  1. I usually don't have a problem with shipping. Problem is this sub is fairly big and awkward and because the drivers are on all sides and not flush with the cabinet, I can't imagine a better chance than 50/50 of it arriving alive. Roadie.com looks interesting though, it definitely will fit in the front seat of a car. If that's what you want to do, I'll get the process started.
  2. I've got the sub in Detroit. Unfortunately I'm not willing to ship it though I will drive to meet someone halfway assuming it doesn't turn into a multi-day venture for me.
  3. I think you guys are onto something! Who wouldn't want to listen to some khorns while doing laundry?
  4. Not affiliated but thought I needed to share. And I'm just going to throw this out there, if anyone has an XPA-2 and would rather have an XPA-1, I'm an hour north of this and will drive down to purchase this and ship it to you for the XPA-2.

  6. Wow, I need to trade my black RT-12d for a cherry one, those are gorgeous!
  7. I believe the SVS PB-13 ultra is a pretty popular sub around here. I've got an RT-12d which is a discontinued Klipsch sub I have been very happy with. It could probably go a little deeper for movies, but it's fantastic for music.
  8. I had the same problem. I realized that I was not holding the power button long enough. Try turning them off completely, and then holding the power button to turn them on but keep holding it to get them into the pairing mode.
  9. Pretty incredible deal on UMC-200, UPA-700, and the MRCA-7 interconnects for 799$. If anyone's in the market for a receiver or separates, it would be difficult to get any more bang for your buck than this. I'm not sure if buying the bundle will qualify you for the 25% off processor for life discount though.
  10. Great idea Scrappy, this thread is going kill my bank account! Star Trek: Into Darkness for 7.99. Really enjoyed this movie (keep an eye out for R2D2). http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Darkness-Blu-ray-Digital/dp/B00AZMFK3K/ref=pd_luc_bxgy_01_02_t_lh?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  11. Incredible find Youthman! What an incredible deal and glad to hear your persistence paid off!
  12. Have you looked at any Sherbourn models? The brand is being phased out so they have deep price cuts on some of their models. Check out Sherbourn PT-7020. It's basically a 2,000$ processor for 400$. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but I believe Emotiva's parent company also owned Sherbourn, so you'd get Emotiva's customer service on it, which in my opinion, has been nothing but absolutely stellar.

    Oppo

I'm not sure when the 9x series came out, but I was under the impression the 10x's are still pretty young. Even if the next ones are coming out soon, Oppos seem to hold their value extremely well. Just keep it in great condition.
  14. I believe Emotiva is shutting down the Sherbourn line and hence offering very deep discounts on some very good products. It's 49$ over your limit, but check out this one Sherbourn SR-8100. I knew they had some cheap stuff, but I'm surprised at some of the prices on those products. Too bad most are sold out. 400$ for a 2,000$ processor seems ridiculous and too good to be true.
  15. I'm sorry, I broke the rule. I forgot it's never overkill, it's just more headroom.

    Lorde

Anyone else ever heard any songs by Lorde? Just heard one on the radio and I am hooked. Had to rush home and play some on the HT.
  17. I've got RS-62's to go with my rf-83's and rc-64 and am very happy with them. They probably are a little overkill for surrounds, but it's nice having the head room just in case. I also suggest RB-61's for rear surrounds if you start looking for those as well. Wouldn't trade either for anything unless I hit the lottery and get a room full of jubs and/or khorns.
  18. I enjoyed that movie as well. It was just enough over the top where you don't take it seriously and it just becomes a fun movie to watch.
  19. I'd start at 80 hz and go up/down from there depending on what you like. How's the imaging on them being setup like that?
  20. Your thoughts on having a center speaker vs an identical to the L and R is very interesting! Hopefully you find that sound you have been looking for. Are you still sticking with your ultras or are you getting the thx ultra 2 subs as well? Also, that's a rocking deal on those 63's. Should make someone very very happy.
  21. OP, I urge you to listen to other speakers (and not only Klipsch speakers). The RF-7 II's are known for being bright among Klipsch, which are known for being bright among most brands because they are horn loaded. If you are dedicated to Klipsch, I'd suggest listening for a good 20 minutes at a decent volume to ensure they don't give you ear fatigue. And as others are saying, check out some RF-83's if you can find some. If you like the Klipsch sound but think the RF-7 II's are going to be too bright, the RF-83's would probably be perfect for you.
  22. Oh wow, oops. Someone apparently resurrected a very old post and it got my hopes up. Sorry everyone. Come to think of it, I did find it odd people were getting excited about the high-res front panel. I was kind of wondering how they were going to make a june/july release if that's all they had to show.
  23. Reading though This, it's on track for a summer release (june or july). Anyone want to trade an Oppo 93 or 103 for a UMC-1 soon?
