  1. Was thinking to finally move on from my rf 7a 1st gen. I have had them for over 15 years or so. Was thinking or forte 3 . Since I was introduced to Klipsch from my father as a lil boy. My father has passed on and kind of wanted to get the new ones as a rememberance to him. That’s the only way I can convince the wife of the change. And the money investment. She says t the rf7 sound great. My father had the 1st gen forte. With a Denon poa 2200 power amp.
  2. The halo p5 I have owned just under a year and it was the best improvement I had in my system. I paid full retail and could not be happier with it. It has balanced in and outs. It sounds best with tone controls not it use. Very clean and very detailed sound.
  3. My experience with the 7 s is not to power them with any AV receiver. No matter which it is. They r not designed to push current Hungry speakers like the 7s. You can get by with it but will not sound as good as a deicated stereo power amp. Not because of watts but it's the cuurent that you need. The 7s will sound harsh with the highs and mids and not that clean slam bass that these speakers can produce. Watts are not want you are looking for. The heavier the equipment better chance it has good current capibillites. you will not need a sub for music with the 7s when set with the right equipment unless you are a bass head. I have tried lots of amps with the 7s. Every thing the highs and mids and bass are all balanced is when you know they are being powered right.
  4. I recommend that if you like the bass already means you are getting close but you need better amplification more current to tame the harshness. That's my experience with the referance line which I have owned for 16 years. I have tried all kinds of different amps some sound harsh and the better amp the better it sounds. When you have theses bad boys with good equipment you will not need bass or highs boost. Flat is where it's at with klipsch to get best sound. A entry level emotiva amp wound be a good start. They are priced reasonable.
  5. The A 21 has high class a operation. When your a21 is running class a whats the improvement from ab operation. I have a family! So I would not be cranking all the time but with the 7s I don't need much to get loud. So class a would be what I use most of the time.
  6. Hello I was wondering how do you like the a21amp? I do own the p 5 halo pre amp and later I want to get the a21 for my rf7s. I have a 2 ch set up with no sub . Which I think to my ears is the best way to listen to the 7s . They do have two big ports in the back and like to put them to use. To me there is something special when listening to a set of full range speakers with a powerful amp.
  7. hello people I am the one that posted about upgrade bug from my rf7. After reading responses I think the 7s are staying. They do sound great. I would have to spend lots more money to get that level of performance or even close to it. But my next ? Is my pre amp and power amp have balanced outs and in. I have never used. Only unbalanced because don't have the cables and my CD player only uses unbalanced. Marantz cd5004 newer model. Would getting a balanced CD player help performance?
  8. It has less power then the monster amp, but its high current and sounds good. its funny just by changing one piece in the chain, bring diffrent sound.
  9. One thing I did this weekend was switched out power amps for one of my old amps that i had for 16 years because i never heard it with my parasound halo pre and it sounds better then ever. its a sleeper amp the Harman Kardon signature series 1.5 stereo amp. 200.2 and 325x2@4ohms.
  10. I am using which was my last upgrade a parasound Halo P5 stereo pre amp.
  11. whats the deal with this class A amp stuff? i hear a lot about it. I do know some amps do class a for the first ten watts of so and then kick in to class A/Ab. I do like that. what would be the benefit of this.
  12. I think over the years I have but together a pretty good setup , trying lots of different components at least what I can afford. The speakers r not getting any lack of current as I know watts don't mean much with speakers like these. 10 watts combined both Channals is as much as my ears can handle. My amp shows with meters how much power is used at all times
  13. How much would it cost and what r the changes
  14. Monster cable power amp designed be Richard marsh which I heard is really good in designing power amps. I believe he did all the monster amps in that line.
