Am I to infer the twice the rated power handling comes into play at high volumes when demanding everything from the speaker/amp? So would it be safe at lower volumes to use a lower powered amp?
Yes.

Oh crap! The Polks are rated at 1000?!?
Bose 901 was unlimited, until they weren't lol.
The 2x the speaker rating is from a Klipsch brochure. I will try to find it, later lol- 1

~ For maximum volume, the amp should be at least 2x the speaker's rating. It is in writing.

Has equipment similar to our ol buddy Chuck. BTW, has anyone seen Chuck lately?

I go to the suspected scammer's fb page to see who has 'liked' their posts. If their names are mercan, and the likes' names I can't pronounce, then that is a red flag. One can drill deeper and go to the pages of the likes and see they are usually from the country of Scam.
The C4 and Marantz 2600 are listed in Cincinnati, the RTR is listed in Charleston WV, and he 'has' a Pioneer 1250 and Sansui G9000 listed in Jackson MS.
Sure, there is a John, Paul, and Jesse, but look at the other names.

Welcome to the forum. Your speakers look great.

I have a few B&K drivers but have never bought only diaphragms. What tweeter drivers do you have?
Also, be careful giving out or responding to emails or PMs. Scammers have lured victims to those dark alleys.

The high road has less traffic allowing those who take it to go farther and faster.
This thread will not get better, regardless of who said what. IMHO, I think it would be best to let this one fall off of page one and be gone in time or ask a Mod to nuke it.
If you start a new thread, just be aware that:1) There are some knowledgeable, helpful, and (most of the time) friendly members here
2) A lot of the members here know what something is worth (we have seen a lot)
3) We have more than what we need, so it's not easy to get a buyer here
Sorry for your loss and GLWYS

So the OP is offering these for 400.00 less on US Audio Mart. That’s kind of the opposite of the norm around here. I know I always give a price break for forum members.
Many moons ago I exposed someone offering speakers for less on Craigslist than on this forum. I agree with what you said. The people here have treated me and many others very well. Most members give each other price breaks, not price gouging each other.

@HumanTrophy you have a headstart on taking them apart to restore them. Here is an option for the cabinet recoating, most people use Duritex.
Here is a K33 out of a Cornwall. It is not the right woofer, but..... -

I had early morning blindness. Thanks for pointing it out...
That wasn't what I was trying to do. I agree with what you said. IMHO, @HumanTrophy should set the K44e aside until another one, if ever, is scored. In the meantime, use a pair of K43, or even K33 to get them up and going.

(k-44e) in one speaker.
You might reach out to Eminence to see what they offer that's closer than this one.

I REALLY want to restore these, but I can’t find any info on the woofer that originally came with these, or anything that could potentially serve as a replacement. Any suggestions from someone with a little more info on these?
The K44 will probably not be an easy find. As Bruce said, the K43 can work in its place, and I would replace them both with the same woofer.
Here is some more info about the two woofers.
If you can score some TSCM, your C-1 will match them.- 1

There was a boy who worked in the produce section of the market. A man came in and asked to buy half a head of lettuce. The boy told him they only sold whole heads of lettuce, but the man replied he did not need a whole head, but only a half head.
The boy said he would go ask his manager about the matter.
The boy walked into the back room and said, "There's some arshole out there who wants to buy only half a head of lettuce."
As he was finishing saying this he turned around to find the man standing right behind him, so he added, "And this gentleman wants to buy the other half."
The manager okayed the deal and the man went on his way. Later the manager called on the boy and said, "You almost got yourself in a lot of trouble earlier, but I must say I was impressed with the way you got yourself out of it. You think on your feet and we like that around here. Where are you from son?"
The boy replied, "Minnesota sir."
"Oh really? Why did you leave Minnesota" asked the manager.
The boy replied, "They're all just whores and hockey players up there."
Really replied the manager, "My wife is from Minnesota!!"
The boy replied, "No kidding! What team did she play for?"

plus one on the 1 watt, or the right few watts.
99.9% of the time I (we on here) only need, want, and use a watt or less. Most are looking for better sound, not (only) louder.
