  1. I live in Sevierville,Tn 45 mins from Knoxville,I have been a big fan of klipsch speakers since the mid 80's.My audiophile friends still give me grief about using klipschorns, then once they listen they change their minds.I have always thought klipschorns would sound great with a transiter radio and only get better as you use better equipment with them.I have a pair of Belles and I made put them upstairs with our living room setup.
  2. I had AA crossovers and replaced them with ALK universal crossovers and DE-120 tweeters,I still have everything and can change them back.I was lucky enough to find my pair within a couple hours drive from me and bought them from the original owner who rarely played them the last 10 years he owned them.He had original invoice and all papperwork inside klipsch envelope.I keep all that inside top hat of both khorns.I love the sound I am getting and I am always trying to make them better.
  3. Thanks ,my midrange speakers had the solder terminals.I was thinking of upgrading them to the K-55g ,I think I will keep what I have.
  4. I have a pair of Klipschorns with the K-55V midrange, can someone tell me what to look for to see if I have the dual plug version. My midrange has the non spring loaded terminals.Serial number on 1 midrange is136899,speakers are from august 1980

  6. I finally had the time to do some critical listening with the Carver 305's,Ithey replaced an Aloia ST-13.01i 30 watt solid state amp with inductive power supply. The Aloia amp has plenty of power for khorns, deep bass and great sound stage, but the Carvers are smoother on the top end and has a more relaxed sound.People that think Klipschorns are not a high end speaker, has not taken the time to get the most out of them.I have a pair made in 1980 with walnut finish,I upgraded the crossovers to ALK Cornscalla/Universal models with B&C DE-120 tweeters,I also upgraded all wiring to 12 gauge copper.I added pipe insulation to seal the backs to the corners. These small changes makes a huge difference in sound stage, image and bass response.I had friend over and he could not believe the sound and we listened for a couple of hours and he was amazed.
  7. I plan on trying some different tubes and see how they sound with some vintage 12ax7's and 12at7's,I have matching amp stand to go with my new stand and I am trying to make those changes next week.

Klipschorns with ALK Unerversal crossovers & fastrac horn tweeters with DE-120-8 tweeters, using Aloia solid state amp with inductive power supply for front power and using Yamaha RX-1030 receiver for rear power, with Cary MS-1 music server, with plans to add a Klipsch RC-64mkii for center.I am using velodyne HGS-12 sub.
  20. Yamaha MX-830 power amp, original manual. Yamaha CX-830 preamp with phono stage ,remote control and manual
  21. If you decide to use those bases with the Belles with the Volti upgrades that should be interesting, online Greg used his voice to talk into a klipsch mid horn and his own mid horn and his was a lot smoother than the klipsch.I plan on using my Khorns in front and Belles in rear channels, your setup looks great.
  22. I have a pair of Belles and was thinking of buying another pair and then flipping one pair on top of the other, tweeters and mids together with woofers on top and bottom. That would be interesting ,I always thought the Belles could use a base or stand to rise up mids and tweeters.
