  1. Hi guys, been a long time but I suppose when its been a good time you tend to fall off the radar. I was planning to do a klipsch setup for the bedroom but decided to stick with my kl650 setup. I went with small gallo for video games. I dont post a whole lot but do prefer to be a more passive member here as I never have anything to add. Anyways back to the speaker, I bought this for $950 and never even used it or unboxed it and its just sitting here. I will sell for $785 plus shipping via my fedex account and if you must use paypal then add 3%
  2. Nothing wrong with the Epson 5010 I had, magazine shmagazine I say. The native contrast on the Epson 5010 is low and everyone pays more for the jvc for a good reason
  3. I just got my jvc x30 home today and man is this thing a monster. I put it next to my optoma and it makes it look like a little toy. Any idea of how to load up pics here?
  4. Right now I am not using any klipsch and I am sniffing out prices on the used market and doing alot of reading up. Currently I am running Martin Logan Vista mains with the Martin Logan stage center with Martin Logan Source special edition for surround. I had 2 Martin logan Matinee's up back but did not have the room and sold one of them and will do with the other. The electronics in use right now is an Anthem D2 with an Anthem mca5 series 2 @ 200 wpc all hooked up with MIT exp ic's and spkr cables. I love it but feel like its time for change and thought ' what better than klipsch is there for HT duty'. My plan is keep the Vista for 2 ch and sell the rest and buy either the THX ultra 2 or the rf7'2 with rc64 2 and some of the lovely rs sides and klipsch bookshelf for rears. I really dont care about music so I wonder if I would enjoy a seamless kl650 configuration up front and it would take up less space allowing me to keep the Vistas where they are and not move them around so much. If however the rf7 rc 64 deal sounds equal then I would go with that so my preference has to be .... what sounds the best with more clarity at lower volumes. Whats the highest quality sound the RF series or the significantly more expensive thx ultra system
  5. I really hope thats not the case, the epson was not very good on action movies and I always wondered if I was seeing the directors intended affect. I did try out the frame interpolation and some times it worked great like on battle ship it was great but other independent type of movies it was just awful and horrible on nearly every dvd no matter what. I was under the impression that next to dlp lycos was the smoothest tech for motion so I will have to look into that
  6. I have the sony bdp 790 and use the darbee with that combo. I love the darbee and it is great but it appears to have a less roughly effect on my optoma 750 than it did on my epson 5010. I think the pixel structure on the 5010's lcd grid depraves the darbee. I am very excited to try out the darbee on a 2D movie on the jvc as it has a larger pixel fill
  7. What glasses are you using for the 45? I cannot wait to finally have the jvc X30 in my setup tomorrow. One thing I hated about the Epson 5010 was the black level, on a cinemascope 235 movie the bars were grey instead of black and very very distracting. I would ask everyone to avoid the epson 5010 as its all hype and people who give it a great review are coming from a low end pj or have never owned one before
  8. I will be picking up a jvc rs45 tomorrow and have viewed 3D on it extensively. I think the jvc for 3D may be fine if you have saw nothing else but there are great projectors out there for 3D. I just sold my epson 5010 a few weeks ago and it was fantastic as the brightness really makes the depth look way cooler. The brightness on the 5010 is awesome but the motion of LCD and sxrd and lycos is horrible. This being said I picked up an Optoma gt750 for $620 shipped on amazon, even though this projector puts out only 720p the sharpness and smooth motion makes for a better 3D experiance. Its funny as I am about to take ownership of a 45 and having owned the epson 5010 that a cheap dlp $650 projector can give me the best 3D experience. Another great feature is that the optoma has no gaming lag unlike the epson that gets your butt owned in a first person shooter online. I love the jvc 45 and can't wait until tomorrow as it has the best ever 2D crap 3D but I have a crap 2D and great 3D for peanuts. I also have the optoma monster vision arriving as I can use a vesa port on the optoma and jvc and enjoy a radio frequency 3D signal. When I had the epson I could not even turn the volume up and down on the HT system because the IR transmitter block out all other ir signals in the room " Quick edit here : There are some great 3D titles and horrible ones. The worst 3D title is John Carter as it was fuzzy and crap and the best for me is the Jim Carry "Under the sea" as there is a fish scene that has to be the ultimate "here take a look through these glasses" party appealing 3D demo to wow and amaze guests. Hugo is another solid title although a boring movie, Avatar has no pop outs but has just a great non crosstalk appeal like Hugo. Ghost rider is pretty good but its a converted 3D flick Dr Seuss is fantastic where as Snow white and the huntsman was just lame.
