  1. I appreciate the complements. It's nice to see others enjoying what we are doing.
  2. The hinge is just a gate hinge welded to angle iron to change the mounting point since the hinge point is higher than the mounting point. The latch is a car door latch and can be controlled with a cable release. The frame is 4.5" by 2" extruded aluminum. I'll try and get some better pics. Hope this helps.
  3. Well done! Clean install and a great first system. I know she will love it. Excellent prices as always with you.
  4. Thanks guys. I appreciate the complements. It has been fun working with my friends and especially my Dad to finish this project. I just can't work very long at a time and need help figuring things out more than before. At least I can still make sawdust, just at a much slower pace.
  5. The circle is oak from the round oak trim I made for the subwoofer column. It is the off cut from the outside of the ring. The eagle is MDF.
  6. If you can manage through the 32 pages you will see I built this screen 2 years ago and am very pleased. It has no sheen, you can't see the weave at 9ft (actual viewing distance), and it is less than 1/4 the cost of Semour. I have a matching front 3 RF-7ii's and can not distinguish any audio loss or change through the screen. Your 130" wide 2.35:1 is 141" diagonal vs my 130" 16:9 screen which is 122" when masked down to 2.35:1. Your 141" screen at 12ft is probably comparable or bigger than my 122" screen at 9ft. It is definitely not to big. I don' think going bigger would be an improvement at that distance. It really is perfect, full emersion without feeling like a tennis match.
  7. I got my nerd on this weekend and made a new decoration for the HT. Also posted in : https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/155787-tour-of-wakejunkies-home-theater-lots-of-pics/page-1
  8. I got my nerd on this weekend and made a new decoration for the HT.
  9. Wireless Keyboard with a touchpad. I have a separate wireless mouse for those that have issues with a touchpad. Spotify is running on the PC directly. I am using Spotify free so I can't use "Connect" since it is a premium feature.
  10. A Technology recycling place. They came out of a server cabinet. Before my stroke this is how I would spend every day I could.
  11. I added some speakers in the pool table area since Youthman left. They are powered by the Sony receiver we pulled from the Living Room when we installed the Denon AVR-791. It is frequent to have people playing XBOX with the rest of the group around the pool table. I wanted music back there for atmosphere other than the sounds of an exploding Wraith. The Heresey II's replaced Synergy S-2 Bookshelf speakers in the Living Room so I already had these. They are connected to the 2nd screen, aux iphone input, and the PC for Spotify. With the main screen playing XBOX, PS3, or TV you can use the 42" 2nd screen as the PC monitor and control Spotify to the rear speakers with the wireless keyboard/mouse.
  12. Pictures of the equipment closet: Individual dimmers for the lights are located in the equipment closet. They are controlled by the two master switches in the room. Here you can see the door to the closet and the outside of the IB sub manifold. You can kind of see the Velodine sub, old Kenwood Receiver, and $7 garage sale Bose speakers I use in my workshop.
  13. Hail State! I think there are 4 cowbells in the room right now. Not in the house...in the room. Not to mention almost all the decorations are MSU. You would have liked the MSU Christmas Tree that replaced the foosball table for the season. It had at least a dozen cowbell decorations.
  14. I took apart an old commercial soda fountain for the cold plate (huge aluminum block with a stainless steel tube for each syrup flavor, soda water, and water.) The cold plate was for a commercial system so it had a separate circuit for the soda water for each flavor. I split the line to use all 6 circuits available. Those 6 hoses come back together before going into the dispenser to dispense super cooled soda water. This more than compensates for the cold plate being less efficient being air cooled vs ice cooled as originally in the commercial fountain. I cut a blank 1 gang plate to fit the opening of the control module. The module is actually designed to control the temp of an aquarium, but is a perfect fit and only cost $14 shipped. Basically when the freezer gets to 32 degrees the unit "unplugs" the deep freeze until it warms to 35 deg. I also set a delay so it can't cycle to quickly and damage the compressor. Freezers make very efficient refrigerators, which is what this really is now. It doesn't even run that much. I keep the freezer between 32 and 35 degrees. The oversized cold plate does a great job chilling the soda prior to dispensing. The soda, and water are dispensed right at 34 degrees which is perfect. The freezer was a small white regular deep freeze for $50 on craigslist. I painted it and cut holes for the syrup and water lines in the back and the dispenser on top. BIB syrup is in the cabinet under the popcorn machine. The carbonator, water filter, and CO2 tank are in the next room.
  15. Thanks, The sub I used had a synthetic cone. Not sure what it is exactly, but feels like plastic. The amp (all electronics) were removed and are located next to the receiver in the basement under the bathroom. The hole the amp left was covered with plywood. Two years with no issues. We do however use the exhaust fan pretty much every time a shower is taken. It is on a timer switch so it is easy to press a button to turn it on for 20min when you walk in and not worry about leaving it on. I know it wasn't asked, but since it is related. The Klipsch dual voice coil in-ceiling speaker is outdoor rated so moisture was not a concern.

  17. Exactly. IB Subs do not mix well with glass. It feels good to update my signature with some new toys! Thank you Youthman for helping me this weekend. I had a great time and we got some things done as well.
  18. Multitasking = doing 2 things at once and neither very well It's not so bad when you are playing a game that really doesn't require sound like Lego while a movie you have already seen is playing.
  19. My girls playing Harry Potter Lego on the Xbox while watching "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs."
  20. The edge is about 3ft from the screen. Your eyes are 9'-9.5' away when watching from the beanbag.
  21. First of all it has been a great visit with my best friend Youthman. It has been great to have him here to visit, and a great help getting some things done I am having trouble with. I appreciate all the Prayers. You guys are awesome. It was encouraging to see all the comments from people pulling for me. I am proud to be part of the brotherhood of nerds. (No Offence intended. I really am proud) I am getting better and would appreciate the continued prayers as I continue to heal. The new Onkyo TX-NR1008 replaced the Denon AVR-791 in the HT. The Denon replaced a 10 year old cheap Sony upstairs connected to the Heresy's in the Living Room. The Sony was installed in the HT rack as the second receiver in the HT and will eventually power the SB-2 bookshelves in the pool table area. This will allow music at the pool table during Xbox or other uses of the main system. The Onkyo was surprising in how much of an upgrade it was. 90W vs 135W was expected to be a difference, but I think it is more than just that. The Audyssey on the Onkyo was much better than anything the Denon had. The Denon mic doesn't work for some reason, and other brand setup mics I have tried didn't work. I set levels with an SPL on the Denon, but it never sounded as good as the Onkyo. The only thing I did after running Audyssey on the Onkyo was manually adjust the sub levels with the SPL. Audyssey apparently is scared of IB subs and had them very low. The difference in sound quality was surprising. Even though the Onkyo is not the amp for the subs they still sounded better... It is hard to describe. Tighter and cleaner Bass. The bass was noticeable, but not as much as the highs. That was a big difference. The RF-7iis sounded so much brighter. They reminded me of the experience I felt when listening to Youthman's LaScala's. I'm not trying to compare the 7ii's to the LaScala's, but the supper bright and clear sound reminded me of the LaScala sound. It definitely had Better instrument separation and more powerful vocals than with the Denon. I honestly never knew there was anything lacking in the Denon, but the Onkyo really showed it up.
