  1. Can across this on FB marketplace. Seems like a good price and decent little starter set for anyone. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/4141470749222420/?ref=facebook_story_share
  2. I don't know if anyone is looking, but they have new omd-5's in both colors on ebay for now.
  3. The sound is awsome for the whole 15 minutes I had to listen to it before I had to go to work. I haven't really even set it up yet or had time to play with any settings. I just plugged it in and put on a movie. I only have it a 1/4 gain, and probably won't turn it up any louder. It's way more than I had anticipated. Now, just have to figure out how to "hide" it, to make my wife happy by it's appearance. Will probably look for some kind of screen. Everything really sounds great along side my 83/64 set up.
  4. Picked it up today. I work nights, so I took some timing on both our schedules. But it's on its way via my wife, and I'll hook it up in the morning when I get home, or in the afternoon when I get up.
  5. This sub., the pb12/2 ultra for $600, or a vft-15, for $100 more, which will give me more bang(or boom), in this case, for my buck?
  6. Am picking up a svs pb12/2 ultra with a textured composite box and was wondering if anyone has tried to paint or refinish one of these with any success. If so, let me know what you used and how you did it. Thanks, Chad
  7. Will post pic soon, supposed to pick it up tomorrow. Has anyone ever tryed to paint a textured composite box. It has some light scratches and some discoloration and water marks on the top. I would like to paint it if it is possible, but don't know. I don't want to do anything to make it look worse. I can live with the way it currently looks. If anyone has ever done it or knows how, please let me know. Thanks, Chad
  8. If I had the oppurtunity to pick one of these monsters up for around the $550 to $600 dollar range, would it be worth it? How does it sound comparied to a more current sub, such as an HSU VTF-3 Mk3 or 4? I would be using it 90% HT, 10% music? Oppinions please. Thanks, Chad

    Which Sub

Hsu it is, I guess. I really liked the rosewood on the hsu. But the epik had an 18 inch driver and a 600 watt amp. I appreciate y'all's input.

    Which Sub

both subs I'm looking at are used.

    Which Sub

This is probably an no brainer, but which sub for HT use only. Epik dynasty or HSU VTF-2 MK3. in rosewood. I really like the rosewood. But only $50 difference between the two, the hsu being cheaper. Both used of course. Let me know your opinions. Thanks, Chad

    SVS SB12 plus

This might be worth looking at for someone close to the area. SVS SB12 plus. in Maine for $100 Thought about it, but it's too far from me and not what I'm currently looking for. http://maine.craigslist.org/for/4191497201.html
  13. It was a pleasure meeting you and your family as well. The amp sounds great. The one noticeable difference is how much better the center speaker sounds with dialog. It's much clearer, and much easier to make out what they are saying. Thanks again.
  14. Is this still available. If so, let me know, I'm coming into town this weekend. I sent you a PM a few days ago. Thanks, Chad
  15. Need to be educated. I currently have an 83/64 setup on Onkyo 809, I think. I just bought a new sub. and need to know learn more about hooking it up, and some cable differences. First, I will primarily be using if for HT purposes. Is it better to hook it up using a single cable LFE or Y connection. Also need help choosing a cable. What is the difference between these two other than brand name? http://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-Ultra-Series-Subwoofer-Cable/dp/B003FVX9FO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1383122127&sr=8-4&keywords=subwoofer+cable vs http://www.amazon.com/Monster-M850-SW-12-M-Series-Subwoofer/dp/B0010DLYO2/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1383122422&sr=8-14&keywords=subwoofer+cable or is there some other cable that would be better. As always I appreciate all the education that yall provide. Thanks, Chad
  16. Not looking to pick up anything new in the $500 range. Looking for something used prob. Really want rsw 12 or 15 in cherry. Or a cherry svs ultra, but doubt I'll find a used cherry ultra for that price.
  17. I'm ok with used, that's probably the way I will wind up going.
  18. Unfortunately, I have around a $500 budget. Don't know the Room size as I will be moving. Currently have a large living room that open into the kitchen. Also don't really want a sub as big as an end table. Would consider a 15, if needed. I am currently considering a rsw 12, but am not sure if that will be my final decision. Thanks, Chad
  19. I don't know if I have a max, just don't want one as large as an end table. And really want one in cherry, but haven't been able to find it.
  20. I have the opportunity to pick up a rsw 12 for around the $500 range or rsw 10 around the $3 to 4 hundred range. Is there a truly noticeable difference? Are either suitable for home theater use or are there better options in that price range? I'm afraid the 10 will be lost in my current setup, which is a 83/64. I have a fairly large room that open to my kitchen, but will only be in this house a few more months, then will more and don't know where yet. Please give me your opinions. I'm also looking for a reasonably small footprint. Would something in the newer line be better, such as sw311, or a totally different band. I'll most likely be buying used. Thanks for your help. Chad.
  21. Sorry yall, tried to reply back using my phone, but I guess it never came threw.
  22. I'm originally from the Jackson area. My parents and brother still live there.
  23. I don't know that these are or if any of you would be interested, but here is the link http://pensacola.craigslist.org/ele/4058628865.html. Let me know if there is anything there that you are interested in and I'll see what I can do. Chad