  9. Whats best between these two speakers in regards to clarity of dialogue in a movie at lower volume levels ?
  10. You will be waiting for another 3 years for the tech to become priced the norm. I have my darbee arriving any moment now and cannot wait. Clean its interesting how you said it did not do much for the Battleship movie because I thought that movie was as sharp as they come. My screen is 166" with an epson 5010 so I really loved what it did to my image when my friend loaned me his. I really want to get my teeth into what it can do for 3D and I have the new animated Starship Troopers movie so it will me awesome to see how it handles it
  11. The guy from canada selling the yaqin has a great rep. I bought my yaqin mc10l from tubestien on ebay and never had a problem. My cheap yaqin sounds better for 2 ch than my high end anthem pre. My Martin Logans just came alive with so much mid bass and low end almost to the point where it sounded like I had new speakers. Later I bought some $200 power tubes from genalex and sold them because the stock tubes sounded better. I replaced the 4 preamp tubes and I have a beautiful sweet sound where vocals have more body and lushness
  12. When I sold my avr a while back I was left with nothing so I used my yaqin mc10 l for a movie on 2 ch and it blew me away. I watched an action movie and shotguns and car smashed sounded really meaty. You could buy 5 of them at $500 a pop lol
  13. Ok so the wife wont let me spend the coin on the rf7 2 towers unless I sell my Martin Logan Vista,Stage center and Sourse se surrounds. Now that I cant get the rc64 2 center channel is there another configuration you guys could recommend?
  14. I wont have room for anything other than a 64 11 below the pj screen. If I pony up to the rf 7 11 towers then what tweeters on the surrounds match the tweeters on the 64 and rf 7 11's and what kind of price would I be looking at?
  15. I did not know that info about the tweeter on the 64 and that changes things as the rf 7 2 is quite spendy. Whats the diff between the rf7 and rf 7 2
  16. I may go for a marantz as their gear seams nice and warm but with a pioneer receiver you get plenty of power. I dont think I will need the 7's up front so maybe the rf 82's would go good with the 64 11 center. All I need now is the rears so I think bookshelfs for the sides and some dipoles up back, any idea's on what models would work? Thanks guys for your help
  17. Ok so I will be going for the 64 11 center so what would be the suggestions on the rest of the setup? 2 dipoles in the rear or dipoles on the sides only? What about bookshelfs on the back wall ? What towers should I go for? Lastly, I will buy a receiver for these so ant takes on what sounds good with klipsch
  18. I had a demo of one a few weeks ago and its great the way you can use it for video games. I got to borrow one to give my impressions on how it performs with 3d blurays on the big screen. Ever since I have used it my picture now looks fuzzy, I have to say that it looks good and I am picky with anything that messes with the film like quality in an image.... I cant even stand frame interpolation so that should give you an idea of where I am coming from
  19. I am way out in the midwest but I would feel awkward going into some one's home and sitting down to hear there center channel lol. The reason I asked if there was anything better than the 64 11 was because I saw another l/c/r klipsch speaker that was priced just as high. The model was the klipsch kl 650's for $1500 and you can have 3 of them and avoid the towers as I plan to have dedicated 2 ch speakers of a diff brand. Is there a book shelf to go with the 64 11 or would you need 3 up front to avoid the towers scenario?
  20. Hi everyone This will be my first post so forgive my lack of knowledge I am looking into changing or adding speakers, I really want exciting speaker for HT only and all my wants leads to me to this brand. I know the 64 is a beast of a center but is there anything that can top it? I ask about the center first because I like to build the rest of the speakers around it much like I have with other systems I have had previously
