New to HT setup, own KF-28 towers, need a 5.1 receiver
Gnote replied to keysersoze's topic in Home Theater
Scrappy I couldn't imagine a better way to go from an advanced member to a forum veteran .Lol Keysersoze I think Scrappy is right on. I can't imagine an in ceiling center working well. The rears would be "OK" Leesburg Monkey Just having fun nothing personal. It was good of you to give a fellow forum member some advice BUT FYI mentioning B*S* Will get you some razzing around here -

There are worse ways to spend a day ! Don't be selfish let the neighbor hear those
-
They are a bear to move! The kids in the music department are going to be spoiled BUT you may have unintentionally cursed them to spend the rest of their life chasing that sound Probably get a huge influx of new forum members when they graduate

I really like Chad Smith more for Chickenfoot thou I,ve heard it said he doesn't play the drums he beats them into submission I thought this was entertaining https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uBOtQOO70Y&feature=kp

You or any forum member are welcome to stop by any time . I don't have the knowledge that many of these guys have. Especially the guys that post in the Pro Section but my place is open to any member wanting to hear MCM's or THX Ultra 2's. You're pretty tenacious about getting gear so I'm guessing you will get a set
-
Those look massive ! and that is coming from a guy with MCM's I have been following that and I know your initial impressions are that you are very pleased. I'm happy you found those and I'm looking forward to your thoughts !

I will say that I was very surprised how nice these sound at low to moderate listening levels. I was pretty sure going in that they could piss off a few neighbors and do it well. They really do everything well . Years ago I ended up with LaScala's and Belle's and thought this is it ! How could you need anything more ? Well You Don't ! BUT these are just in a different league ,they truly outperform everything else I've heard by a long shot ( With the exception of Claude's 402's ) Actually there is one thing these don't do well , and that is bad source material !. There are some recordings I've had that were fine before but when played through these its almost painful ! Mark Thanks for your input ! I know you are very knowledgeable and I hold your opinions in high regard ! Oh and I know my speakers aren't too big , My room is too small
-
I told you my room was ridiculously small for what I have in there. Talk about overkill but it still sounds great. Remodeled the whole place and waiting to decided if I want to paint it black to match the MCM's but the wood is nice and I hate to ruin it . I figure I would wait and let you decide if you want to paint, stain, or leave it raw when I trade it back on those Danley's LOL
-
Thanks but actually yours looks fearsome especially with those 684 subs in the middle! I haven't heard the KPT-684's yet but I really want to.

Amy Although I have never met you or dealt with you directly. I have watched you deal with many situations , some entertaining and some flat out difficult, and you have always handled them with grace and class . You will surely be missed ! I appreciate all you have done for this forum and its members. I wish nothing but happiness in your future endeavors. Gary

A long time ago I promised to post pictures of my MCM's after spending some considerable time away from home. I finally got to get these set up and post some pics
-
They are very very cool !

I can tell you that the impact and the hammerdrill are beasts ! This is a good deal but if you don't need the radio, you can find the same kit minus the radio for $200 if you are patient and it comes with the bigger batteries that have the fuel gauge built in which is handy and the batteries out perform these batteries in both runtime and power!
-
You won't be sorry with the MCM's ! I got very lucky and came across 3 full 4-way stacks along with 2 extra MWM's although one is minus the drivers ! Thanks for the heads up about these and the shipping. I sent you a PM
-
Mark are you going to bid on them ? I f you are I won't, but if you don't I might ?
-
I can attest to that. I experienced Claudes Danley's and they rattle the whole house and parts of your body you forgot you had ! I think those things could rupture some Implants
-
Glad to see you back ! "Keeper of the Sound" is ominous and well deserved !
-
You can't go wrong with either ! I prefer Belles but just by a hair over Lascala's and actually would prefer LSI Splits over both. Lascala's will be the easiest to find and give you the best bang for your buck. $1500 for Belles is a good price !
-
I tried but was third in line I'm guessing the first person took them. I didn't need them but always wanted to try a pair and just couldn't help myself at that price.
-
I was just about ready to contact him when I realized it wasn't Valparaiso Indiana a 3hr drive each way for me. I would have done it in a heartbeat for the price he has listed for the pair !
