  1. sorry, but they already been sold Adam
  2. use to fish there sometimes, but could never figure the fishing out, don't know how to fish water that is that clear....
  3. ok, road trip is over, speakers have a nice new home now.... the new owner knows something about wood finishes also, maybe he will fix them up real nice like......he has a really nice rig also .... he got both pair of speakers
  4. Vidalia still produces the sweetest onions on the planet. I was visiting my mom and friends in Macon from 7/16 to 7/19. Left my 25 year home in Macon back in October 89. Love to visit and hook up with life long friends. Did you ever work Plant Sherer in Juliette? My buddies and I used to swim and scuba dive in Lake Juliette. I guess I missed out on a great deal, sort of. Even if the Cornscalas were for sale when I was visiting Macon, I know the Ford Focus we rented would not have been able to bring them home to Florida. Bill Klipsch Fanatic, i worked at Plant Sherer in Juliette long time ago, that is a nice lake they got up there.... i seen some people scuba diving about 4 or 5 years ago... could have been you?
  5. Macon is very close to where I grew up, Vidalia. Shakey i work at the plant hatch power station sometimes... i work the outages (sometimes) every spring unless i'm mad at them, then i go to a diderent plant instead...
  6. when i bought my cornwalls, i had never seen or heard a pair of cornwalls, but a man named phil c. had a pair for sale in arkansas, so i had taken a job at ANO power station in arkansas , i work outages around the southeast, while i was there working 4 - 5 weeks making money, i could buy speakers that i had never seen here in georgia, i was in a honda mini van, i wanted the speakers so bad that i was willing to leave my middle seats there.... like when i was a teenager back in the 70's... speakers where more important than my car seats.... but i did get them in there, the next year i went back and bought cornscalas....lol they went in van also.... got it figured out now....
  7. every now and then you have to make them road trips....lol
  8. i sold a pair of jbl 3411wxa with the cornscalas, pending a tuesday road trip meeting.... both pair for 900 my son will get a decent car...lol sold a boat saturday, think i have a bite on 2 dirt track racing karts i listed an hour ago
  9. opps, got a bite.... got to go see whats on the line....
  10. ok, i emailed Bob about the board material these speakers are made of, this is the reply bruce Those are made of a material called MDO. Medium Density Overlay. The core is plywood with a coating of MDF. The cabinets were made by Chris Munson. At the Klipsch gathering in Hope in (I think) 2006, Chris brought the cabinets and I brought the internals and we assembled them in Hope and demonstrated them to the people attending the gathering. They were one pair of the first two pair of Cornscala prototypes built in the Cornwall size cabinet. Lots of forum members and lots of Klipsch employees have seen and heard those speakers. If you look closely at the top edge corners, you can see the very complex joint the Chris made for joining the material. Thanks, Bob Crites
  11. this Karman Kardon HK3490 is 4 years old and was rotated in and out 10-12 times maybe, but sat in a box mostly, as i started trying tube amps.....sounded really good with my jbl's, but was kinda bright with my cornscalas and cornwalls ... has 120 wpc...box has more wear than reciever i think.... it's like new condition..... $200 shipped..... this item has been sold, thanks
  12. this fisher 400, is nice and clean for sure... eary version... everything works, tested with a few hard nights on it, pushed it some.... i will say the right dail light will sometimes not come on, i just give it a tap and it comes on.... with nice cabinet, $550 shipped ... this item has been sold, thanks
  13. got these from Bobs about 2 years ago, someone didn't come pick them up so i bought them... I think they could have been a pair of his test mules...they don't have a finish on them, not sure what kind of board on them, (maybe he can tell us) high density MDFmaybe? it's heavy for sure.... they sound awesome, i rotated them in and out with a pair of cornwalls... but my son is turning 16 and will be needing a car soon, some things need to be sold, i felt my cornwalls are a more forgiving and not as revealing speaker and i can play more didrent types of music on them... that being said.... these are awesome for sure... jazz and classical music sound awesome... 700 cash or paypal, local pickup in macon, ga... i can't see shipping these... i also going to sell a few other things in another listing
  14. i have hardwood floors and i use dollies with wheels, think i pay 9 dollars each (on sale) at northern tools.... picks my cornwalls and corscalas up about 3 maybe 4 inches, place speakers about 12 to 16 inches out away from walls..... sounds awsome... sounds a lot better than on the floor, interacting with the floor .... plus i can move speakers also.... without attaching anything to speakers.... works for me
  15. i would let him pick what he wants.... you just pay for it... that way if hes not happy with it, it's on him...
  16. I have cornwalls and cornscalas in an older home with hardwood floors, I keep them about 4" off the floor on roller dollies to reduce the base interacting with the floor, about 6" off back wall, and 14" maybe off side walls... kinda out of the corners ... bass sounds awsome there imo.... it would be hard for me to see cornwalls not having enough bass ... i would think it's something else also...
  17. i upgraded my jbl's 4311wxa crossovers and put new L-Pads back this past spring.... tonight I'll see can't i find the info on what all i did.... i do know they sound more flat and better now than they ever did.... i would think the L-100 would be the same or close to the 4311... my experience with these speakers is i like them for playing rock music.... i play jazz mostly on my cornscalas or cornwalls, but sometimes i move my cornscalas back in back bedroom and get out my L80t's and 4311's and play rock for a few days in living room, being i'll still have a jazz setup with the cornwalls if i need jazz..... i keep a stereo on each end of my living room and always moving things around and trying things... at this time i'm trying to decied if i like a new tube amp i bought, a st-35 clone.... it sounds good to me but i have to play to louder to get my horns to sing on my cornscalas... my sony str-7065 will make them sings at lower volumes because it's a little brighter i guess ... and i don't have to worry about my neighbors also.... kinda like that wonderfull sound at lower volumes.....
  18. thanks lilwing, once i get home i'll never use the headphones anymore anyway... it was an idea i got in my head i guess .... besides, i'm near chicago and theres lots of nice speakers around this area...lol ... look at them every night....just trying not to buy....
  19. most of the time i stream jazz from kindle fire, or computer....being it does have a volume control i think i can get by for a while without a preamp..... i do have a question though.... i'm working out of town, 770 miles from home, and i'm wondering how can i listen to it with headphones maybe... .anyway to hook the headphones to the speaker termails? or buy some more speakers...lol trying to break the speaker habbit.....
  20. thanks everyone, i decieded to get the st-35 clone... just felt its the right choice for now... it's new and i shouldnt have to do anything right away... being its my frist tube, may play with some tubes though.....thanks
  21. derrickdj1, have my eyes on that one also...thanks
