  1. This may have been done already, but I just like the classic look. White t-shirt and black lettering.
  2. Tom, I don't have any equipment to measure with except my ears. I listened to a few tunes before I got started. Installed the 1" foam in one(1" on all sides and 2" top and bottom) and listened to the same tunes again. The cabinet with the "stuffing" definitly had a more refined sound between the two. I was once using the pioneer woofs but have sinced changed to k-31's. From the get-go I increased the rear volume by adding holes in the motorboard to utilize the small spaces taken by the first flares(photo),as done in the K-horn. I'm hoping this had alittle to do with my results
  3. Well the deed is done. If anyone of you who built clones hasn't done this yet, this project is a must do. The bass extends even deeper and the upper bass gets tighter(didn't think it was possible). Been listening for about the last 2 hours and it's like hearing them for the first time. I don't know about you guys but "I love my Jubs!" Thanks to all for your input. Big D
  4. Coytee, Thanks for the pics. They will help alot. Consistent, I'm using 2-K-31-E 12" drivers in each cab. I'm assuming the E stands for Eminence. I found a pretty good source for the open-cell foam in case anyone is interested: McMaster-Carr Ph# 404-629-6500 Atlanta Part# 5692T15 catalog page # 3424..... 54" wide x 1" thick x custom length....$9.30 per foot and shipping is reasonable. Big D
  5. Hi All, I was wondering if someone could recommend a good source for !" acoustic open cell foam. I've searched the WWW for a half-way decent price. Most have a minimum order. I found 45 sq ft(10'x54"x1") for $99.00, but the shipping is half that cost. To my door is $150.00. Another company, 8-2'x4'x1' panels for about the same. I didn't realize this product was so expensive. Any thoughts would be helpful. Big D
  6. Thanks guys, I feel a weekend project coming on. One more question, glued or stapled? Big D
  7. Can you be alittle more specific. How thick? Location? Big D
  8. Is there any type of acoustic dampening material inside the woofer chamber? Thanks Big D
  9. Hey guys. This amp came from a Hammond tone cabinet model DR-20. With modification, is it useable as an addition to my 2-channel rig? I have found a schematic for this model HR-1. No clue who produced. Any comments welcome.
  10. Thanks JC. good to be back. This is the mid horn I'm using. Goldwood GM-450PB http://www.goldwoodsound.com/lowBand/horns_2.html Big D
  11. Yes it is. Built them a few years ago. It is a 3-way system consisting of 2-k-31-e's, a Selenium D405TI mid and a JBL 2404 tweeter. I'm using an ALK ES700/7500 passive network. Big D
  12. Found this pic of PWK at the 1999 ces with the Jubilee. Don't know if it's been posted before. With all the talk about the Jubilee, I thought it might be relevant.
  13. The k-31 was also used in the KLF-30. The woofers were surface mounted from the outside. The pic above is one of those drivers. The outer ring is plastic and used to cover the raw edge of the driver(since you would see it). I ordered one for my Jub clone project and that is what i got. I noticed in one of the pics Roy posted of the factory build, a lady was gluing a second paper ring on the edge of a k-31 to be mounted to the interior of the Jub. Same driver, different rings. You most likely have dual paper rings and can use all 8 holes. Big D
