  1. OOH... I like the wooden horns!
  2. I'm not condoning killing the Hawk... I am just saying if you do I wouldn't tell anyone you did.
  3. I wouldn't say a word if it comes back, and you kill it.
  4. Minermark has them up for sale. I can't use any more of them but I was suggesting it as an inexpensive build and you end up with 2 ways.
  5. Been there... Still recovering from it!
  6. Don't forget my estimates are for 4 speakers not 2. $565 a pair plus your labor and gas for getting wood.
  7. Not by much if you have the time... 1. Buy 4 EV horns from Mark for $400 2. Buy 2 MiniDSPs for $250 complete or for less in kit form or you could use Audyssey for free from your AVR until you can buy something better 3. Buy 4 woofers for around $400 4. Build 4 1/4 pie bass bins for $400-$500 in plywood... I think 6 sheets are required and someone said they found some for $55 a sheet which would be $330 Total could be around $1130 if you have Audyssey and can get a good deal on the plywood.
  8. Something is really screwy with Ebay, it not like it was the last time I was selling stuff about a year ago, I listed this as a 500 reserve and it was listed that way until the first person bid, including a buyit now, all of it disappeared, iv got a beef with with Ebay, and ill be dealing with that in the next day or so. Wait... you haven't sold on there in a year but you put up something worth $500 without checking their TOS?! I'd posit they'll tell you "there's no beef." Sometime back when I was selling, I had buyers with less than 10 pos feedback Blocked, I also had "Newbies" Blocked, it has changed (in Ebays Favor) over the last year or so. not in a good way for sellers. I just looked at the fee for this $535 sale and it's 52 Bucks! np wonder Craigs List is doing so well these days! Their increase in fees is why I haven't listed anything on eBay anymore.
  9. I paid $500 for my pair... Of course they will never be a La Scala again, as the only thing left is the bass bin and woofers.
  10. Great idea but thread is Posted 31 January 2006 - 03:56 PM OOPs.. I didn't catch that Sancho had bumped it from the past.
  11. Have one for me too, Mark.
  12. Did it go to a bidder you are happy with?
  13. You used to be able to put a requirement of past feedback or purchase requirements. I also had a problem with a guy from Germany that emailed me about purchasing and I said no shipping out of the USA... He then made a buy now and purchased them (I had no idea it was the same guy until he sent me his shipping info. I refused to ship and he disputed it with eBay. I ended up winning but it took a bit to get it all settled out. Won't eBay let you cancel the guys bid that is from outside of the USA?
  14. What about building the 1/4 pies that Claude has and then buying the EV horns Mark has? Mark has the EV horns for $400 for 4 of them with the drivers and Claude said it is around $400 a pair to build the 1/4 pie bass modules. Then get some miniDSPs for crossovers.
  15. There is a guy locally that has had a pair of the Speakerlab closes up for sale for months for I believe $500, and his appear to be in real good shape.
  16. You should easily get that out of them... I spent $500 for my horns plus $200 for a pair of EV drivers! I wouldn't lower the price on eBay... I would just be patient.
  17. Recently we went to see Robocop... We waited all the way through the credits and then asked the cleanup crew if we could see what speakers were being used... They said sure. We took a peak and saw that they were using JBL 2360A horns.
  18. Yeah, I know what ya mean... I remember once selling some parts and the guy wanted to meet up at like 10pm at night. I said sure... Meet me at In & Out. I met him and parked right under the lights in front of In & Out. What he didn't know was I was carrying my Glock under my jacket (I was a LEO at the time). I do know you have to be very careful... A coworkers son got mugged for several grand when he met up to buy a car. If you don't sell em... My trade is still there for ya. You can ship my trade Priority flat rate for cheap too.
  19. I listen to my setup via a i3NUC with the built in audio via the HDMI cable and it sounds great.
  20. It comes with the grill material and framework for them... I don't know it he is including the veneer but I would think he would be as most people don't buy the veneer for one speaker when they are doing 2. Maybe someone on the forum will contact him and find out. With one unfinished without the veneer, grill, etc., going to be a lot to finish beyond the price of buying. Perhaps the cab is finished like the other one, except for veneer. Also, replacement diaphrapms were used int the K77 tweets . . . I believe (according to Bob Crites website) no truly diaphrapm match has been found and tested. The ones on eBay, I think, are one of those he tested and not up to the quality of OEM. I sure do like the finish on the completed one with the veneer.
  21. I don't think it would be hard to finish.
  22. Apparently they are for sale now for $900! I just posted the link in the Alerts section.
  23. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/ele/4367753263.html According to the ad they are here... https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/113839-la-scala-1/
  24. If you would have put these up last month I would have jumped on them! I just purchased mine a month ago for more than you are asking.
