  1. Those RF-7's sure look brute/powerful standing next to the 83's. Anyways I have a question hopefully someone here can answer it. How long does it usually take after a speaker rf-7 is discontinued until you won't be able to find a new pair of them anywhere? joe
  2. The problem with klipsch speakers is that they are too damn good. My local dealer is speaker shop in buffalo and they never hooked klipsch up to any real powerful amps like they do with their B&w's,marin logans and paradigms. They know klipsch is already one of their best sellers and if they hooked it up to a powerful high quality amp noone would buy any of their other high end products like b&w and martin logan. So I actually think this is a marketing strategy. This is why I think klipsch is always handicapped when they are sold along with other high end speakers. Thus they still sound better than all those other high end brands even when handicapped.
  3. I have been to both dealers many times before. Speaker shop is definitely anti klipsch and very pro b&w thats why they always hook up bw's to amps and klipsch to receivers. Also you cant determine the bass response at rowe that room isint ideal at all. Speakers are so backed up into the wall they cant even breathe. Bring them in your house and you will hear and feel the bass. Trust me the Rf-7's will sound alot better in your home than they do at speaker shop and rowe video.
  4. They made the front page at http://www.acousticsounddesign.com/. This definitely is lame. Wow they made www.sounddistributors.com home page too. It says "better than klipsch". What the heck is going on here. Maybe a possibility is these speakers are actaully klipsch speakers or b stock or refurbished klipsch products that were changed a little and are being covered up with a different name to sell them exclusively over the net. Cause somethings not right acoustic sound design doesnt carry klipsch any more. Joe
  5. Yes I indeed did say an RW-12 not an RSW-12. I am sure the plus subwoofers by SVS are much better than the originals but I am sure the sonic quality is still going to be the same. Maybe an analogy would be why most of us here like our Klipsch speakers the best due to their sonic qualities. This is what I am talking about in regard to the Klipsch bass sound vs. the SVS sound. Joe
  6. For CAS and CJ well boys I had a 20-39 and recently shipped it back like 2 days ago. Today I bought a brand new Klipsch RW-12 and I already love it. For music it is better to me than the SVS, it sounds cleaner, quicker, tighter more live and just as smooth. Also dont forget this is its first night. I watched a few DVD scenes same ones I watched with the SVS with real low volume didint want to anger my mom in the next room so cant comment yet but it sounded damn good and tight at low volume, subtle bass notes sounded really good and more apparent than the SVS. Once I play my DVD's at normal volume I will reply again and let you know how low and loud it goes compared to the SVS. Like I said I love it and it is here to stay. My original intent was to try it out and if the RW-12 didint phase me compared to the SVS I was gonna return it and purchase the SVS PB1-ISD, but I like the quality in bass better with the Klipsch so I am keeping it. To answer your question though no I have not heard a PB2+ nor would I think I would like it. The sonic quality of the bass will probably be exactly the same as the 20-39 PCi but will go louder and maybe a little deeper. I do not need this extra loud bass. I was looking more for the quality of the bass and I found it. Joe
  7. Maybe the problem is the slam and power you have with your Klipsch sub and the lack there of in your SVS. I recently had the 20-39 PCi and it had absolutely no slam at all. I returned it and going for a Klipsch subwoofer.
  8. I purchased the SVS 20-39 PCi about 3 weeks ago. I originally had a definitive technology pf15tl+. Comparing these 2 subwoofers the SVS is a cleaner sounding subwoofer. It digs just a little deeper than the def tech and its about just as loud even though I have to set the SVS a little over 1/2 volume to equal the output of the def tech at 2/5 power for home theater applications. The SVS is not punchy nor can it keep up with my klipsch mains for music. The SVS bass sounds darker and more laid back compared to my mains bass. The bass coming out of my mains is more clear, live with more slam. Everything is calibrated correctly too. With hometheater not necessarily music the bass is indeed cleaner than the def tech. The SVS will be returned and I will finally purchase a Klipsch subwoofer the RSW-12 and hopefully I will get that live, clear, loud slam I am after just like my Klipsch mains.
  9. A local dealer said the new Klipsch line will be out in the first quarter next year. Joe

    Still Horny

Once you go Klipsch you will never turn back. They're that good. Compared to Klipsch all other speakers sound like shoe boxes.

    Me so Horny.

