X18ft room ability to bring out complex song (various instruments going on at the same time) in a very pleasant manner - larger drivers may be? I got a chance to look at the xover while changing out the woofer and was amazed at how simple it is. The speakers are so efficient I'm tempted to try out the Nelson Pass first amp series. I went through lots of speakers over the years from Dalquist, Vandersteen, Quad, Magnepan, B&W, Zu audio now I know what I have been missing - the HORN. I will never go back to tower speakers larger drivers speakers are the way to go for me.With smaller drivers you tend to crank up the volume louder and louder to resolve clariities as result your ears will ring more often --> listener fatigue. Less efficient speakers(multiple drivers/tower speakers) also require larger amps to drive them as well. I will leave the Cornwall II alone with no mods since I want to retain that original K sounds. I've seen Mac owners try to mod the amps and ended up with a so so amps that neither fish nor fowl. By the way while waiting on line for Klipsch parts dept I heard this ad from Klipsch - "PK philosophy is to create an emotional connection to your music" . Guess what I'm getting that with Cornwall II.
  8. Make sure the speaker terminals are tightened. Mine were loose when I bought them and yes they were pretty lean on the top end.
  9. I just bought a pair of Cornwall II and the only thing I did to them is order one woofer from Klipsch to replace the bad one and that's it. I agree with other posters if they work fine leave them alone and enjoy the music. Happy listening.
  10. I would order all the parts from Klipsch. I think K still carries all parts for Lascala. I order a woofer for my Cornwall II this morning from K and it turned out the woofer is interchangeable for IIs vs IIIs. I paid $150 for the 15" woofer shipped + local tax so I think K is pretty reasonable parts wise. For the money I would just order all parts from K for Lascala II. The speaker is going for $3500 each right now! I suspect you'll have yourself a lascala II for way less than $7000. Enjoy the project!
  11. I don't see anytthing significant from the thread you included. Regardless of what drivers K uses the drivers will need to output anywhere from 38hz to 20khz. if I am correct the IIIs has bi-wire option with rectangular plate terminal while the IIs has a round one. The Cornwall design was/is so good that very little change happens over the year. I can order from Klipsch the new xover for the IIIs for $104 each brand new. Now with the new xover from the IIIs I wonder if I could hear the difference between the IIs and IIIs $900 vs $4000?
  12. Hi OldMako, I have the same thing. I have a pair of Forte II (up for sale) and pair of CF3 which I like better than Forte II withh fuller sound, more bass and better imaging. I currently have Mac 275 tube amp driving the units. I talked Klipsch parts dept this morning and they told me I can get new Cornwall II xover for $104 each. I'm tempted to replace the Cornwall II with these. Wonder if I can hear the $4000 sound from Cornwall III with my II's
  13. I can order the new Cornwall III xover for $104 each from Klipsch. I would assume better sounds for my Cornwall II. Has anyone try to do this? Thanks Charles
  14. I bought of pair Cornwall II over the weekend and one with a bad woofer. I ordered a new woofer from Klipsch parts this morning. It turned out that woofer for Cornwall III will fit the II so I'm in good shape. I currently own a pair of Forte II and CF3s. I'm dying to know if Cornwall II will beat them.My Cornwall come with brown beige cane grill and walnut finish. I've been looking for a pair of Cornwall IIs for awhile and they're harder to find than the I's which I don't care for.
