I was always under the impression that what you describe here was the 1.5- basically an H-1 with the k-53 driver. Once Klipsch went with the front mount, non removable back style cabinet they were considered H-II's.

Yes to this. I have had the HII and that is all correct. I remembered that Bruce had the square cups and I had the round terminal cups, which we thought was strange. A few weeks ago, I found out that the round cups were the 4 Ohm.

I don't think I've seen a rear mounted, plastic k-701 horn but my memory isn't the greatest any more.

I have some H 1.5(?) that have the plastic K701 with K53 drivers that are mounted inside. The horns have the crescent cut for the woofer, just like for the HII.  I just now bought some H 1.5(?) that had the cast metal K700 horn with the K53 driver. I had it out for the swap, and then Mookie pointed out the threaded-to-flat adapter. His H1 had the K700 with the K55 and my H1.5 had the K700 with the K53 driver.

I'm not sure why this is, maybe Klipsch was trying to use the in-stock parts, which was smart.

Hmmm, I thought the round cup was on the Heresy 1.5, when they got all the parts switched out. No more k55, etc.

I have a pair of H1.5 that I converted/perverted to Super Heresy. They have the plastic K701 squawker with flange flange-mounted K53 driver.

Last week, I found some Heresy "1" in STL that I wanted. @MookieStl bought them for me on Friday. When Mookie got home, he found that they had the K53 squawker, meaning they are H1.5, not 1s... grr. I wanted the H1 so I could use the threaded K55. Mookie, the generous man that he is, said that he has some K700 which would let me use the threaded K55. I drove there on Saturday to pick them up.

I am, finally, getting to the real muddy part:
The H1.5s that Mooking picked up have the K700, AND they have a threaded-to-flat adapter for the K53.

That one is not as bad as it looks. Some of KG stuff looks like that too. It might be scary looking, but it’s true point-to-point. Kinda cool.

Agreed. That one was my very first recap. In trying to work those caps on those cups, I was like a kid trying to tie shoes for the first time, since then I have gotten better at both.
I wish that I would have used heat shrink tubing.

Wait a minute.... You're having problems with this one?
The caps on the round terminal cup (4 Ohm) are so tight that they look like wasps on a nest. lol

However, it is getting people starting to participate in this thread

This would have worked when there were more than 3 members in this forum. In other words, don't get discouraged that there are only a few participants.

Also, if you want to search, similar ABing has gone on here since we were cave dwellers.  I have AB the KLF-30 vs CF-4; KLF-30 vs, Chorus II; redhead vs brunet vs blonde; Cornwall vs Chorus; KP262 vs KP250; KP301 vs KP362, and many others.

I knew this was going to be tuff to sell with Local Pick Up.

I believe your price is right and they look great. There are very few members here, so there is little conversation and nothing is selling very easily. I was hoping that posting pictures would help Gil's equipment move. Wishful thinking, but, maybe, in time, some members will come back.
Soon, if things go right, I will be doing a run from central KY to St. Louis, then to the NC coast. My STL to NC trip can go right by you if that helps. I will be on I-40 from Nashville and driving East until I see water.

  7. Selling a pair of KP301. The missing plastic guards are with the speakers. They look a little rough, but nothing that Duratex can't fix. $800 $600 OBO local pick up close to Joliet IL.

  8. Selling a pair of rough KP201 (Heresy II parts in a Pro ported cabinet) and a nice pair of Electro Voice ELX118 subs. The KP201 are not pretty, but nothing that can't be fixed with some Duratex. The plastic edge guards are with the 201, but are not shown in the pictures. The EV have 18" woofers and are in good condition with a couple of small scuffs. Pictures show the worst places. The XLR cables are included and are shown in the pictures. $1,400 $1,200 OBO for the whole package local pickup close to Joliet IL.cEV.thumb.JPG.c3ecd44bf52ae0cdd95bf2486c24c2aa.JPGcEV118.thumb.JPG.626897f60116504f719345ab305cbc68.JPGCEVd.thumb.JPG.e16453c397e99a62f75eb5c4aa5558b2.JPG
