  1. If you live in Northwest Missouri and are interested in these you can come and give them a listen. Pretty detailed speakers in the highs and midrange. They can handle a lot of power but it doesn't seem to take too much to get them singing. Got them hooked up to a Marantz PM 6007 at 45 WPC and they get plenty loud without even warming up the amp. $400 for the pair. Emotiva has them listed as temporarily unavailable so I don't know when they'll have them for sale new again. Been that way for 6 months now.
  2. Yeah, RF7's really dip low in impedance. That says a lot for this amp...........I'm gonna keep it awhile and let it rip! Thanks for the response...........makes me feel better about the amp being able to handle tough loads.
  3. Hey there Nickyboy6100. This amp sounded good with my Klipsch RF 3's but I was thinking about trying it with my Forte's. However, in researching the amp I've found people that say it doesn't do well with 4 ohm loads. The Forte drops slightly below 4 ohms in it's impedance curve even though it's rated as 8 ohm nominal. I'm wondering if you've tried this amp with Forte's? I'd love to see how it would do but have been reluctant to something that might damage anything.
  4. Nice B&K ST 140. Sounds really good with Klipsch or other high efficiency speakers that are 8 ohm. Local sale only, $250. Thanks for looking.Decided to withdraw this and keep it for now.
  5. I've been searching for information on different amps to try with Klipsch and the B&K ST 140 is one that many folks recommend. I had a chance to purchase one and since it arrived I've been listening to a pair of Klipsch RF 3ii's driven by this amp. This sounds wonderful with these speakers. The B&K supposedly doesn't do well with under 4 ohm loads but the RF 3ii's have a pretty benign impedance curve. The twin 8'' woofers really came alive with this amp and the horn response on top is really, really smooth. Sounds like a whole different speaker system than it used to. Easy.....very easy to listen to over hours of time. No harshness or listener fatigue. I love this thing and it was really inexpensive. Maybe not as good as tubes but it sure sounds nice.
  6. Boy, I bet the 4's sound great! never heard them but based on how my 2's sound I'd love to upgrade to 4's someday.
  7. Finally got my hands on an Emotiva to try out. Found a used A300 for sale at a bargain price so I thought why not try it out. Been listening for a few days and IMO they sound pretty good. A decidedly neutral amp with plenty of detail. It's not real heavy in the bass.......not a heavy bass hitter like my Harman Kardon PA 2200. But the bass is solid. The midrange is really good and the treble sounds right to me. Runs cool as a cucumber even with 4 ohm speakers. For the $275 clams I paid I'm happy. Now to see how it holds up.
  8. From time to time I see posts where folks are looking for these amps. I've owned the AU 717, the AU217 and this one. This sounds decent with some of my other speakers but I bought it for my Klipsch and I honestly wasn't that impressed with it in that application. Others may feel differently so I'll offer it up. I can't offer shipping but if you're close to the Kansas City area you may want to come get it. I'd like to get $275 but I could negotiate a little. Thanks for looking.
  9. Yes.........there are pics of at least one of them with the grills removed. They look OK to me. I concur with your thoughts on price........thanks.
  10. I've seen the pics.......I was wondering what folks think of the asking price. I do know the prices on Heritage have gone way up.
  11. That's about a 5 hour drive for me so I'll probably have to pass on them. They look nice enough in the pics though. Is the pricing reasonable?
  12. Not at this time.....i want to sell locally, but thanks.
  13. It's been sold and title changed.............thanks, Joe

Tried any other amps with them to see if it helps smooth the response? I know it took me some experimentation with different amps to like my Belle Klipsch.
  15. Arcam FMJ A28 integrated amplifier. Works perfectly, cosmetically almost perfect. Remote included................75 WPC. Asking $300. Thanks for looking..........Joe
  16. Yes indeed.......if a person uses highly efficient speakers like the big Klipsch Heritage the little 2230 will get the job done nicely.
  17. I'm sorry but not going to ship this..........too nice to take the chance of damage. I'm in NW Missouri.
  18. Very nice 2230 in good enough cosmetic condition to be the centerpiece of a listening room or living room. Custom cabinet by Joe Cartwright. Has the sticky power button but I just turn it on and off with a power strip. Otherwise it functions great and has good strong lighting for that comforting Marantz blue glow. I used it to power my Klipsch Belles and it sounded heavenly with them. $500 firm...........thanks for looking. The Marantz has been sold. Thanks.
  19. I have KLF 20's and had been powering them with a new Marantz PM 6007 but was never very satisfied with the sound. I came across an older Harman Kardon PA 2200 anp and HK PT2300 preamp for cheap so I bought them to use on my porch system. The more I listened to them the more I wondered what they would do for the KLF's......they sounded great on the porch. Moved them inside and they're still there! Don't know what the synergy is but wow, the KLF's really opened up and smoothed out. I think HK made some really good amps.
  20. I guess the Emotiva Bas X A2 is too new for many people to have owned one yet. Can't find many reviews on line. Anyone own one of these amps? If so, how do you like it?
  21. Darned good price on some real bass blasters.
  22. These sold yesterday...........thanks everyone!
