  2. How much money do you have to spend to accomplish this in your home? I know the answer starts with, "more than you have timdog" http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/is-there-such-a-thing-as-too-much-bass/85193172/
  3. I've read that putting all three speakers behind the screen makes movies more immersive and tricks your brain, and I believe that's probably true. However, my wife and I both like the looks of the sevens outfront similar to wake junkie and metro and others I have seen pics of. My theater has a long way to go to look like either one of those though.
  4. Eventually, unfortunately for now my 73 inch Mitsubishi DLP will be making our necks ache. I am going to build a U-shaped platform around the center. I'll stain it so it looks a little less rigged then it will be. Around income tax check time I will get an acoustically transparent screen but the left and right channel will always be out front .
  5. I have to give a BIG shout out to #Opusk2k9, he gave me a great deal on a third RF-7ii. I'm hearing/hoping will make a big difference in my front soundstage, although it did sound pretty great with the RC-64ii. The second reason to post is, HOLY SMOKES! Ive never seen so much Klipsch gear in one place. Opusk2k9 has a virtual museum of Klipsch audio. I was in shock and awe and to put it in words sensory overload. The bad thing is I had a relatively short time to be there we had spent the day in Chicago and picking up the speaker was last on the way home and the kids and wife were all very tired. He was very gracious and met me at the door with a cold brewski. I wanted to touch and listen to everything but unable to because of time constraints. Not to mention he would have had to take off work for a week in order to do so. I could not even concentrate on the task at hand of trying to load a RF-7ii into a Honda Odyssey with six people in it, because I was preoccupied with everything that was downstairs that I was missing out on. OhWell, there's always next time! Seems like a very hospitable humble gentleman with a truly remarkable collection. Thanks again Opus, I WILL be back for those 63's at least if someone doesn't snag them sooner.
  6. For some reason when I looked at this thread this evening it didn't show my last message from this afternoon so I posted again please excuse my ignorance.
  7. no need to merge on my account, totally up to you Michael. i'm afraid it's too rich for my blood as well, but I WILL be watching for people to dump their PB 13's for 16s and hoping to pick a couple up their scraps . some pretty awesome scraps though :-)
  8. Merge if you like but either way is fine with me. I agree, too rich for my blood. Although I may pick up the scraps from people who switch out their PB 13's for a friend. Those are some pretty good scraps though!
  9. Those beauties you have built Scrappy were some of the ones that first popped into my brain.
  10. Although I love my 2-PB 12/2 + and I personally like the look of the new subs I can't afford to even look at them too hard. With all the awesome subs I see people building on this forum and others I think they would be a hard sell for people who have to save quite a while to get them. I'll be interested to read the reviews.
  11. http://www.avsforum.com/svs-unleashes-16-ultra-series-subwoofers-featuring-8-voice-coil-drivers/ No talk about the new SVS subs? Or am I late to the party somewhere else and I did not see it?
  12. Is it cunning stunts? That's the only one I currently have for Metallica .

  18. Awesome job Scrappy!! I would like to say you inspired me to build my own subs but I know they would not come out nearly as well, especially the veneer on this center. You really knocked it out of the park
  19. I don't know if I am just not seeing the forest through the trees but on some of the Blu-rays I am receiving from Netflix Blu Ray to home program there are no surround options on the menu. Not sure if this is the norm or they're sending some cheaper copy. It does not happen on every movie but as been happening a lot more lately . It won't even let me go to a main menu looking screen it's just a generic looking menu option screen. I have a feeling when I get an answer it's going to be a DUHH! moment . Thanks for any replies!
  20. You see, that's why I love this forum people always willing to go the extra mile do anything they can to help out someone else willingly ;-) That one is obviously tongue-in-cheek but truer words could not be spoken about this forum. I've experienced it myself more than once in the short time I've been on here. Matter-of-fact Mr. metro offered me one heckuva deal not too long ago making no money for himself but I just couldn't make it happen . Thanks everyone! And Jim in St. Louis we need to just get that beer anyway. I end my day in Weldon Springs at least twice a week.
  21. I think I'll try to see what I can rustle up at my works warehouse if I can find something for all four corners that will keep every side from being too close to a wall of the box and then just use a sturdy box that will fit just around those objects it should be pretty secure. When I was younger I worked for a hospital equipment rental company and we would ship equip. by air to other parts of the country daily. I got pretty good at securely shipping ventilators . I think(know) the RF-7's will be the challenge. I may have to check with the company mattSER suggested for those. Thanks all!
