  1. Hey Steve I've an idea. Maybe you can take a few of those 100++ lbs. slabs of concrete out front and put them on top of the thirties to reduce sympathetic cabinet vibrations... lol ------------------ LSU PAINTBALL- We'll cover you with our balls! 2. Being the only one here to have experienced AVMAN'S AV Room many times I have to chime in here. The Room looks and sounds in-friggin-credible!! AVMAN was nice enough to throw a special superbowl party in that room and it was the BEST superbowl party I have attended to date. The room is great, and with the right materials (i,e. the right movies or music) the room becomes an expirience like no other. Steve the pictures came out great, I'll see you saturday and maybe we'll have time to enjoy the theater some more. BTW, when are we slated to put in the theater style doors? Something we could do next weekend? ------------------ LSU PAINTBALL- We'll cover you with our balls! 3. Gotta be the great SRV- He couldn't even read music but he played with some serious HEART, every song he played was phenominal. Add to the list Mr. BB King, Slow Hand Eric Clapton, David Gilmore, Steve Vie, Keith Richards... the list goes on and you guys have covered most of them. ------------------ LSU PAINTBALL- We'll cover you with our balls! 7. Hey ATB, Your dad's not the only one that bose has "brainwashed". Many people (years ago myself included) who know nothing of mid-to-high end audio think that bose is the end-all be-all of speaker technology. I'm not sure if the class curricullum has changed, but there was a marketing class here at LSU in which about half the class was devoted to modeling the BOSE (TRADEMARK/REGISTERED/ALLRIGHTSRESERVED/DIDWEMENTIONTRADEMARKED?&PATENTEDETC..) marketing scheme. All those millions going to Rush Limbaugh & Paul Harvey, getting the "old geezers" (peole who listen to am radio)to come off their money for the "best" audio system in the world. I think though that one distinction should be made here, The BOSE (TM/PATENT/REGISTERED/ETC..) Wave Radio is a pretty decent piece as far as table top radio/cd players go (but then again what self-respecting KLIPSCH FAN would listen to a tabletop system?), no its EVERYTHING else BLOWS, er I mean BOSE makes that sounds like crap. 10. Hey Too Much to Say Ray, You must have two or three computers going at once; 1 to see what questions need to be answered on this BB, another to research the answers, and yet another to research the research. Now seriously, that was a great explanation on what firewire is, and its history. It seems I learn more on this BB than I do at school. Keep the classes (and the info that comes with them) a' comin. 11. OK Guys I've been around this BB for a month or so now and feel I've gotten some great insights on why many of you love Klipsch. Now lets all let everyone know why. There's my question- With all the speakers available out there WHY DID YOU CHOOSE KLIPSCH? --For me the first pair of good ol' klipsches I heard was a pair of klf 10's. I was working at a REX a/v store and wanted to "check out" the local "competition". I had never heard of "high end" audio components at that time and was floored when I went to the local Klipsch dealer. I heard a pair of KLF 10's w/ a carver amp/pre-amp set-up and a VPI turntable. I thought- this can't be- they sound incredible and he (the salesman) is playing a record on them (I was pretty naive about a/v back then). that kicked me off on my insatiable hunger for better a/v. I finally broke down and put in an application to work there. Got hired the next day and played w/ klipsch every day. Boy those were the good ol' days. When I saw a pair of the 30's in medium oak I couldn't control myself I had to have them. I bought them and now am addicted to Klipsch. No other speaker sounds like them. Every time I audition another pair of speakers I just remember that first day w/ the 10's and how they sounded and know nothing else compares to the raw sound of Klipsch. ------------------ LSU PAINTBALL- We'll cover you with our balls! 12. SCW's would be a great choice (they definitely Have built-in "wife-appeal"). They also wouldn't be firing directly into your ears as would the sb's on the coffee table. 2-possibles: 1pr. SB1's mains 1 sc.5 center 1pr. scw1's rears or 1pr. sb2's mains 1 sc1 center 1pr. scw1's or 2's rears thats how da' Hog would handle it. Good Luck and keep on Klipschin' ------------------ LSU PAINTBALL- We'll cover you with our balls! 13. Hi Maxgator, I've set up a couple a' systems w/ 4-SB1's & a SC.5/ sw10 set-up. they were pretty impressive for thier size. This set-up is a definite step up from the quintets. As for your install problems w/ speakers on the wall I would have to see a layout of the room to hit on what to use for the rears. Can you post any pictures/ describe the room? ------------------ LSU PAINTBALL- We'll cover you with our balls! 14. Hi Paulsen, Welcome to the BB. Both the sb3's or another pair of sw3 in-walls should do the trick. This will leave your system perfectly matched. I would go with the bookshelf speakers if you can get them into a good location (this also allows for tweaking by moving positions to find the "perfect placement"). If asthetics is what you're looking for then go with the in-walls, but once they're in place they tend to stay there. Da' Hog. ------------------ LSU PAINTBALL- We'll cover you with our balls! 15. Congrats T-man! I have a Three-year old at home and another on the way (due in april). Children truly are gems. My son really enjoys it when dad cranks up the Klipsches. It becomes really interactive because he gets to pick out cd's and gets to turn on the amp. No, not yet the tube (in the pre-amp)has to warm up.... Alright now you can turn it on. Boy it sure is fun being a father! ------------------ LSU PAINTBALL- We'll cover you with our balls!
