  1. Sweet garage speakers here...https://raleigh.craigslist.org/ele/d/klipsch-kp-dj-or-band/6204633013.html
  2. Anyone know if I can attach a plywood outer baffle to an MDF box? I really don't want to router MDF again. The MDF dust is unbelievable.
  3. If they had the 15s in cherry, I just might have skipped the DIY route and hit the easy button.
  4. All I know is if it blacks out during Game of Thrones tomorrow night, I might lose my $hit.
  5. I checked with him before ordering, but he had just received a batch from his CNC guy and they all had roundovers. I'm sure, I tried them all ways. The edges stand out just enough to catch a fingernail. Not a problem unless you're trying to veneer. The kit is still way way better than I could do on my own.
  6. Me too. I tested mine before installing inside the wall and it seemed to work fine, but it will randomly cut out once or twice over the course of a movie. Screen blacks out for 5 seconds or so...usually during the good parts of the movie.
  7. I'm using one of the active Monoprice Cabernet cables at 40' and it is a bit glitchy.
  8. All the pieces are just a little off, not just the baffle. I end up making my own baffle anyway to have one with square corners for veneering. I sure wish DIYSG would sell kits without the roundover. It is way easier to remove wood than it is to add it back.
  9. I will say that this DIY sound group kit doesn't quite fit together as well as my first one. The first box was essentially perfect while this one is like a copy of a copy.
  10. Second sub has started taking shape.
  11. That's what they want you to think. They probably wrote a contact report about your interaction.
  12. I've read that they'll walk across the floor, but i have no experience with them myself.
  13. Do you have your front speakers plugged into the voltage source or current source? What's the difference supposed to be anyway, voltage and current are related by ohm's law.
  14. Sweet! What type of boat do you have?
  15. Here's the Klipsch press release: http://www.klipsch.com/news/mastercraft-to-offer-first-ever-best-in-class-klipsch-marine-audio-systems
  16. Just saw this...pretty cool. https://www.soundandvision.com/content/mastercraft-boats-get-klipsch-marine-audio-systems
  17. I'm happy to report that the AC Infinity S8 is working just like I hoped. My AVR is now much cooler after watching a movie. The unit has four fan speeds. The lowest two speeds are very quiet. The highest speed results in some fan noise, but it is not intrusive. I have it it running in auto mode which regulates the fan speed automatically based on the temperature. In this mode, it never went above the lowest fan speed and my AVR became warm but not hot like it used to. Build quality is also excellent. The case is well finished and sturdy. The buttons also feel solid and have positive indents. The unit came well packaged and with free shipping through Amazon. My only minor gripe is the styling which would look great on a Marantz, but doesn't quite match my Denon. Sorry for all the subjective language in my review, but I didn't take any temperature or spl measurements. This thing just works like it should at a very reasonable cost.
  18. I went ahead and ordered the version which vents out the back. I'll update this post with the results when it comes in.
  19. Does anyone here use one of these to keep their AVR cool? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LVUWOBX/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2AW0W4FKP16S5 My new Denon 6300 runs alot hotter than my old Pioneer SC-1323 and i'm worried about it getting too hot in my cabinet. There's not much airflow in my cabinet with the doors closed and the top of the receiver gets very hot.
  20. False alarm, it's working properly. Apparently "auto" means bitstream in Sony speak.
  21. Only about 1-2 years old. It definitely does not output bitstream.
  22. Turns out that my cheap Sony bluray player will not support bitstream output which means that I cant pass the Dolby Atmos soundtrack to my receiver. Does anyone know of current bluray players which can output bitstream? I'm hoping that i dont need to spring for an OPPO since i'm just using an HDMI connection and am not convinced that there is any difference in signal quality from one player to another (let me know if i'm wrong on this).
  23. Nice looking speakers for a fair price. This post should be moved to the Alerts sub forum.
  24. It's filling in the bottom octave nicely and blends well with my smaller Emotiva sub. I think I need to start running my sub amp in bridge mode though since I've seen the red clipping light start flashing in good demo scenes.
