  1. New case arrived... I decided to save about $100 and not get the handles. I think I like the one piece faceplate better than the 2 piece one too. The new amp will also have 3 power buttons, and the grooves to match the 1st amp. The 2nd amp will be for 4 Atmos channels, and 4 surrounds....with the surrounds being bi-amped using a pair of MiniDSP 2x4HD crossovers in the amp too. The new amp will have 6 asx125 modules, but all will be in stereo mode. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  2. I know you said no k402, but....mine takes up no more floor space than your Lascalas, and could replace them...if you like to build your own. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  3. I bought my 1st Gyrodec for $500 from aguy that worked as atech in a Highend stereo snop...good luck finding one for under $1know. I picked up a Pro Ject RPM Carbon with a Sumiko cartridge for $500 new a couple ofyears ago....great setup IMO for a beginning setup. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  4. A friend of mine is using a Minidsp 2x4 on his La Scalas, and he likes them much better now. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  5. Dave, I wish you would have posted this a couple months back... I was going to toss mine last year, and a coupke of months ago one of out pr friends said he would find a use for it. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  6. I have some Roxul r60 rockboard too...I guess 8 could measure and then put it in the cabinet, but I wonter about it chunking and landing inthe woofer baskets. Are you going to cover it with AT fabric or something too? Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  7. I have not stuffed my cabinets yet. On the first one I used a dynamat type marerial and a soundproof material. On the 2nd one I have only placed a few squares of the soundproof material, and in the one that is in the shop the cabinet is being made thicker, and will be a rectangle the same size as the horn when viewed from the front. This will be the center channel, and will be on top of my 90" wide AV rack. The center will be laying like most people have their k402s...not like my left and right which are vertical. I am going to be trying some sheep wool on the center channel, and also I am going to try some bracing inside all of the cabinets. Now on the first one the bass is about 5db more than on the one with only a few pieces of soundproof material inside. We will see how the center is since it will be 9" shorter, but also a full rectangle... the left and right have angled sides going from 24" to 12". How high are your stands? I am thinking of making some stands to bring the left and right channels up to the the height of the center channel, or angling them (not sure if I can angle enough without becoming unstable). I will be trying some diy stands that will match the height of the center channel on the AV rack. I am doing this because my left and right channels are too low with our current seating, and most likely our new seating will be at least the height we are currently using. I am also curious how raising the speakers will effect the bass...right now, the bottom of the horn is 9" off the floor, and the speakers are within 2' of the rear wall, and side walls (corners). Even though mine are not tuned completely yet due to us stopping when we had problems with consistent measurements, and my changing of the gain measurements on the amps (to try and get the levels were we wanted them). Now I have Icepower amp modules with no gain controls and we are ready to proceed when Chris is ready. I think he is waiting until we get the center completed so we can do them all at once...which is fine with me. I have to say that last night I listened to some master recordings on Tidal and I was very impressed as to how good they sound, and cannot even imagine how much more revealing they will be once we have them fully tuned. 8. Here is the right channel with grill. With camera flash you can see the magnets, but in the daylight you cannot. The left channel has the magnets painted as will the center when it is completed. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  9. Has anyone used a Minidsp 2x4HD crossover on these? Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  10. https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-P-312W-Palladium-312-W-110V-MRT-Subwoofer-Merlot/dp/B00MA5204M/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8 Only 2 left. I wish I could afford this now. Sure would be nice to build a DIY pair if I could find the plans. Reminds me of the Triax sub I used to have. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  11. This is a video from Audioholics Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  12. Here is one speaker with the grill that I made. You can see the magnets with the flash...the 2nd one I made I painted the magnets black...even though the magnets are not visible like they are in the picture. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  13. I am interested in seeing someone compare the 2 versions.
  14. https://youtu.be/6RiuwqzjqlQ Has anyone ever tried this? Comments? Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  15. The one that blew is an older model. Sent from my SM-G985F using Tapatalk
  16. I found out what blew on the amp...pics of old amp you can see what blew, and pic of new amp shows how it should look. It looks like 4 pieces are blown. Now I need to find out what the parts are, and where to get them...so I will have a spare amp. Amp is curently working fine with the new amp. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  17. I could see theaters staying in business if they can make enough going this route. Nice and safe for your family and friends to have a movie night at the local theater. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  18. When I had Dirac I saved room tunes for mlp, 2nd row map, 1st row and another for both first and 2nd rows. Sent from my SM-G985F using Tapatalk
  19. I have now saved it as a preset and to my HDD. Sent from my SM-G985F using Tapatalk
  20. I have to assume the ground from the amp fed back down the XLR, and caused the problem on input 1... I have not tried input 1 since I got it working properly again. I think the mess up on the other channels was purely my fault when I was trying to copy the settings, and not knowing how to link via the software. Doing the 2nd factory reset and then manually inputting everything seemed to be the correct way for me. I was able to input almost everything as it was. I was not able to change the limiter to 2x for some reason...so it is at 6x now. The other thing is I could not change the crossover filter name so it still says none, but the settings are the same now as they were before. Interesting thing is the cabinets have a brighter top end than the cabinetless version does now...it is not overly bright, but def brighter than the cabinetless version.
  21. I setup all the settings the way they were messed up and it sounds good again. Now I have to see when Chris responds so we can decide if we should tune now or wait until the 3rd cabinet is done...which will not have the same area inside as it will not have curved sides. I highly recommend building these MEHs.
  22. I did the factory reset, and set the mixer up again, and it appears all 3 channels are working as they should. Now I just need to re input all the settings again.
  23. This was the reponse... The other difference I saw was that Output 4 has - Polarity. Outputs 6 & 8 are + Polarity. If the problem still persists, please save the file to your computer (in case you wanted to pull up the file again later) and factory reset the processor. When all parameters are clear, re-route the channels (using the software Mixer) and check the input and output meters. See if there is audio passing through to your output without any processing. I have changed the polarity via the Xconsole, and will try a factory reset as instructed, and then set the mixer up again.
  24. No, but that makes perfect sense. I will see what they send back, and if it doesn't solve it I will ask them if it could be corrupt firmware. Firmware that is corrupt could even be the problem on the 1st input.
  25. Xilica Tech support got back to me with a revised file. I tried it and the left channel appears to work fine, but the center has no bass, and the right has no highs. I even swapped the input XLRs on the channels at low volume to verify it was not a cable (it wasn't and it appears to still be messed up...just not as bad as it was when I sent the file. Keeping my fingers crossed they will find the problem.
