  9. Does anybody live close enough to these to get a look at them?
  10. You guys are right. Thanks for talking me back from the ledge. I will enjoy my cornwalls and eventually the KHorns will happen. What will likely happen is I'll sell my CW's and not have anything until the KH's come along. (well I'll still have the RF-7 II's during the dead period).
  11. Yea, I should probably stick with my original plan. I have two "o.k." corners--they're not ideal. One wall is great but the other wall has a window. Both corners are the same. I am a little on the fence about it. Plus, I'll have to wait until the right khorns become available, or I can get the new CW III's right now. I probably need to just be patient and enjoy my 87 CW's until a good set of kh come along at the right price.
  12. Well, I sold my 83 Cornwalls over the weekend. I am gonna miss those cane grills. I still have my 87 Cornwalls (black grills). The plan is to also sell the 87's and find some khorns. I did have another thought though . I ran across some new b-stock cornwall III's that I could probably get for about the same amount I will pay for a nice set of khorns. So, the question is new cornwalls vs. old khorns. There's something about new crisp clean speakers coming in factory sealed boxes []. Has anyone listened to cornwall III's. I just wonder how they sound compared to older cornwalls and older klipschorns.

  14. Can't really do four cornes. The wall opposite their present position is an open wall. There does seem to be some kind of synergy going on with the room and them stacked though. They really sound good. Each corner sounds like one speaker. Sometimes I have to walk up to them to make sure the tops and bottoms are playing. I am on an eventual klipschorn mission. I'm not in that big of a hurry though. I've only had the corns a couple of months, and I do love them--I just can't get k-horns off my mind.[]
  15. 1983 & 1987 The 83's have the cane grills. The only thing done to them is I had Bob Crites rebuild the crossovers. The 87's have black grills--nothing done to them.
  16. definitly a scam. Here is another auction he has on 86 k-horns: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190792969829?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1426.l2649 and here is the original auction for those speakers: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-Klipschorn-Vintage-Horn-Loaded-Speakers-cir-1986-No-Reserve-/130776493899?nma=true&si=%252BA8ZnxGf8DC7SShpe5nfcAV7O8o%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

  18. I've had my cornwalls for a couple months now, and I love them. But, now I've got k-horn fever. I haven't actually listened to k-horns, but from what I've read they are in a different league. I have two pretty good corners--not perfect--each corner has one good wall and one with a window. Chances are it won't happen anytime soon. I just have to find someone who wants to trade a set of k-horns for (2) sets of cornwalls that just happens to be in driving distance.[]
  19. Agree. I bought both my Cornwall sets from him. I like to keep tabs of what he is selling, because its always something sweet, and he's located only about 20 min. from my house.[]

  22. Gongrats, and what a great happy-birthday-to-me present. I am a new member to the corn club too. Look forward to your pics and review. One of my CW sets are '83's too.[Y]
  23. Yep, you built em. Looks like Steve did help you that day also "J" must have helped. Look on the other side for builder's/sander's initials. Those initials are "USA" (not JSA) meaning, built in the...... They are on every pair. lol--USA duh[] Don't I feel smart. I will look on the other side.
  24. \Yea, I think they are just a touch. I was trying not to steal too much of the window. Wife accecptance factor of the corns is not thru the roof. She loves the way they sound, but she wasn't too happy with rearranging the room (it'll grow on her). I adjusted them a little already.
