I got to agree on the scratching post too. I have one next to my Fortes and my two cats never seem to even look at them and head right to the scratching post.

I tried the amp today, and it worked fine. However, I know I am on borrowed time. My local Mac dealer told me that they don't do repairs and that I should send it to the factory. I will look for a local mom and pop shop. Thanks

Just wanted to vent. Hooked up my brand new Music Hall CD player. Was just about ready to listen to the entire Rush collection, when my Mac integrated amp's left channel died. ARGH. Has anybody had any exp with sending older McIntosh equipment back to the factory for service?Is it pricey?Should I just go to an authorized dealer instead?

When I was looking for my home theater system, I went through alot of listening sessions. I had it down to Klipsch, PSB and Paradigm in that order. My buddy who went with me had it PSB, Klipsch and Paradigm. So I guess its up to your tastes. You should go and compare them.

thanks for the advice... I guess I am that kind of person that will always wonder what I am missing if I don't get the latest technology. So I guess I will look for a HDTV model. My wife, however, still likes the HDTV widescreen tubes. Even if they are smaller.

Been considering updating my TV now for awhile. Went to Best Buy today and they had a Zenith EDTV Plasma TV for about $2,000. I was almost sold. But what am I missing with a EDTV versus HDTV? The plasma HDTV's are double the price. Is it worth it?

I just got my tickets...They will be playing Pittsburgh on Memorial Day. Can't wait for Neil's drum solo. Starting to listen to all of my Rush albums again on my Fortes and my new McIntosh integrated amp, courtesy of Flason. Sounds like Geddy, Alex and Neil is in my room already.

Oh yeah..one more thing..not only did I have this same crackling on my Klipsch's, my paradigms but also my cheaper speakers I had with my first HT. That is why I think its the source. I have been thinking about hooking up my Fortes to try to see if they give the same sounds.

I have had the same problem. I have came to the conclusion that its the source material most of the time. I have another HT set-up in my basement with smaller paradigms and a cheap receiver. I can hear the same "distortion" while playing it through this set-up as well as my RC-3. I think I hear it more because I play the klipsch's louder and also they reveal more of the sound. Just my thoughts.

Congrats on the Fortes. I got a very nice pair last year for $500. I love them. Listen to them almost everyday. Like them better than my RF-3's.

Josh, What do you think about the MA6100? I have been thinking about getting one from ebay. Friend of mine is a big MacIntosh fan. How about yours Flaso? Still selling?

I would definately buy them if I can find a nice home for my Fortes. I would like to keep them, but would have no room for them. Plus I could put the money from them to the Cornwalls.
