  1. NEED TO GET THE "VOLTIAUDIO" UPGRADES FOR THE CORNWALL MID HORN..IF YOU GET THE COMPLETE PACKAGE,THE CORNWALLS WILL SOUND ALOT BETTER THAN EVEN THE "ALLMIGHTY K-HORN"
  2. THEN,CRITES WOOFERS,CROSSOVERS, THE BIGGEST UPGRADE YOU CAN DO TO A PAIR OF CORNWALLS IS CHANGING THE MID HORN TO A "VOLTIAUDIO" MY BUDDY OWNS THAT LINE,AND HES KNOWS HIS STUFF!!!! HE IS THE BIGGEST SPEAKER,AND STEREO NUTT BESIDES ME!! CHECK OUT THE "SUPER CORNWALL" @ VOLTIAUDIO.COM!!!! NIT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY...NOTICE THAT THE UPGRADED CORNWALLS ARE 1980'S..LOL!! THATS WHAT IVE GOT.
  3. THIS IS AN REPLY TO AN OLD POST...DUDE,CHORUS II'S WILL BLOW THE DOORS CLEAN OFF THE BELLES!! IVE HAD 76 PAIRS OF KLIPSCH,ALL TOP NOTCH,AND MY TWO FAVS ARE,THE CORNWALL I'S,AND THE K-HORN'S!!! MY THIRD WOULD BE THE CHORUS II'S!! BELLES???? JUST A SAD EXCUSE OF A LA SCALA!! ITS THE LA SCALA IN A DRESS!! I STILL WOULD RATHER HAVE MY 1ST GEN CORNWALLS,THAT I HAVE ALL DONE UPGRADED,THEN EVEN THE K-HORNS!!! C-YAA
  4. THIS IS AN ANSWERTO A QUESTION THAT WAS ASKED 4 YEARS AGO..WHATWAS THE BEST YEAR FOR THE CORNWALLS....THE ANSWER IS 1980!! ITS THE ONLY YEAR KLIPSCH OFFERED THE K-55V WITH RARE WIRE TERMINALS SOLDERED INSTEAD OF THE PUSH BUTTON
  5. I've had about 68 pairs of klipsch speakers,"mostly heritage" I liked the klf-30's,but they wouldnt drop down to certain bass notes like my 1980 cornwalls.Nice speaker sound wise, but poor craftsmanship, and its not just the glue..
  6. You can get a new set of risers from critesspeakers.com,really cheap.I love myC1's,and Im going to do even more upgrades in the near future, like custom mid horns,"twice the size as stock ones". Volti audio sells the handmade horns for around $450,and they also sell the converters $90,so you can still use your stock 1" k-55v's.Volti audio also gave me some great advise on adding a middle support brace to the rear panel of my cabinets.
  7. I've never heard the cornwalls III's,but I've owned everyother heritage klipsch "except Belles",The chorus II's were great, better than the cornwall II's,"my opinion".The Klipschorn's are just a differant beast all together.I currently have a pair of cornwall I's,with Bob Crites type B crossovers,"rest is original".Later on Im going to update the woofers "bob Crites" and Im going to try and find a bigger midhorn, but keeping my k-55v's......I know a guy that builds speakers, and maybe he can build me a custom set???? If I had to choose only one speaker from klipsch it would be the cornwall's. If I had the $$$ to buy my dream speakers,I would have to say Jbl's or Volti's "made in maine" I heard a pair of Volti's,and I have to say.....I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!
  8. Hello, from age 17-28 I've had 72 pairs of klipsch,k-horns,lascala's.ectectect...I got out of it for a while....Nowat 35 I'm just getting back in to it slowly with a tight budget,"getting married".I just traded my klf-30's for a mint pair of cornwalls c.w.l. I couldnt believe the sound from the cornwalls. The klf 's sounded way better in the mids & highs. I replaced the tweeter diaphrams with the EV cups $35 each, and just ordered Bob Crites type B crossovers.I cant wait to see if it makes a big differance.I'm running an adcom 5500 with gtp- 450,I know,I know...not as good as my old 565 preamp & 565 mono blocks but $$$$ is short.I was wondering if the new crossovers will eliminate the distortion in the highs when turned up loud??? The klf-30's didnot distort!! Bass in cornwalls is awesome!!,but highs SUCK!! Are the k-55v's with soldered connections as good as the newer k-55m's??
  9. Hello,I was wondering if anyone can tell me what year my cornwalls are...serial # is 23u986.Thanks
  10. Ok...I got a little out of control, but klipsch cant put all the blame on the "hot melt".The klf cabinetsare a joke at best as far as quality goes!! The inside of my klf 30's is missing all the supports, "that should be there". They should be built to withstand the pressure of 2 -12's pounding away.Instead, the front and rear baffles are glued on to the cabinet by only the perimeter, with the exception of 2 8" pcs of 3/4"x3/4" in between the woofers. The 26 pcs of extra wood, and 24-1",#8 screws I added will hold them together till the very end. LOL!!!
  11. Im just a new guy around here, but I've had around 70 pairs of klipsch speakers. I am currently running my 97 klf-30's.They are "ok",but I would go back to k-horns,cornwalls,or even chorus II's.I'm not powering them with much either,"adcom gfa5500".My favorite setup was my adcom 565 mono blocks, adcom 565 preamp,c-6 cables with chorus II's,results.....AWESOME!!! I wasnt impressed that I had to rebuild the cabinets on my klf30's either.I was 2 channel stereo crazy from the age of 17-26,then sold everything.I just recently bought my 30's back from a friend that wasnt using them,I would like to trade for a mint condition set of chorus II's or cornwall I's or II's.I miss the heritage stuff.
  12. I had the same problem with my klf 30's,I used pl-400 with 26 pcs of 3/4x3/4"x3"wood,and added them to the inside corners of both cbinets. Then I pre drilled and added1"#8 screws to fronts and backs,"LOOKS FACTORY" They went from wimpy,to "BRICK SHIT HOUSES" I love them!!
  13. I've had 72 pairs of Klipsch since I was 17.I purchased a pair of Klf 30's in 2001 and still have them. They are in mint condition.....except that they were put together like CRAP!! I cant believe Klipsch allowed this to happen!! I heard rattling for years, and thought it was the floor.I just found out yesterday that the cabinets are falling apart!!! I took them apart, "back also" There was only one nail holding the back together!!! I put j.b.weld around the back, and then placed the rear panel back on.I then put a thin beed of wood glue around the inside of every corner.I then hot glued about 20 little peices of wood "corner braces." Then I used hot glue again to seal all around the inside of cabinet. THEY WILL NOT FALL APART NOW!!!! I am very disapointed! Klipsch should of re called every single klf!! I just looked at the inside of the cabinet and couldnt believe my eyes!! I was convinced that who ever put these together was pissed off about somthing.1 nail....1!!!!!!! gobbs of glue here and there, then no glue on half of cabinet. WTF!!!??!!?
