  1. Im 8 feet from the tv so I dont mind the tv speakers. Cant use surround all the time because it pisses off my neighbors, mainly the sub. I cannot run optical sound from the reciever to the tv because the tv does not have an optical input, only an output. I fixed the issue. Swapped the optical cable and it fixed it. Old one must have had a fracture in the glass. I sell this stuff for a living but I am far from an expert with receivers, I can tell you anything about a tv.
  2. I dont know of a way to allow sound to pass through to the receiver to the tv when I only want to use the tv speakers. I dont use my surround sound a lot, mostly just for watching movies with my PS3, which is ran through the receiver with HDMI. My 360, One, and Cable box are all ran to the tv with optical ran back to the receiver.
  3. I have my home theater set up as a 7.1 system and when I use the optical cable coming out of my tv (watching Netflix on my Xbox 360 and Xbox One) the voices come from the FR speaker instead of Center. All of my speaker wires are in the correct channel outputs according to which speaker is where. When I run HDMI through the receiver everything is fine, my issue is just when I run optical. My setup is this: Yamaha RXV573 receiver, Klipsch SW112 sub, Klipsch F-30 floor standing speakers acting as FR and FL, and Klipsch Quintetv's as Center, R, L, BR, BL. Tv is the Samsung UN55ES8000. Any ideas? Thanks.
  4. That LG 6500 is a really nice Plasma tv, good choice!!
  5. those mounts look pretty nice, I might get some of those when I own my own place.
  6. Also another question I came up with.......is it safe to put the F-30's beside my tv? I was going to do it but I was worried about the magnets in the speakers hurting my tv. I looked at a few Onkyo speakers at my work and they are stamped on the back that they are not magnetically shielded. Right now I have the F-30's about 3 feet away from my tv on each side.
  7. Those SB20's are nice, they sound great. The Quintet's are suprisingly loud for their size. I got my KF-30's for about half price as well because of my employee discount. I almost bought the KF-10's but it wasnt much more to just get these 30's.
  8. Awesome thank you. I went ahead and switched the speaker outputs this morning before work. I will adjust the crossover hz tonight when i get home.
  9. I have 1 cable going to each, everything is hooked up to the outputs labeled on the back of the reciever for how I have them set up. 2 Quintets in the rear, 2 on the sides of the room which are in the front L and R outputs for the speakers, and the center which of course is in the center output. The F-30's have one cable running to each and plugged into the bottom jacks, there is a brass bracket going from the bottom jack on the F-30 to the top jack. The F-30's are hooked up to the bi amp/zone b output.
  10. Also turbogen.....did you get your towers at Best Buy? They look really close to the 30's and if you got them at best buy, they are actually the F-28's. I work at hhgregg and we have the F-30s.
  11. The quintets sound awesome. I was impressed when i heard them at work so i bought a set for myself, no regrets. I got them for half price as well sor that was a big decision factor too.
  12. ok cool, it's no big deal for me to switch them. It actually sounds decent set up the way it is. Will it hurt anything if I leave it this way? I tested it out with the movie Red with Bruce Willis, the scene where the team of guys destroys his home with the M4's. Sounded freaking amazing.
  13. I have it set up that way to have all 7 speakers on at once for surround sound. Is it not recommended to do that? The back of my reciever says bi-amp/zone b, so I figured the kf-30's would be the ones to go there since they are bi amp speakers, right? I am by no means an expert on audio, I can tell you anything about a computer or a tv, but I have no idea when it comes to audio. This is how a friend of mine suggested I set it up, he is a DJ, so I figured he would know since he deals with all kinds of audio equipment. My job doesnt really provide much training on audio, we all just kind of play it by ear or play with things until we figure it out ourselves.
  14. Thanks. Everything is hooked up except an F-30. One was damaged when I got it home, plastic foot was broken off. I brought it back to my work and exchanged it for a new one but the new one had to be ordered from my distribution center. Just waiting on it to arrive.
  15. Ok I will give it a shot at putting pics up of my setup now. Excuse the wire mess behind the tv, that's the UN55ES8000. The SW112 with the Quintets. The F-30's
  16. I will try to get some pics up of my setup but I am running the following: Samsung UN55ES8000 240hz Led tv Yamaha RXV-573 7.1 reciever 2 Klipsch Synergy F-30's The Klipsch QuintetV 5 pack Klipsch SW112 sub I work for an electronics store and after hearing everything my company has to offer when it comes to audio I narrowed down my decision to these and created my home theater. Definately a major upgrade than just the basic tv speakers. I really wanted to go with the Klipsch bookshelf speakers but space would not allow them.
  17. Hey guys I am new here, had a question about the Klipsch SW112 sub. My question is, is there any recommended settings I should use to tune this sub? I am running a Yamaha RXV-573 reciever and I have 2 Klipsch F-30's hooked up to the Zone 2, and I have the Klipsch Quintets hooked up to it as my surround sound speakers. I dont know anything about Hz when it comes to the sub, so that is really what I would like to know what I should adjust the reciver output and turn the knob to on the sub itself. It thumps pretty hard but I want to make sure I am not going to damage it by not having it on the right setting. Thanks guys.
