  1. I am running each pair of amps to its own powercon connector. I originally did this so I could turn them on and off via a Insteon power outlet via IP control. I wish that I knew enough about wiring to make the wires cleaner looking. I was reading Icepowers design info and they said even speaker wires should be clear of input wires...which makes it much harder with my layout to make it clean looking. 2. New amp is almost together now...keeping fingers crossed that my first assembly try works. Sent from my SM-G985F using Tapatalk
  3. I just ordered some 1" neomagnets that have a recess for a screw head... I am thinking of gluing them inside a recess on 1/2" pine grill frame, and then use a button head or allen head for the horn. This way the head can fit in the magnet recess and the frame be flush with the horn. Sent from my SM-G985F using Tapatalk
  4. I picked up some black material for the grills to see if my wife would wife would like it better, and even just held in place with clamps she said it looks much better...more like it is a piece of furniture in our living room now. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  5. Used they are around $500 each...where are you? If you are in Texas I might be interested in it. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks very much for the info. On the k402...did you put a magnet for each screw holding the k402? Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  7. One thing I have noticed with my K402 MEHs...we are getting dust in the ports. I am def going to make some black grills (was going to have some wood grain printed grills made, but do not have the time to get the pic of a 4x8 sheet of veneer taken to send to the printer. I am currently trying to figure out the best way to make the frame, and how to attach it to the grills and be easy to remove. I am assuming most people who have done this install magnets in the frame, and then use the screws for the horn front to attach to magnetically...is this correct? Do you make a picture frame out of wood to attach...if so how thick and wide do you make the frame, or would it be best to use a sheet of plywood and cut the center out? I saw a video on parts express where they used plastic rectangular tubing and 90 degree ends that looked real nice and easy to make once you get the pieces. Suggestions, examples, pics?

  9. I have fou d a nice wide sweet spot by aiming the speakers about 1' behind my head. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  10. You should be able to find some freeware online to resize your pics to a smaller size so that you can upload. There are also online websites that you can upload your images too, and then it resizes to uour desire. Then you just download the new file and upload here. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  11. Lol...no one told me that in the 80s. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  12. A friend of mine has a HT in a 10x12 shed that is fully treated....He runs LaScalas for the front channels, and I have to say it sounded great! Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  13. Do you get any slapping with the woofers being closer to the mounting pad? I was thinking of actually adding a little space qith my Kappa 15Cs. How much clearance would the Mortite give me? Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  14. Pm sent... I have Ammonia Ave, and Eye in the sky in 5.1. One of my Elvis Costello albums shocked me at the dynamics one night. I was just using my phone to measure SPL. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  15. I sure wish I could hear the Alan Parsons albums demastered...one of my favorite groups. Have you listened to the 5.1 versions too? Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  16. @rickmcinnis Did you make your ports 10 to 1 compression...if so I do not see how you could change the size now without patching. On mine I used a 45 degree router bit to chamfer the woofer side of the woofer mounting plate. We chamfered down to about 1/8". Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  17. I have used the recommended center channel speaker in the past when I had Paradigm speakers and it is not as good IMO. In my last HT with JBL 2360As I used identical speakers for the front channels, and in my current K402MEH setup I also use identical speakers for the front 3 channels. If you want the best sound you need to use the same for each of the front 3 just like a Theater does. The center channel needs to be as good as your left and right as during movies it is the most important speaker in the front. 18. Why not go active? A friend of mine is using my old La Scala bass bins with EV horns and drivers as 2ways in his home theater and they sound great. He is doing it the budget way with MINIDSP 2x4s, but you could go with a 3x6 crossover if you want to stick with a 3 way. You could also get the B&C 2 way compression driver, and then go with a 2x4 active crossover. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  19. They have not gone bankrupt as far as I know...I just saw a recent Youtube Video with 2 of them and they were talking about the new Jubilee anniversary edition. In addition I get emails all the time from them on sales of their products. Have you looked at the Klipsch news area they have contact info. It is possible that they do not have anyone working the phones because they are working from home... as they are not essential to have in the office during a pandemic. If you are not happy with your speaker...return it before your return time expires. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  20. Happy Birthday, Dave! Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  21. When I was in the Air Force I really got into audio equipment too, and before I got out I also got a pair of La Scalas. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  22. The carpenter missunderstood me, and that is why I ended up with a one piece cabinet. I think the way he did it was easier for applying the veneer though. I have not used any measuring equipment yet. I hope to have my new amp done soon so I can get Chris to tune ot for me. I think the bass I have with a cabinet is more than I have with the left and right without a cabinet. I will most likely have him do it the same way for the others, but I will have the rear panel access a little wider so I can get the woofers inside easier. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  23. I just searched using Tempest Search which searches Craigslist all over the USA, and found a pair listed in Bend Oregon for $1500. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  24. Have you tried Tempest Search...it searches Craigslist all over the USA. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  25. I finally received the Sennheiser 6xx headphones that Fedex lost for 3 weeks. I really like them, but they are def a bit darker sounding than the 402MEH. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
