That’s a huge jump and not worth the difference. Here in the states there is not that big of a difference. Either something isn’t right and your dealer is off their rocker, or the markup on RP series is a joke down there

Sending you a pm

Yeah that was an April fools joke

Would you be willing to make a drive and possibly meet? I’m around the kcmo area. I think Chicago is about an 8 hour drive. I currently have bookshelves but wouldn’t mind having towers

What’s a “great deal”? How cheap you looking to score a pair for?
-
If you are looking at Klípsch models get the R-115 and nothing less. It’s a great sub for the money. Is up @MetropolisLakeOutfitters On pricing for one. He’s a stand up member and an authorized dealer.

Garage sale section would be better spotnfor this. Price would help. Pics would really help. I’d recommend both if you want to stir any interest. @Youthman can you move his post??

It’s scary. I’ve done it lots of times. Always a little nerve-wracking.

That receiver of his would EASILY power a set of 5 rb-81ii or RP-160ms. Set them small, cross then at 60-80hz. And have a good sub and he would be golden.

@MetropolisLakeOutfitters Can you help this man out?

I have seen them but they were hooked up at the time. Install store up in Oregon when i lived in San Diego. Id probably go the bigger route though with the 7800.

I'm not denigrating the quality of his receiver. I am just saying that he is working with a 7 amp receiver rated at 105 watts per amp. I think he won't be happy with the sound he will get from RP280F's or RB8ii's (specced for 150 watts continuous, 600 watts peak). Even RP-160M's as surrounds are on the big side at 100 watts continuous, 400 watts peak.
If he is in love with that receiver, and in love with those speakers, I would actually go with a 3.1 setup and bi-amp the LCR channels. Then he'd be working with 210 watts.
My opinion, but I don't want to recommend a setup where he ends up under-driving his speakers and then wonders why he isn't getting the best sound out of them.
Boy i could not disagree more. Bi-amping from an avr is pointless and a waste of time. Sometimes it can actually do more harm than good.

So I’m confused. Do the rf-5 towers you are getting have the horn AND Hf driver from the rc-7 in them? Were any crossover components changed to make this happen?
-
Amen to that. I have lots of stuff doing the same thing.

Yes; seems to "blow away" the 1" tweeters in the "consumer" series. And I've got the B&C DE-78-8 drivers ... which seem to be "preferred."
Cheers, Emile
I think you mean the de-75. That’s what mine are as well.

Anyone? Have Cornwall's and tried Khorns ... all with mid and hi range tweeters. But ... these(SINGLE) horns just blow them away. Is it because they are 2" (not sure ... could be 3") diaphragm horns??
Cheers, Emile
2" throat. 3" voice coil

well now you are talking about solving a problem with magnepan or other planar speakers. klipsch doesnt make anything like that.
