  1. I got some new speakers today (well, yesterday but I work nights so it's still today to me).

    2 RF-82 II

    1 RC-62 II

    2 RS-62 II

    2 RB-81 II

and put an order in for the SW-115.

Pics to come in the show me thread once I get everything installed. Yay!

  2. I played with the onkyo phone app today and I wasn't too impressed by it. It was just the demo mode, so maybe it didn't have all the features it normally would. I really don't think I would ever use it unless I wanted to stream music...but eh...

  3. I personally love plasmas and really can't stand watching anything on LCD/LED. I get way too distracted by the trails everything leaves. Plasma just looks more realistic to me and not so digital-y. If I was to buy a new TV right now, I'd probably go with Samsung too, just because they are a bit cheaper than the equivalent Panasonics. I'm just trying to wait until black friday to see what I can get then.

  4. I'm probably just going to go for one 115 for now. I doubt I'll ever get a second one, but who knows. I guess it depends on if I happen to find a good deal on one when I have some extra money laying around. I still have a new receiver and TV to buy =^P

  5. I've thought about it, but I heard the 112 and I was very satisfied with it. I also liked the small footprint of it. I also like the idea of having everything one brand. I know this might not be ideal for a lot of people, but it's just one of those things for me.

  6. After I posted this, I saw the powered sub section, so that's why I figured it was in the wrong place.

    I didn't realize that the 115 was that new...Another question, would you go with 2 sw-112s or 1 sw-115?

  7. I really like watching Hellboy 2. It's in 7.1 and uses every speaker to the fullest. Another good one is The Dark Knight. One time I fell asleep watching it, and when I woke up I remember saying to my wife, "this movie has really good sound." It won an Oscar for best achievement in sound editing and was nominated for best achievement in sound mixing. I also really like the LOTR series for sound.

edit: Transformers series is always good too.

  8. I am getting a set of RS-52 IIs for surrounds and the website says they handle 100 watts RMS @ 8 Ohms. Currently I have an Onkyo TX-SR706 which appears to have 100 watts RMS @ 8 Ohms as well. The problem is, I plan to upgrade my receiver to something 3D capable when I get a new TV. I was looking at the Onkyo TX-NR818, but it looks to be 135 rms @ 8 ohms. Is this going to be way too much power for the RS-52s to handle? Should I be looking more at the 717 which is 110 rms, or is that still going to be too much? The dealer said that you don't really reach the full wattage of the amp unless you turn it all the way up, is this true? I would just rather not blow the speakers if one day I decide I want to 'test' how loud my speakers can go...I would like the higher power because of the rest of the system I am getting, but I also don't want to chance blowing the surrounds...please give me some guidance!!!

here is the system I am getting:

    RF-82 II for the mains

    RC-62 II for center

    RS-52 II for surrounds

    RB-81 II for surrounds

    SW-112 for sub
