  1. I'm not sure! That's a photo the original owner sent me. I never asked him.
  2. I echo all of the previous sentiments. A great man, a great actor. Andy and Barney, together again....rest in peace.
  3. The guy had his thinking cap on when he put these stands together.
  4. I came across these Heresys and some custom made stands and bought them yesterday. The stands look like they could be little la scalas!! The guy I bought them from, an engineer/pilot, made the stands in '81 shortly after having purchased the Heresys straight from the factory. Sound actually carry's through the bases and resonates, not a lot, but it does. That and the Heresys are about 18" off the great, which makes them sound even better. Anyway, just thought I would share what I consider to be a great find on a great pair of 1 owner heresys and stands. Thanks for looking.
  5. Im an idiot. I had speaker wire touching. I had disconnected my rear side chan speaks and two of the wires were touching.
  6. Great. Thank you for the input. Do you know if the woofers on these should direct away from each other or towards?
  7. I browsed the RP3 topics on the forum and I did not see this question. I am using an Onkyo TX-SR606 reciever. Can I put a 'y' on my sub out and run a wire to each LFE on my speakers or would that be to much on the amp and is it even necessary to plug into the LFEto get the best bass? Thank you in advance!
  8. I am currently driving a pair of Heresys, a kv3 center and a pair kg 2.5's with my receiver. I had a 10" optimus pro subwoofer hooked up to it for quite a while. I could get the volume very loud and the whole system took it like a champ. I upgraded to a Definitive Technology powerfield 15 sub. Hooked it up, cranked my tunes....and BAM! Protection mode! I tweak the settings, crank the system, BAM! Protection mode. I disconnect sub, crank the system, and I can get the music so loud its almost painful, no protection mode. Hook sub back up and bam, protection mode. Any ideas or thoughts as to why? Thank you in advance.
  9. So. I got a great deal on a pair of kg4.2's because they were missing a woofer. This is where I should have done research and didn't. I bought the kd-101-k and not the k-1005-k. My question is, will it harm anything to put the passive woofer where the active is supposed to be? The woofers look identical, what makes them different? Thanks in advance.
  10. Anyone know why the speaker terminals on the kg4's have such a small hole in them for wire to go through? All the other Klipsch have a large hole for good speaker wire. I used banana plugs on my kg4's but i'm still just curious! Thanks!
  11. Sometimes when I change channels a sharp static pop comes through the speakers! Any ideas on the problem? Brand new yamaha receiver, kg4 fronts, kv3 center and kg2.5 rears.
  12. I would appreciate any input on whether or not to bi-amp my kg4's. I looked around here, didnt see any specific info on bi-amping and kg4's
  13. Man you nailed it! It was the left connection on the disc player! Why didn't I think of that?!?!?! Thank you!
  14. Thanks for the reply. It actually happens when I am playing cd's. Radio, tv, movies, all that is fine, no static. I have a new receiver in route. I'll be able to hook my gear up to a new receiver. Hopefully that will fix it, lol.
  15. Ok. So I noticed a bit of "static" or "distortion" in my kg 2.5 and kg 4s on the left side. I panic....I try the left side speakers hooked up to the right....no static or distortion. I take the set from the right and put over on the left, static and distortion. Im not talking a lot but is noticeable. I have an older jvc amp....is it possible that the receiver is screwed up and only affecting the left side? Thanks for any input.
  16. I hear ya! Ok, thanks to all the input I found out more about my situation. If I am running two pair of speakers they both have to be 8-16 ohms, If I run 1 set of speakers the speakers can be 4-16 ohms. Thanks again for all the responses, Ive learned something and thats what this is all about!!
  17. Ok. That explains why there is an A and B switch. Lol. That seems sort of odd, under what circumstance would you only operate to of 4 speakers hooked up? Also, and my thinking could very well be off, but Klipsch being efficient speakers that does not make a difference?
  18. You think it will burn the amp up from heat? I have a flat fan on top of the amp that helps keep it fairly cool.
  19. I have a JVC RX-5V reciever thats 75 wpc. Right now I have a pair of KG4's hooked up to it and imo they sound great. Heres the question....if I were to hook up a pair of KG1.5's or 2's in addition to the KG4 would it work out? The 1.5 says 50 watts continuous and the 2 is 65 watts continuous I believe. Would my reciever toast them?
