  1. Great video Youthman, thank you and thanks to Klipsch for putting the 7III's in the hands of a trusted forum member for a review! I wanted to share with you an album I thought you might enjoy based on your description of your search for a great jazz bass track. The album I believe is a great reference recording for bass as you were searching for on spotify. Its pretty straightforward.... a trumpet and a stand up bass, two acoustic instruments in the hands of virtuosos. Check it out I'd love to hear what you think and how it sounds in your room(s). It sounds great on the Khorns in my main room! Cheers
  2. Im curious about these as well..... I'll probably bite at some point. I'll post something when that happens.
  3. Hey there yeah we do need to get a chicago land gathering on the books, Im always up for that. Sometime over the holidays would be great. I would be happy to do something smaller if john want stop hear a pair of Cornwalls. Let me know
  4. Hmmmm interesting read. Im a EL34 fan, my favorite has been the winged C so I guess Im going to have to buy a pair of the sophia Electra's now.....
  5. I run a whopping 12 watts of class A power. Its clean dynamic and hits the spot. Considering the that my speakers are probably only consuming maybe a watt I seem to have plenty of head room. I've yet to hear it clip.
  6. Based on the size of the room I'd go CW's. I own CWII's and Forte I's personally I think the the CWII's have a bit more clarity and better imaging over the forte's. They are in separate rooms.... with the models I own I'd say your more aware of the fortes bass but I'd also say that its bit more bloated than the CW's bass. Bare in mind that I replaced the stock woofers in my CW's with eminence kappa 15s which I noticed a improvement immediately. Both are fantastic speakers but again based on your room size I'd say Cornwalls are the way to go.
  7. Jim my amp which you've heard on my cornwalls is a SET. Technically speaking its a SEP single ended pentode. It runs EL34's as the power tubes.
  8. its a conrad johson amp, probably worth a gamble for a couple hundred bucks I'd imagine.
  9. I am one of the devoted believers of SE tube amplification with the heritage speakers I've owned. Interesting to hear your opinion on the Pass/MC comparison. Makes sense to me. Thanks for your reply, enjoy the cornwalls. Great speakers!
  10. Great system! Curious about the differences you heard from the Mc gear and the pass gear? Also why are you selling the tubes? I love them on the CWs.
  11. Good to hear I've been considering the upgrade for a while and was wanting to hear some reviews. I will say that I am very leased with upgrades I made to my khorns. Enjoy
  12. Nicely done, thats a very good price. I just paid more than that for a pair thats pretty rough with woofers that didn't match, nasty corroded cross overs and blown tweeters. I'd say you did real well!!
  13. I have a signet on my office TT, gyrodeck, I bought it used. It came with a Signet and I was told they were the premium offering from technics if memory serves me right. The one on my table sounds really nice.
  14. Hey Jim, in short yes I am still enjoying them and hearing a noticeable improvement, no question. That said, I hope I get more time with them this weekend. I,ll post a pic of the cross overs. You can all opine.
  15. I think the tweeter is a beyma cp-25 but I might be mistaken.