No imahawki I believe you hear the revealingness of Klipsch speakers. You probably heard the microphone that they use in the movie. I sometimes hear this with different DVD's of mine with my RF-3's and its not played that loud. Klipsch speakers do not distort. Joe
  12. So do subwoofers also have upfront quick slam just like floorstanding speakers do? And since klipsch speakers have more slam than any other speaker brand do their subwoofers also have that more upfront slam than other speaker brands? My guess is I would think so because the klipsch subwoofer has to keep up with the klipsch mains.
  13. Aww man guys I am confused. SVS subs sure can go low but is this needed. If I heard correctly DVD's rarely go that low 20 hz. So who really needs a sub that will play loud at this level? Does klipsch have the right idea for their subs to play good in the upper ranges 30-70 hz? And do they do it better than SVS? This is what I am interested in, clean punchy bass. Right now I have a 15" def tech pf15tl+ that sure could get loud dont know how low it goes but its muddy and not punchy. I never use it for music. This is why I am leaning towards klipsch for my next sub the RW-12 that is. But I really dont wanna make a mistake and not go with an SVS. Joe
  14. Ok here goes. Which sub is the cleaner sounding sub with music and movies. RW-12 or SVS ISD?
  15. Hey I have a question for you guys. I am also in the same situation as 007 for a future subwoofer. I presently own a def tech pf15tl+ and going to sell it on ebay. This sub just cant keep up with my RF-3's and the bass sounds muddy and boomy. After I sell this subwoofer I am looking to upgrade either to the Klipsch RW-12 or the SVS PB1-IDS. I am NOT concerned on how loud or low the sub can play well I am sort of, I am more interested in how tight clean and punchy it is with music. I also want it to have a presence for home theater also. Now aren't Klipsch subs the most musical and clean with music?? Please help guys thanks. Joe
  16. I went to a dealer here in rochester NY to listen to the new line of klipsch subwoofers RW series. Well in one room they had the new paradigm signature series floorstanders that sell for 5500 dollars hooked up to all Macintosh amp and preamps. They also had the RB-35's hooked up to a denon receiver. Fellow klipschers I kid you not I would take the RB-35's over the new paradigms in a heartbeat. The paradigms sounded terrible compared to klipsch. The klipsch had everything over the paradigms, more clear, open, dynamic, tight, less boxy and live sounding. Once again my respect for klipsch grows each time I hear a much more expensive speaker getting blown away by a much less expensive klipsch speaker which was also handicapped by the denon avr 3803.
  17. Hey this is for DrWho and anybody else that knows how I can better tweak my system. The sound I get from my Rf-3's is small, dull, quiet and lifeless. I know this for a fact because I brought my RC-3 center channel over my friends house to play some movies thru and it sounds awesome waaay better than my whole system in my room. My friend definitely has a better room than mine. My room is really small, its rectangular in shape and approximately 13 feet long by 8 feet wide and the ceiling is around 7 feet high. My speakers are probably suffocating in my room. Dunno what I should do i put blankets on the left wall, behind the speakers and the wall directly behind listening position. This makes it sound better but hardly noticable. Don't know what else to do in my room. Anybody got any pointers let me know thanks. Joe

    A Bose story

Yes there is a bose store in a mall right by me. Anyways the whole store is acoustically engineered, and the small theater room you heard those small cubes in is indeed an acoustically engineered room. Even the paint on the walls in the store is a special type of sound proof paint. You can take a 50 dollar speaker that could compete with bose and they will sound fine in the engineered bose store. Bose speakers are indeed terrible and bose marketing is indeed ingenious. Joe
  19. I agree with my fellow klipschers here. I have not heard the 804 but have heard their flagship the 800. This speaker was being powered by over 50 grand of electronics. The sound is indeed lame, laid back, lacks emotion and lacks any kind of power. The only area where it sort of comes close to the klipsch is in the dynamics but then again if you put that klipsch in that room hooked up to those exact same electronics the klipsch would embarrass the b&w. 2,200 vs. 20,000 go figure.
  20. After hearing the Ear compare compare Polk to Dynaudio I now know that Dynaudio has nothing over Klipsch, thats if the Polk and Dynaudio have the same sound character. I have heard Polk speakers before (500-2100 price range) and they have nothing over Klipsch they sound pale in comparison.
  21. Guys I went to audioreview to try and see a picture of this monster krell sub and I came across some reviews you guys gotta read. Here is the link http://www.audioreview.com/Subwoofers/Krell,Master,Reference,Subwoofer/PRD_125236_2741crx.aspx Lmao Joe
  22. I disagree with the ears post on the b&w 800 compared to klipsch. I have heard this speaker being powered by over 50 grand of electronics and it failed to impress me. The sound was about as dynamic and possibly not as dynamic as my RF-3's are in my room with my 800 dollar yamaha, but the 800 was way drier, laid back and lacked any life or emotion. I do not like this speaker one bit and its b&w's 20 grand flagship speaker. Joe
  23. Hi, I have original RF-3's and my speakers put out huge amounts of bass. My definitive 15" pf15tl+ can't keep up with the klipsch, the sub also sounds muddy even on low compared to the bass of my RF-3's. This is why I keep sub off for 2 channel music but not home theater. Anyways since your speakers are so revealing it could be the material you are listening to for instance your cd's. Alot of CD's do not have that much bass recorded in them. I thought the same way with my speakers until I started buying better recorded material. But what hit me the most was when a friend of mine let me borrow his bass cd and WOW these speakers SLAM with deep fast tight bass. I suggest you go out and buy or borrow a bass only cd and try them out on your RF-3 II's it would not hurt. If they still fail to impress then u may very well have a room or placement issue. Just my .02 Joe
