  1. Averaged >125 mph over 118 miles of highway, legally
  2. Wow, I recently was wondering the same thing, so I spent the better part of a day listening to a few tracks over and over with different settings for small/large (all my speakers are big), X-over on receiver, X-over on sub, sub level, etc., and made a noticeable improvement in the configuration. At the end of it all the X-over on the receiver is set to 80Hz, and all the speakers are set to small.
  3. Probably a long shot, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I am looking for another pair of medium oak KG 5.5 in good condition. I will consider other finishes also. The closer to Dallas the better
  4. Actually the black one is $111 shipped I put mine on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&item=200003322176
  5. Awesome deal! Wow. Anyway, I find that my 5.5's reproduce voice just fine, so the 5.2's or 4.5's should also.
  6. I have a nice KG2.2V for sale. PM sent
  7. The scratch The nicks (sorry for the focus problem)
  8. Actually the 2.5 and 2.2 have a slightly different woofer, and since the rest of the bedroom system is 2.5's, I would like the center to also be.
  9. For sale: One nice KG2.2V in oiled oak. There is a very shallow scratch on the bottom that is ~2" long, and 5 or 6 tiny nicks (less than a half millimeter each, tiny). The cones are perfect, and it sounds great. The grill is dusty, but has no damage. The Klipsch emblem is missing, and there are two tiny holes in the grill where it was attached. The S/N is 253920664 indicating a 1992 manufacture. I bought this on eBay years ago. Asking price is $140 shipped CONUS, less for local pickup by DFW airport. Pics later. I would trade for a medium oak KG2.5V in comperable condition.
  10. Thanks everyone. I will keep my eyes open for another pair of medium oak 5.5's.
  11. Where are these located? Medium oak? Perfect?
  12. My current HT consists of four KG5.5 (mains and sides in a 6.1), a KG5.2 (rear) and a KV-3 (center). I am planning to replace the TV with a projector and screen, and replace the KV-3 and KG5.2 with another pair of KG5.5's, but was wondering what the forum thought. It seems to me this would be the best way to "sonically match" the speakers.
  13. The artist should not have sold the rights if they thought they might want them later. This is business, and contracts, and money. People and businesses buy the rights hoping for return on investment. I wholeheartedly agree that Sony's anti-piracy "root kit" was over the top and not legal, and I feel they should have been more severely punished, but that is not my decision. As for not being in the minority; my mother had a saying for that. Something to do with jumping off a cliff or something.....
  14. That study does not make it legal, nor does all the BS claims. The issue here is intelectual property, plain and simple.
  15. Last year I bought an SW8-II on eBay for my bedroom system. When I hooked it up, there was hum, but when I swapped it with my living room sub, neither system had a problem. Since I was in an apartment knowing I was buying a house in the spring, I just packed it up and assumed it was a "ground loop" from a search here that would probably go away when I moved. Fast forward to today, I finally hooked it up again. The hum is back, and is variable with the gain on the sub. It plays through the other 5 channels. The system is a Denon AVR-1801 receiver, four KG2.5 and a 2.2V, and the sub. Is the sub shot, or is there something I can do to correct this. It doesn't make noise when I connect it to the main system, but that little sub isn't doing much in the great room.
  16. I have a pair of KG 5.2 that I bought on eBay a couple years ago that arrived missing a couple of the "feet". I would like to repair this, but am not sure where to get the parts. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  17. I am looking for a house, and am wondering if carpet or hardword is best for the theater room.
  18. Me too. My 10 year old KG 5.5's and KV-3 still look as good as the day I got them home.
  19. I called and someone had already claimed them. He took my number, and said he would call me if that fell through. If my phone rings, they will be mine. I already went to the ATM and have a stack of fresh twenties to hand him I believe he realized they are worth more and pulled them.
  20. I have a Denon 1801, four KG2.5, and a KG2.2V in the bedroom. It sounds nice for what it is, but is lacking bass, I don't want anything real punchy or loud, but would like to fill out the low end. Everything else is medium oak, so I was thinking about an SW-8 or -10. There is an 8 on eBay now. What do they sell for. What is the difference between the series II and the original?
