    center

My mate has the 250c. It is ok but the rc62ii is the better center. That and the fact it matches your rb61 horns. 6" 90x60 horn on the rb61 and rc62, 5" 90x90 horn on the rp250c.
  2. Hi there! Can you fit towers at all? You mention gaming- I run towers for my surrounds and play a lot of games. A 6.1 system with towers and a rear center in my old room was awesome for immersion- effects panned seamlessly. I have since dropped back to 5.1 for this room but still use my towers for surrounds.
  3. Don't run 2 centers as already stated. Those f20s should be fine surround speakrs. I used to run f30s as surrounds and they are the 2nd best surrounds I have ever heard(my current rf82iis are the best). A lot don't like the synergy series but I found my f30s very close to my rf82iis.
  4. Define "light pressure", and is it worth it to compromise your existing sound? I would never go in-ceilings, especially to replace a perfectly good set of floorstanders.
  5. All true but he will get some boundary gain with a sealed sub in his smallish room which will add some lower oooomph for movies.. I have all sealed subs in my 5000ft3+ family room/kitchen/nook and it sure is not lacking for movies. Though I can't say that I am getting sub 17Hz at 105dB at my listening position. Bill Multiple sealed is a whole different story lol.
  6. I may have missed it but have you seen the reviews and tests on databass? Those ultra expensive subs like the paradigm and the dd18+ are equalled or bested by a lot of other subs
  7. Ported will be louder. Ported will be good for movies and music where as sealed will be good for music but may leave you wanting for movies
  8. Just wanted to say hi over here too lol. You definitely came to the right place.
  9. I too spend A LOT of time in front of the PC and enjoy music through my setup. I am running hdmi out from my gtx970 into my old onkyo and 2ch music is bliss through my rf83s.
  10. Jump on those 83s, great speakers! The new premieres are better than my rf82iis but I would still have the 83s or 7s any day.
  11. I would not put speakers on the ceiling, especially lcr. You could do a lot better than those quintets if you stick around here a while!
  12. Have you seen those kpop girls? I love asian women
  13. Im still not understanding. What is the end goal here? Twin stereo rigs in the same room? If it were me I would be dumping my cash into 2 good speakers and 1 or 2 good subs. No twin systems and no expensive electronics until you are happy with your main speakers and sub.
  14. Wait you have 3 receivers each driving a different set of speakers all in the same setup? And want a 4th receiver/integrated amp? Am I lost here?
  15. They would be so close I doubt you could tell. Series 1 would be the perfect match.
  16. 1st I dont know how expensive comparitively speaking US$500 is. 2nd a larger driver in a larger cabinet with a more powerful amp especially if of similar design is going to be better across the board. And 3rd and I am trying to be careful what I say lol but I would not have got a klipsch sub to start with. Sure the 12s will be great. Sure the 15s would be better. But are there better subs out there? Yes. I have diy 15s in 7cubic ft sealed enclosures so may be a little biased here. Basically the bigger the driver and enclosure the better the sub. But it also depends on how far you want to get into things lol.
  17. I just purchased my second 112, I am very pleased with the quality of these subs I kinda wonder what the 115s would sound like? I did get to demo them at frys but they only had one and in a poorly designed demo room I was not impressed. My OCD tells me to trade the 112s in and up pay for the larger subs but I would hate to compromise I'm very happy with the 112s and don't want to lose all my mid bass for the low end bass only You will not lose any midbass. The 15s will do everything the 12s are doing just better.
  18. I believe it is the only cd quality streaming service, all the rest are capped at various bitrates comparable to mp3
  19. I have my 55" on an rc64ii and have had a 50" on an rc62ii.
  20. I stream Tidal hifi direct from pc to receiver via hdmi and it is the best thing I have done for music. I do not have any cds or any other music collection so for me having cd quality music as opposed to youtube bitrate audio it is a huge improvement. I went with this over spotify
  21. Is an rc64ii an option in your country? I used to run mine between my rf82iis and it was great.
  22. What level error? Sub? You want the avr to set the sub trim somewhere around -5 to -10 and not -12 which in turn would be dictated by your volume control on the subs. I would set both phase to 0 and make sure the setting on the sub itself is either direct or the highest it can go ie 150hz etc. You are using the xover in the avr so you do not want the controls on the sub to override in any way. Once you are happy with just your subs then rerun the auto setup. Once that is complete then turn the sub trim on the receiver up 3db from what it was ie if it was -10 go to -7. Then see how the system performs on a movie with lots of lfe and turn it up as loud as you would ever listen to it. If you still want more bass I would increase by another 3db at most on the sub trim. Any more than this and not only will it be bass heavy but you could kill your subs.
  23. That is a 7db increase on your subs, not taking into account jumping from halfway to 3/4 on the dials. Be careful when playing at volumes above -15 as I have blown subs before running them too hot. A 6db increase may be ok but I only ever run 3db hot. I would calibrate from the beginning to be on the safe side. As for the center it is arguably the most important speaker for ht and if you compromise on that especially if you have good mains your overall performance will suffer. I would change the entire room before I compromised any of my speakers but that is me.
  24. Is that +3 actual or +3 above what it was on? I would not want to run subs at +3, it overemphasizes the bass and could potentially bottom the subs out if playing towards reference levels.
  25. If you want to keep al rp I would say 280f as fronts,450c as center and 4 160ms as surrounds and surround backs. Can you use your r28f as surrounds or are you selling? Or of course if you had the money rf7ii and rc64ii would be better.
