  1. https://charlotte.craigslist.org/ele/d/charlotte-klipsch-reference/7023578129.html RF-83s, RC-62, RS -42s - $1250 No affiliation.
  2. Wanna give a shout out to working with Carl. Bought all 4 surrounds and it was a much needed upgrade. His packing was top notch - even as I watched the delivery guy trip over nothing and drop the entire box to the ground. Sounds great and can keep up with my La Scalas. Another successful transaction with a Klipsch forum member.
  3. Looking forward to going to the victory parade Saturday! Fun Fact: Two years ago after the victory parade, we played UVA in basketball at noon. This Saturday? We play UVA in basketball at noon.
  4. I have an Epson 3500 on a 120" screen and I'll echo what others have said - the source material is crucial. Regular cable looks worse on my projector than the LED TV next to it. For movies, I went from a PS3 fatty for Blu Rays to a X Box One X with 4K and what a difference that made. Blade Runner 2049 in 4K looked incredible!
  5. Maybe a little far in advance, but figured I'd post anyway. The last week of April I'll be traveling from Greenville, SC to Louisville, KY and back. Got a F150 with a bed cap so I can easily fit 2 La Scalas and possibly more depending on what's being moved. Also, I do have room in my house to store some speakers if you can't get them right away.
  6. Don't know if your sensitive to the color wheel issue with DLP projectors - but the Optoma UHD 60 and 65 are in your budget too.
  7. I always keep 1495s in my humidor. A great bargain smoke.
  8. Gotta say - that eclipse was pretty cool.
  9. At work. Probably go outside and see it in the afternoon.
  10. @MetropolisLakeOutfitters Cory can point you in the right direction.
  11. Consider the Submaximus if you want a FLH instead of a tapped horn. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/155-diy-speakers-subs/1981369-gjhallerhorn-v2-submaximus-pair-uxl-s-3.html#post45063122 Scroll down to post 67 and see what a horn loaded 18 will do. The UXL 18 is $550 if you can find it in stock. I have a UXL 18 and toy around with building a Submaximus pretty often. I haven't done it yet, but maybe one day.
  12. Ford says to use 93 if you're towing but otherwise, there's not much difference in normal driving and even little difference in towing. I run 93 only because the tune I have requires it. Otherwise I'd just run 87. The power that you can get out of these Ecoboosts is fantastic - obviously at the risk of the engine. There are a slew of guys running high 12s and 13s in the quarter mile with just a tune...on full size 4x4 trucks. F-150 Forum is a solid place to learn a lot. I've saved a lot of money and time with some researching there. Ecoboost Forum is a secondary site to look at to also see what's going on. For my price range and year range, no other truck manufacturer offered the full 4 door cab with a 6.5ft bed. So it made the choice pretty easy for me. So far, no regrets.
  13. 2011 F-150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost and I'm running a 93 octane tune on it. Love the truck. 80,000 miles so far. I bought it used about a year and a half ago. I hate getting in and out of cars so for me, unless something crazy happens, a truck will always be my daily driver. I want a diesel truck, but don't tow often enough or heavy enough to warrant that. But it doesn't mean I can't dream about it!
  14. Anyone know the specs of what that truck was running?
  15. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/209-audio-gear/2636777-fs-feeler-2-danley-sh50-synergy-horns-single-sh69-center.html I've heard these in person and they sound fantastic.
  16. I don't know your room dimensions and I probably missed it (kinda scanned the thread), but if I had the room, I'd never go Khorns. ClaudeDJ1 has a great Quarter Pie horn design that'll dig low with better clarity and authority. I have 3 La Scalas across the front but my room is too small otherwise I'd so go for Quarter Pies under the LS. And to second Scrappy, if I had even more room, the Cinema line is the way to go for movies.
  17. I'll second this. I have two windows behind my screen that are completely blacked out with curtains. Even at high noon I wouldn't know there are windows behind the screen because of the curtains.
  18. Definitely late posting, but if any Klipsch members need a place to crash in South Carolina, gimme a holler. I'm up in Greenville and can host no problem. Don't have hookups for RVs/travel trailers but have room for them on my property in town. I have room in my house...if you can deal with my 3 La Scalas across the front.
  19. Many more responses than I expected! Thanks everyone! Gives me some perspective for sure. I currently only take 1 multivitamin about once every three days...mainly because my diet is pretty bad - a lot of fast food drive throughs. I admit that I am lazy. "Healthy foods" taste great to me, but the preparation time is what turns me off to it. So I end up hitting a drive through because it's fast and easy. The local British-racecar-engine-builder vapes heavily on a mary jane concoction. He was given 3 months to live after trying chemo, radiation, and surgery. Been kicking for 15 years driving like a boss. Sounds like I need to get back to running and lifting weights.
  20. Backstory as to my question - I just spent the past 4 days with my mom and 3 of her 4 siblings (54yrs through 62yrs, 1 male, 3 females, 1 female not present) at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I turned 29 earlier this month. For some reason, I was shocked to hear how many pills each of my aunts and uncles take per day. The lowest was my mom with 3 (1 multivitamin and 2 for blood pressure) all the way up to 20 pills per day for my aunt who believes in alternative medicine from her holistic chiropractor who advises her to take all-natural pills. My mom is the only sibling who exercises at all. Apart from my mom, the others took at least 10 pills per day for various issues.

  22. I have had 3 La Scalas across the front for about 4 years now. I had been using a HK 3600 to drive my 7.2 setup. I had a Sherbourn 7x150 sitting brand new in the box about 3 months ago and originally planned on testing all the channels and then selling it. Once I had the 3 La Scalas driven by the Sherbourn from the preouts of the HK, I immediately could tell a difference. No doubt in my mind. The sound was fuller with better clarity and yeah, if I got stupid with the volume, it'd crush the HK, but in all fairness, the Sherbourn should win hands down in that category. Far too often, I've heard adding an external amp is for crazy volume or it's a frivolous endeavor. The quality of sound that I now have is much better to me. The HK 3600 isn't a powerhouse of an AVR so maybe those with a higher end AVR don't need an external amp. As far as the future goes for me, I will have an external amp in my setup for at least the front 3.
