What I Got Today!

Sorry to hear that. At least you have a couple of months to find another job.
2. A local "high end" stereo shop here has a set of 6' speaker cables for $7K. I wonder if they are ever included free with a set of speakers.
3. Make sure all of the speakers in the room are red to red and black to black. Only one of the wires will have writing on it. I use that as the positive of the cable. That's the easiest way to remember.
4. That is the 12" driven speaker on the front. You are looking for the 15" passive that goes on the back. Yours is pretty torn up. You would have to do a pretty good patch job to get it airtight. If I were you, I would replace it.
5. It's bridgeable to mono. So I would give it a thumbs up as a center mono block!
6. That really sucks! People like that deserve what's coming to them. Karma rules.
7. Won't you have to open up the throat with the K-43s?
8. I use an under-the-bed storage box for my cables.
9. The passive radiator is a KD-15 15" fiber composite passive. Best bet if it can't be repaired is to keep an eye on places like ebay.
10. If I were you, I'd replace the woofer on the Forte II. That will save you $$$. Like it was said before, neither speaker has a built in sub. The back speaker on the Forte II is a passive radiator.
11. Sorry to hear about your experience. I love my M40s. Yes, they are tight. But, I like a tight fit for my headphones.
12. Your center channel of choice should be the RC-64II. Either that or another RF-7II. Unless you are planning on doing a complete Heritage front stage. Then you move to the Belle or La Scala.
13. All depends what you are after soundwise. The KG's we are talking about are on the small side and would work in a smallish room. You won't have to get a big sub with these...a small sub would work fine. But, like most people, we start off small and upgrade to larger speakers. eBay or the Garage Sale part of this Forum or Craigslist or secondary markets is the perfect place to pick these up for a good price. You just have to set your mind to what you want and have to wait for the speakers to show up.
14. KG 2.2v for the center and KG 1.5 for the surrounds.
15. You can use them for surrounds. You can pretty much use any speaker as a surround. Sounding good is up to the individual. That's why there are so many types of speakers and people use different types.
16. I have never performed an A/B comparison with the CW and Chorus. I just thought the Chorus, specially the Chorus II, were more appealing to the eye. I love my Chorus IIs and the way they perform. Kind of overkill for surround speakers. But, I bought them new in '96 and will not let them go. Of course, in my current setup, they are my fronts.
17. I guess that makes buying CDs the thing to do, again.

What I Got Today!

Today (well, yesterday) I got my system and Chorus IIs out of storage after being in there for over 4 years. Nice to listen to it again. Still in storage are La Scalas, Academy and KT-SW. Getting them soon!
19. Thnx jhoak for your help
Now let's see if I can really do it.
20. While we are on the subject of posting pics, could you help a newbie out?
