  1. Were you aware that old Stereo Review issue online? i was looking for an old review and ran across a message board with a link to all the past Stereo Review issues up through 1998. Pretty cool reading some of the old reviews. https://www.americanradiohistory.com/Archive-All-Audio/HiFI-Stereo-Review.htm
  2. I just purchased my last one off of Ebay. I suggest purchasing the Phillips OEM bulb. A bulb with housing assembly will cost you around $120. As far as the indicator lights, I recommend removing the air filter from the unit and cleaning it. A dirty air filter will cause the temp to increase and not let the bulb turn on and trip your indicator lights.
  3. I would definitely replace the headunit with good quality brand that has 3 pairs of RCA outputs to add amplifier front, rear and subwoofer. I recommend staying with the better quality manufacturers - Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC. Dual and Blaupunkt are both inexpensive budget brands now. If I were you, I would get on Crutchfield and compare the models of those brands and decide that way.
  4. You are correct. No boominess and super tight, clean low bass.
  5. As you can see in my signature I have two as well. Anytime I run across the 1500 or 1800, I will pick them up.
  6. I have a nice Velodyne sub. It works great and it is in pretty good overall condition. The cabinet and grill are great. it was re-foamed prior to me obtaining it. There is a little excess silicone around the edge of the surround and for some reason the screws are rusty. Shipping weight will be around 75-80 lbs and it will ship in a 24x24x24 double-wall box. Shoot me over your zip code and I will get a shipping quote for anyone who is interested. screws are rusty.
  7. Dang! I would have bought them too. I'm not familiar with offer up. I guess I should be
  8. Up for sale is a nice Sony 400 Disc Changer. Sorry, no remote included. The changer is in good cosmetic condition and it good working order.
  9. I'm placing my RX-A1010 up for sale. The unit is in perfect working condition. It features 7 HDMI inputs, 2 HMDI outputs, phono input along with a plethora of others. It comes with the remote. The only thing cosmetically is some adhesive where a remote infared output was fastened over the receptor.
  10. I'm partial to Velodyne subs. The current Impact or DD lines are great! The Impact line is more inline with your RP speakers. The DD line are servo units and are a little pricey. You could also look at older models like the SPL series which is what the Impact series evolved from. Also, the Foundation series and HGS series were precursors to the DD line. SVS make some really nice sealed subs too. Paradigm has mad a lot of really nice subs. They had a servo series for many years that was great.
  11. This is a really nice vintage receiver. All lights work. I just replaced the white lamp bulbs. The unit works great and is in really good condition. I believe this is rated at 20 watts x 2.
  12. I'm in Denton, TX. No original boxes. You would have thought I would have wiped the dust off of them prior to taking a picture.
  13. I have 2 Velodyne Subwoofers that I’m putting up for sale. Both are in great shape and work fine. Volume controls are a little scratchy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Don't get me started. I'm Native American!
  17. I imagine what you are experiencing isn't necessarily the tweeter, but the mid and horn The Tractix horn in the mid makes this speaker seem a little forward sounding. I think adjusting the placement of the speaker from the back wall will help by improving the low-end, resulting in a smoother presentation. Also, I'm not sure about your room, but the room itself can be an issue. Is it a live room? Hard floors, walls, large, etc? I can tell you the Forte II's are a substantially better speaker than any of the KG's. I've owned both and have experienced the difference between the two.
  18. This amp is extremely heavy! When I went to take it off of the shelf I had to try several times!
  19. Yes it would make a wonderful amp, but I really don't have a need for it. I just don't spend much time at home listening to a 2 channel setup.
  20. I just secured this gem. The unit is in excellent condition and has been fully tested. I believe this unit is rated at 250 x 2 at 8 ohms and 500 x 2 at 4 ohms. It is also a dual mono design. Let me know anyone has any interest in it.
