  1. Only the ones that have not been taught to speak. A lady is walking down the street to work and sees a parrot in a pet store. She stops to admire the bird. The parrot says to her, "Hey lady, you are really ugly." Well, the lady is furious! She storms past the store to her work. On the way home she saw the same parrot in the window and the parrot upon seeing her says, "Hey lady, you are really ugly." She was incredibly ticked now. The next day on the way to work she saw the same parrot and once again it said, "Hey lady, you are really ugly." The lady was so furious that she stormed into the store and threatened to sue the store and have the bird killed. The store manager apologized profusely and promised the bird wouldn't say it again. The next day, when the lady walked past the store after work the parrot said to her, "Hey lady." She paused, scowled with an icy and deadly stare, and said with a hoarse voice, "Yes?" The bird, strutting back and forth on its perch in a cocky manner, said, "You know."
  2. @WMcD said "Squawker is PWK's subroquet for the midrange. Dogs woof. Birds tweet. I don't really know what kinda critters squawk. A study in onamotapoetics too. Gil" What was I doing in 2001?
  3. Bob suggested that there might be other problems that need to be addressed on some horns. A lot of people added damping materials to the metal K400 and a few others. The new Heresy addressed and corrected many complaints about the earlier offerings. Posting some of what Bob said just for the lol. ā€œI will keep repeating this so all concerned will perhaps see it. I bought a pair of Heresys that had been someone had rope-caulked many years earlier. It was a pretty extreme case where the guy for some reason put that nasty stuff all over the tweeter, midrange horn and driver, the crossover and the woofer. The junk had been in there long enough that the rope-caulk had started to de-compose and the oil had dripped out of it and was all over the cabinet and even some of it on the woofer cone. When I tried to remove it, the sorry stuff had hardened and took all the paint off the horn and all other parts it had been applied to. Anyway, now if I have a ringing problem with a horn, I tighten up the screws holding the horn to the motor board real good. Bob Cā€ ā€œI am not criticizing the goal, just the technique. If tightening up the horn did not work, you could try a gasket around the mouth flange. If more is still needed, how about a large package of rubber bands to put around the horn? Anything except that nasty rope caulk. Bob Cā€
  4. Nope. I would not do anything, I mean nothing at all to the Heresy IV, seriously. Roy and the team got that one right as right needs to be. Placement and what powers them are the only two things I would work on to dial them in.
  5. It depends on the horn. The K700 is a lot less apt to need damping vs the K400. Which horn are you thinking about needing damping material? There have been many threads about this. Since there are so few remaining members who can help with this, I would google it to get a lot more info.
  6. I bought the dot (Lil Wrecker). It was great meeting you Rich. I am really sorry that your ability to hear lower Hz has gone. To anyone thinking of buying any of Rich's other offerings, buy with confidence. I missed out on some other great deals.
  7. Sadly, @davidness is another one who left and hasn't been back since 2021. Where are you located? I might know where there is another pair.
  8. If they sound okay, I would not, yet. There is at least one member here who still uses those types of caps in his 1963(8?) Khorns. He said that they measure in spec and sound fine. Can you post pictures or state what the drivers are? From that info, you might be able to swap out the whole networks so you can AB them and maybe hear if they need recapped. (wish you were close, I have a few networks you could try)
  9. I don't get it, like there is nothing there when I click on the link.
  10. Turn your music down so you can hear your phone.... it's ringing. šŸ˜œ
  11. Sorry to hear about your joint problems.
  12. 3 of the 4 members in this thread do not come to this forum anymore. @teaman might be able to help you with some information.
  13. I do appreciate you for that. You have a service for replacing caps and building networks. I mentioned your name too, but that didn't cause any problem. The last I read, you posted that you want to be removed as an official Klipsch cap replacer. Is that still the case or are you back with Klipsch?
  14. Nice amp. I like the M504 and M508. I have the same Preamp, but I have never used it.
  15. I don't see anything either. @Jeff Matthews nothing loaded that we can see.
  16. No, and the warden isn't a bad person either. He's just doing what he thinks is right.
  17. It's not like Klipsch is still making the MTM. Some have bought the MCM1900 that didn't come with the MTM, so it should be a non-issue to point them in a direction that makes them happy, builds trust, and they might stay. It's not a matter of promoting other party's offerings: It's just conversations without acting like options don't exist. The game that gets played upsets people and they, rightfully so, feel tricked, rather than feeling they were treated like adults. The game is causing a Streisand effect and is driving people to the competition. The huge departure of valued members should be an indication that the new rules have killed the forum. The low turnout for Mr. Klipsch's birthday bash is proof that it is hurting all the way around. One or two say that they are done, but they come right back. Some say they are leaving and that's what they do. Most left without saying so and the exodus since 2020 should have been avoided. The new Heritage sounds a lot better than earlier offerings. Some existing owners will buy new, while most can't afford 10, 20, or $30,000 speakers, so a small number will try to improve the sound of what they own. Since the Heritage line is less than 5% of new Klipsch sales and none of the new ones need to be refreshed or upgraded it should have never been any worry. I am sure GM would not cut relations with someone who wants to install Brembo brake pads on their Vette, rather than AC Delco. It would be a disaster for GM to condemn them. Caps and diaphragms have to be a microscopic fraction of a percent of sales and are not worth what they have cost. It's like wasting dollars to save pennies. Just my 2 cents.
  18. Everyone has freeze brain except the one without one. And I thought that my response was funny.
  19. Teacher: "Johnny, I want you to say a sentence that begins with the letter i" Little Johnny: "I is..." Teacher interrupts: no Johnny, always say "I am". Little Johnny: "Ok Miss... I am the ninth letter of the alphabet."
  20. This weekend (March 16 or 17) I will be traveling from Chicago, through Indy, and Cinci, to Lexington KY, and can drop them off on that route if that helps a buyer.

  22. Some have used a Tangent 400 to make the larger box 'ported Heresy' speakers. I am using the Eminence Kappalite 3012 HO in my Super H. Eminence Delta 12a HO, Delta Pro 12a HO, Kappalite 3012HO, and Celestion TF1225 have all proven to work well.
