Beemer, Have you thought about bass shakers or tactile transducers? I have several in my couch and it adds the feel that you maybe looking for. I really like them, they add a punch to the bass without having to really turn up the sub. Also late a night, I turn off the sub and just turn up the shakers so as to not disturb the rest of the house or neighbors. Clark makes an expensive one, I have the el cheapo 10 buck varity and like them just fine. I have to agree with the EAR, I have two carver amps and used to have the Carver Amazing Loudspeaker III's. Carver, that is when Bob owned them, was a very good company with quality equipment. Now that Sunfire is around they have raised the bar again with the True sub and their processors. I would put my old AL-III against ANY speaker under $6,000 for pure musical quality. I sold them because they are just too big and need alot of room to breath. I had them bi-amped with the Carver 705x that I still use for my cornwalls. I also have a TFM-35 bridged to 700 watts at 8 ohms that drive my sub and could not be happer. I think you know my answer. FRONT PROJECTION!!!!!!!! Have you demoed any? The order in which I watch the most, 50% regular tv (digital 4:3), 30% satalite (digital 4:3), 10% HDTV (digital 16:9), and 10% dvd (50% wide screen and 50% 4:3), with some analog tv. I looked at a 16:9 projector but most of my watching is still in 4:3 so that what I got. Here is a pic of one of my cornwalls. serial number 16S6XX. The grills have an opening for both the tweeter and squaker. the woofers appearto be the same. I'm not the original owner though. I've heard that you should turn on the compnets starting with the closest to the speaker first then go backwards down the chain. Dont know why, that just what I've heard. I try to turn mine on in this order, amp, reciever, then source that I'll be using, ie hdtv tuner, dvd, turntable.... Have you tried to switch the center with one of the fronts to see if the hum goes with the center or stays in the center? If it stays in the center then its not the speaker and you need to look else where. Try and keep the speaker wire from running parrallel with power cords. I have to agree with Seb, there is NOTHING like turning down the lights, and having a 100 plus inch image to look at. the geewiz factor is very high and cool. At the local brick and mortor they have a flat panel, and I has not that impressed with it. For comparison, a 60"x45" screen has 2700 sq inches and a 100"x75" screen has 7500 sq inches that a 277% larger screen. That makes a huge difference. I know that I'm not the smartest guy in town but looking at the relative number of post I can see how that Klipsch is going the direction that it is. Two channel 435 posts Home Theater 1575 posts Powered subs 401 posts. By compairing the numbers of each section two channel audio seems on its way out. Home theater has a 362% advantage over Two channel and if HT and Subs are added together (same type of source HT) then that have a 454% advantage. That is not taking into account all of the different variables, but I know that pure two channel is a dying breed. if I'm not watching a movie its two channel for me. Which is the Textaverage person going to buy 5 Heritage line speakers and a sub Or 5 Reference line speakers and a sub? most of the time it come down to $$$$$$$$$$$. Klipsch should not abandon those of use that have and love the Heritage line. Even though i bought all my Heritage line speakers used. If I had the chance to purchase a new first generation Heresy, I would. While watching Pearl Harbor I cranked it up and had peakes of 117 at the listening postion. I had to turn down the quentets and sub though. The cornwalls and heresy sounded great. Welcome.... Have you tried setting your KLF to large and moving the crossover on the CT-120 to around 50? I think that having the KLF's going as low as possible helps the stereo image and intergaration with the sub. I watched Pearl Harbor and loved the sound and eye candy, but I thought that the love story was kinda of corny IMHO. My wife was able to tell the whole plot after he came back from the dead I have a pair of Quentets as rears until the funds come available for a pair of heresy's. I got them at ubid.com for 39 each + shipping. I like them ok for surrounds. Kain, One of the main reasons that I went with a front projection is you can have a much large picture than with a rear. Demoing it on a 61" screen is kinda of small for a front projector. At that width you would not notice the screendoor effect very much. I'd ask them to project onto a much larger screen for you. I demoed both LCD and DLP projectors and like the DLP much better. They have a higher contrast rates, better blacks and little or no screen door effect (generally speaking of course, your millage may vary). I bought the Infocus because of the better blacks, no screen door and because I cannot completely control the light in the room I needed a little brighter projector. I hope its not a 65" rear projection, that will be much harder than the velo to get down the chemney Good luck, if you have any problems hooking it up, read the instructions I would set the Cornwalls to large and adjust the ct-150 to around 45-50 to blend with the Cornwalls. Man are you gonna love the sound at reference levels. My only concern is that the ct-150 cannot keep up. Justin, Would a front projection with a pull down or motorized screen work? I was going to buy a 65" Elite rear projection hdtv but its cabinet was too large and at the time I had a pair of Carver amazing III, dipole ribbon speakers, and they need the breathing room (nothing between them for proper imaging and sound stage), so I opted for front projection and love it, its 105" compared to 65"!! Currentley I'm projecting onto the wall painted snowbird gray. Later I would like to have a motorized screen ect... I live in Fort Worth and find Klipsch to be fairly easy to find by searching the classified adds. I know that Hillcrest Highfi (Dallas) and Marvins Electronics (fort worth)in the 70's and 80's pushed the Hertage lines alot. I bought my cornwall in the Star telegram for 200 dollars, yeh I bought them for that, but that what they wanted for them. I also bought a pair of Heresy's at Marvins Electronics in fort worth for 350. Although I do not know anything about the Yamy, I'd check the easy stuff first. All wires connected correctly, in phase, any stray wires touching the oppisite post? Replace the C6 with another speaker to make sure that the speaker is indeed OK. Is it muffled only on that one source, check interconnects. Just a few things to try and narrow it down.
