Welcome to the club. Having them up like you do should be ideal. You source (CD vs flashdrive) will make a difference in quality, too. I've tried several times to warm up to AVR but keep rolling back to SS. The Epic line is a bit more power hungry. What do you listen to?

Welcome to the Belle Club. I have used several receivers and amps. I have the Realistic STA2300. Though it's a beast for power and has great SS sound, I like some of my smaller Marantz, Sansui and Harman Kardon for quality.
