  1. Thanks for taking time to reply Dave. Are the paper in oil you used huge? The ones Dean used in my A crossover seem huge. They are the only pio I have seen . Stacy
  2. I also am able to log in now with the help of Dean and Amy. I was locked out after the migration. When I would try to reset my password it just wouldn't work . When i tried to start a new account it wouldn't allow as the email was already used. Wonder how many are still trying to get in?
  3. I know this section of the forum is for speaker discussions, but I just wasn't sure were to ask as this isn't a kllipsch product. I am being walked thru a restoration of a early LK72 (brown face) . I find myself at the point of capacitor choice. I really want to keep the sound as close to original as possible. From my research it seems that the caps in the signal path are what are to be concerned with. More often than not Russian film and foil are discussed. Would anyone care to share their experiences on capacitor choice and if they feel the amp retained its original glory. A few concerns I may have 1. size of cap related to stock ( being able to fit in space original came from ) 2 source to buy from 3 cost ( would like to be able to keep electricity turned on ,to enjoy the amp when done) Any and all insight will be appreciated greatly.
  4. Thanks for the reply guys ,I have been in touch with Craig he had recomended this post of WTB during one of are first conversations. As for the 222c ,I may wavier from my initial list eventually,But for now i still have my blinders on .
  5. Thanks T2K ,I am interested ,would you be willing to send me some pics.
  6. Hi everyone,I am in the market for a 299 d,272,296 or a LK72 preferably brown face.Cosmetic condition is of the most importance, fully functioning would be great but not paramount as i will be sending it for a restoration. Thanks for any help in advance. Stacy
  7. Bill,I would whole heartedly agree the r117 is a top of the line receiver.I am using one currently in my 2 channel rig.I switch between it and a jolida fx10.I don't use the tuner verry often but when u do it is the best tuner I have heard.love the three position loudness switch, gives it a tube like sound in the 1st position.I wish I could hear the 105 before pulling the trigger, Stacy
  8. I am looking at luxman lv105u.checking to see if anybody had any experience with one.and your impression.I am intreaged by the fact it uses three types of amplification, mos fet, tube, and j fet.I read several reviews last night and as i suspected some liked it outhers didn't .the amp is 80wpc .some of the negative were the inability to carry strong base.maybe they were driving less efficient speakers? If that be the case.I don't see that as a issue as i will be using it with a pair of khorn.
  9. Yes I intend to check first with the manufacturer.Derrickdj1 are the glasses with your Samsung powered?
  10. Like they say pic is worth a thousand words.I'm looking forward to getting my outher sub in the mix.thanks for the info.
  11. My deñon has a sub out for one sub,if I want to use the second what would be the best way to hook it up.1 with y connected at the avr.2use the speaker inputs on the sub from the closest speaker to the sub location.
  12. I watched Thor last night on my new sharp 70"led.it was the first time to try the 3d function on my tv.I have not seen a 3d movie in close ti 30 years and was not a big fan then. It seemed to me they were blurrie and give me a head ache.wow what 30 years can do for technology.I was amazed at the clarity of the pic.and didn't get the head ache like before.I will still watch mostly 2d but the 3 d is nice once in a while.now fir my question.does anyone know what would be a good source for some extra glasses the tv came with two pair, but u will need to get some for my brother and sister in law and 2 niece.I can get them from the tv manufacture.but I would like to find some maybe larger ,as the size of my head is a legend in my community(lol) .I can do the internet search ,thought I would see if anybody had some first hand experience here first thanks Stacy
  13. Thanks for the reply .I didn't dilute the oil.I saturated a rag wiped them with the grain let sit for couple min.then wiped them with a dry cotton rag.repeated the process.the odor is getting better.it was so strong due to the fact all of the s peaker are in the same room.so it would be a good idea to buff them again with a clean dry cloth?it has been about 5 days.I do have to say they look 10x better . Thanks for the info
  14. I oiled my Cornwalls, bells, and khorns last Sunday. I bet all the previous owners had never done it as they were dry and faded.made them look great.I'm wondering if I could use bees wax on top of the blo.to hopefully cover the oder from the blo.any ideas would be appreciated
  15. Seem s like a scam, that pair has sold several times in the last six months same pictures and the sell it now store.notice the water stain on bottom of right speaker.beware
  16. If they are still available I would like to buy them.pm sentr
  17. Thanks Ivanheard, ill have to investigate the manual to see if I have that feature.people sleeping is my main concern.
  18. I may have to get a pair of ear muff's for me and the lab.the kind shooters use that let you hear normal volume and turn on during a loud noise .lol
  19. I just got a new tv(70"sharp led)oblivion was my first blue Ray to watch on it.very entertaining.I need to read manual on my avr.when I got the volume right for dialog the special effects would make my black lab leave the floor about 18" .do most or any avr's have a feature to adjust some of the difference in volume between the two.

  21. hi youthman While I cant comment on the difference in the sound with your speakers,as I am unfamiliar with them. I do have a nad 2700 that I use to drive khorns.I would describe the amp as warm (tube like).with a ton of head room. I would bet you will like the amp .but you can always resale if you find you don't care for the sound. Actually I'm glad you post the question, got me to thinking I have been running my Jolda 10wpc and carver tube cd player since getting my pio A's from Dean ,which sound nothing short of amazing .(Imho) I need to throw the nad back in the mix.if you give the nad a try I would be interested on your take. Stacy
